Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me! Most Holy Mother of God, help me! These two. With these, you will be saved certainly!
Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me! Most Holy Mother of God, save me!
When all of us do this, we will surely be saved.
Don't ever leave this little prayer!
It is a simple one, but Christ made things this way because in our times we cannot bear much, like the old ones did, and God says: "Give them something easier [to bear]!"
There was once a spiritual father... pff... from those of old... And he began to talk to God. And he said to Him:
"Forgive me, my great God, please, can You make it so that at step number 7 [out of the 10, we are also saved]?"
That is, at steps 8, 9 or 10 one is saved. The first [7 steps] lead to hell.
And He nods.
"Can we [also] be saved [at the 7th step]?"
"Yes!"
"Can I say something else?"
God says, "say it!"
"Can we also be saved at step number 5?"
And goes on "Step number 5… Step number 4… Step number 3?"
But at step number 3, the Lord, Christ did not give an answer. God left him there, and He descended [all the way] to step number 3.
He was a very holy man. Of the old ones... the old ones who did a lot.
And the Lord descended, descended... And now He keeps us at step number 3.
"If time passes and we are in danger… [Can we be saved] at step number 3?"
"Yes, yes, yes!"
"[What about] step number 2?"
And He will receive us all inside [His Kingdom]!
Right now, we have this little prayer I told you about. We have nothing greater to offer!
He will say: "If you have nothing on you..."
We have to humble ourselves. To reflect on this, reflect on this, to pray... Everywhere: "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me! Lord Jesus… Most Holy Mother of God, help me! Most Holy Mother of God, help me!"
You sleep, and when you wake up: "Lord Jesus Christ... Lord Jesus..."
On the road, and everywhere.
Pray all time.
Then this prayer will become a sacrifice for salvation!

Just seeing his face and hearing his voice bring me a great comfort, although I lead a sinful life. What a grace filled Elder he is! God is glorious among His Saints.
If all those poor souls who are depressed knew how this little prayer chase away depression, they may would be freed in a matter of months. And if not freed so soon, it would surely support them with relief.

Nonsense. This silly little mantra doesn't do anything.
He established the Monastery 5 minutes from my house and I never visited until after he departed from this life. I was living in terrible sin, just 5 minutes from a place he must have visited frequently. I could have had his blessing if I had woken up sooner.
This might be my biggest regret in life.
I am a convert to orthodoxy at his first women monastery tor st cosmas.

don't worry, he loves you and is in the kingdom praying for you, at any time you can pray to Saint Elder Ephraim and he will hear your words and it shall touch his heart, you can still communicate with him even though he is no longer on the earth with us.

I REALLY wish we had more footages of Elder Ephraim released/liberated to us all. As someone stated before just seeing his face and hearing his voice brings a great comfort.

The holy man of God from the past he was modestly referring to in this video was probably his Spiritual Father for many decades, Saint Joseph the Hesychast.
I love him so much! Just hearing his voice brings Joy and comfort.

Trust in the Lord and read Book of Revelation very carefully. Especially the letters to 7 churches. Lord says have no fear.

I have a question for my orthodox brothers and sisters. Why pray to Saint Mary? Why not Christ Jesus alone? I thought through Christ Jesus alone we're saved?
I'm actually a native born and raised Arizonan. I am currently a protestant Christian but have deep respect and fascination with the Orthodox (the original) church. Thank you.
This comes from the beginning of the history of the Christian Church... Christians always loved Virgin Mary, as the Mother of Christ-God. We can imagine it like a ladder where steps 8-10 were excellent and anything less than 8 was supposed to lead to hell. But God's mercy was greater than they expected.

He talks about a ladder to Heaven... those standing on the top of the ladder go to Heaven, the others go to hell...
Right... Or also like a grade in a test, if we consider our lives as giving exams to pass to heaven. So the Saints try to pray and beg God to lower the passing grade to heaven, so that more people are saved. Saint Paisios did something similar and said that God lowered in our times the high honours or excellence grade from 10 to 7, but the grade just to pass to heaven, which we call the base or passing grade, He couldn't lower, because He is not only Love but Fair too and lowering that would mean He would contradict Himself as that would conflict with His own Holy and Saving orders

Kind of a metaphor. It's like a grade. 7 out if 10 in order to "pass". Now it's 3/10 as in you can repent by doing way less than the old fathers had to.

Thank you very much. Looked into the ladder of divine decent, but there are 33 steps, so thats not what he was talking about. I just dont want to fall short at the first 3 steps.
Is he in the desert father category? I'm Catholic. So i don't know. What do priests like him do? Orthodoxy is a little bit alien but soothing to me.
He was a disciple of Saint Joseph the Hesychast
He was a monk and what you call an abbott. On Mt. Aphos some monks live away from actual monasteries in very small communities with their Elder as their teacher. Father Ephraim spent his youth in such a community. His Elder was Saint Joseph the Hesychast, as it was already said.

Thank you all. Recently got interested in these monks as the desert Fathers were mentioned in one of my Catholic magazines. It was mentioned how the surrounding communities relied on their prayers and that they have worked miracles. I wanted to know more abt these mysterious souls. And then this channel miraculously entered my main feed.

I know nobody is going to read this comment but coming back here a year later I found a passage of the Bible that resembles the story Elder Ephraim is talking about so I just had to come back and comment. Read Genesis 18:23-33 (Abraham talking to the Lord)
