Here in Germany the Excavator is called Takeuchi. Also quit strange not seeing a Kubota. I have driven Kubota and Bobcat/Doosan but never a Takeuchi.
We have both names here in Sweden, I guess it depends on from where it was imported. Takeuchi is more common though if you look at what's available for sale. I have the same machine (TB125) and it is marked Takeuchi.

Nice job! I have one question though, you dont use any kind of edge restaint to keep bricks from spreading?
What is the name of the stone? Surprised that they didn't run the tamper over the stone after throwing the sand down to consolidate everything. How come no edging to keep the stone in place?

What would you recommend for a 25° to 45° steep driveway for compaction and less of chance of rutting out.
I don't trust my measurements so I would have cut something to use when measuring that gap so it would be consistent.
You were lucky that you didn't have a defined second edge and could lay them in and cut to length. I put a in a patio that is a couple meters wide and poured the step out the patio door, then on the other side, I poured more concrete and had to measure, measure, measure to be sure everything would come out right. In the end, I had less than 6mm gap and didn't cut anything.
Thats what happens when you don't know what you are doing. You spend three times as long making sure you do it right.
