Love watching your videos. Unfortunately your Jeep restoration works are far beyond my capabilities. I've got the, no frills, Jeep GC Laredo 1999/2000 with the ordinary cloth seats. I'm now very envious of your beautiful pillow top leather seats. Cheers from Australia.
I like to consider myself brave enough to try taking anything apart to fix. But I would NEVER attempt to go as far as sewing and fixing the heated seat element in the seats. LOL You sir, are awesome for putting this content out there for anybody who is brave enough!
Fantastic video - Just finished rebuilding my drivers seat and installing new back and bottom covers bought online. I could not have done this job without your video! I must have referred back to this video for your words of wisdom or photos maybe 50 times. You have a very straightforward delivery and good camera coverage/angles that make this a great DIY instructional video. Keep up the good work.
I believe I have used Moog before.. They are pretty decent brand. Have you ever tried rockauto.com..? They have a great selection of economical, OEM, and performance parts
You did it again Dan another video just for me I just got a parts Jeep for the seats and tires and rims. Blow a trans line friday on 476 on my way to reserves and because of you fixed it by my self on the side of the road
Hey DHP. Nice well done new diy video. You mentioned but didnt include the info. Please include a link for the wire connector ring tools at 14:17. Great tutorial. Btw, I already shared this video and put link to this on other forums. Hope this helps grow your subsriber base Dan. Have a awesome day.
@@ProjectDanH I used a 2001 durango replacement seat foam cushion. You are a resourceful man if any of your videos revealed any traits about you. Not adverse to hard work and creative in your solutions. It was a $50 investment I know it first you'll look at it and think that's too slim however it rides high you'll love it big guy. You'll have to trim some of the foam away just eyeball it and just stuff as much of it under that cover as possible.
Great repair! 👍 I couldn't repair the heating wire on my ZJ so I bought new generic elements from china and connected them to the seat wiring. That's a solution to.
Hi Dan. I'm a long time fan of your's Don't know if you have an answer but. I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo ZJ. I want to make a little more room for the rear passenger's, is there any way to move the rear seat back a few inche's? Possibly 5 or 6 inches, really interested to know. I look forward to hearing from you.
Good Job Dan, I wish I could do this sort of work. Dan I live in NJ South of the GW Bridge. Would like to get in touch with you and share like you did with your American and interntional friends, to part of the group. Thanks and Blessings, Rusty
I have a question re my 1999 WJ. I want to swap the front seats to even out the wear. I realize the tracks, switches, ect. need to stay where they are but are the seat and back pads along with mounts interchangeable?
Hey Dan!! Long time follower. What model WJ did these seats come in? I'm having a hell of time finding them. I have cloth at the moment close to mint but would love a set of those. Could I just buy covers like to did? If I could find some zj pillow seats that would be my number one choice lol.
Hi Dan, thanks for your video(s). Have you ever changed out the horizontal power seat motor? I can't seem to figure out how to disconnect both of the long tubes on each side of the motor from each side rail. I bought an entire lower power seat assembly off Ebay, but the horizontal was going bad on it too. It'll last a little while longer, but I'd like to fix my original....it looks way better.
The hole in my ZJ limited seat in the crotch area as if someone was trying to get into the seat to cut the heating element. Yes, the heating element is cut. The upside is when they cut the hole they cut the stitching, so I could probably go in there with that curved needle and stitch it back up if I wanted. Also, I think I have my memory seat problem figured out. Turns out, I slouch sometimes while driving.
@@ProjectDanH Seems like all the limited seats I find in the junkyard are torn in that spot, like the stitching gives way or something. That being said, the only things that don't work on my ZJ are the heated seats and the sunroof. Heated seats I'll probably have to go aftermarket, previous owner siliconed the sunroof shut due to a leak.
@@ProjectDanH I read somewhere that the Sunroof gasket often leaks, and there is no aftermarket solution. I have also heard that most sunroofs have a drain that clogs and that's what leaks. That being said, I haven't looked into it myself.
I’m in Indiana. Going this weekend and there is tons of Xj and wjs in the yard. I’m going for my 99 wj build. Is there anything that your trying to find I mite be able to snag for you. Ours don’t rust like yours lol.
bro, give me your address. i am driving to wherever the hell you are in my 1999 wj with the king of king busted azz seats for a refresh. unbelievable work....great job!
By now you have figured out that your seats will only be good for about 9 months and your welds and bolsters are broke again. at least yo figured out the passenger secret. pay attention to your power steering. The first time you notice a leak, replace the high pressure hose. Cheap and quick.

Between Dan and Doug and Eric, TH-cam is a treasure trove of Jeep DIY. You guys are a Godsend.
It's not as bad as it seems. It's not like getting your AA in Electrical Engineering Technology
You swear like a sailor but deep down you're a "JEEP TAYLOR"! Got to say that was a lot of tedious work but this is " JEEP MY LIFE"!!!

Hi dan, how are you? Do you know where is the power seat memory module ??
Hey! Power seat memory module is usually located under the passenger seat or driver seat.. its tucked up into the seat frame.
Where can I get those -+ probs you used on the dewalt?

Do I need to remove battery when removing seats?
No, you need your battery in to move the seat back and forth to get to the bolts

Nothing sexier than a fully grown man sawing up Jeep seat cover in his kitchen. I should do that for my ZJ.
Would a WJ 2000 driver seat fit on a 98 zj drive seat? (Power seat)
Yes, Seats would have to be swapped onto the frame.
@@ProjectDanH thanks. How abot replacing the driver power seat (zj) with a manual seat. (Zj also, same year?)
