Why listen. Well his exp in the regiment and what he has done in his career. Down to earth man lucky to have been in his company and spent time with this awsome b man
No whinging, back biting or running off at the mouth!!!! (well, not till later!) I miss those days!!! DH, you're a star for downloading this, brilliant stuff!!
I vaguely remember this series, and enjoyed watching it on YT, thanks for putting it up. It is amazing how different the attitudes of the survivors are compared to those of the more recent BG programmes. Lofty and Paul are great teachers.
Yes a different breed & the only added drama to the series was a lesson on looking after each other, glad I got it posted for others to see, thanks for taking the time to watch it & comment
I did the survival course in the British Army, run by the SAS. Problem with this, there was no leader, typical cocoa. You've got to have a team, leader, plans to survive. The mouthy civil is a pain. Needs an upgrade to his mouth, eventually requiring a medic or dentist. Just get on with what's required. People, the blokes are just a pain in the arse.
lofty is such a great professional,i have met him and enjoyed a cuppa with him ,thanks for putting up with ,richard who talks a lot lol................so many storys
@@Basha72 I was in lofty kitchen having a brew and sharing ideas. On another visit he signed his books for me and gave me one of his survival knives such a honest guy

Did I hear lofty say "we've got plenty of protein there Paul "as he put the puffball into his bag? fungi have no nutritional to the best of my knowledge.

I’d like to see a programme made now with the current world leaders stranded on an island but sadly this island has no resources 🥲 - except for one tin of Pedigree Chum. It would be filmed and aired in real time over the course of however long it took for the last stench of Pedigree exhaled breath. Get your popcorn and settle in ...👍👍
Did a survival course with Lofty. Learned a ton from him. Lovely bloke, a real gent.
Thanks for adding. It’s brought back lots of happy memories from my childhood before tech took over.
Thank you for this, what a shame it would be to lose this series.
When I was a kid, I loved this show and Lofty is brilliant.

Thanks for this awesome video!!! Very informative! Lofty is one of greatest!
Roberto
Glad you've enjoyed it 👍
That was gold
at 19:40 the 2 of them discussing team dynamics, that's brilliant. You cannot be in the SAS if you can't work in a team and know about team dynamics
thanks for sharing
Brilliant to watch well done lofty .
Great video - thank you!
Have you met lofty in person he is so funny Alot of story's and fun guy to chat with
Yes met him a fair few times, talked about a mutual friend who served during his time in the Regiment, hence my interest 👍

wow thank you for the upload
Lofty came to my senior school for a talk(back in the 80s)I always remember a lad asked him if the SAS was in Vietnam....He said no!!😉
The Australian SAS were though...Just not the Brits
@@kickboxerforever00 some on attachment, not officialsBritish Army.
No, the Vietnam War is I think the only post WW2 US operation where the British Army didn't participate. Hence the result.
I wonder where they all are now

As soon as someone sticks their hand up and says I'm leader, you know you have a meal for tonight, because they are the first ones in the pot.
omg. 1 minute in and I thought here we go, broken hip lol
Things that lofty taught back in the early days of the 70s are taught day
Way better than bear grills show. 👍🏻
Bear who?
Bear arse
Wouldn't it be cool if one of the people that took part in this made a comment on here
It would be kind of cool 👍
Henrietta and Gary didn't get up to anything off camera or anything then... subtle.
It happens lol. Best part of being in the woods right? 💕
JUSTICE IS COMING..
Mark living in Ealing, where his survival skills would be fully utilised these days, lol.Hopefully they taught him CQB as well!😅
Brilliant times. I wonder where they are now?. Any idea?, that bearded nurse was a bit of a tool.
MOOSEDOWNUNDER no idea, would be good if they got them together again
Was he not a tool maker before becoming a nurse?
Who rembers lofty on Duncan dares
i remember lofty and paul from being two times outside on their courses
Some of it is on TH-cam.
Great.......nothing else to say.
Lofty was asked once how he would get on with Bear Grylls on a desert island. He replied he’d be a stone heavier when he returned home 😅
Lol sorry just read the "all tools were found on the island" caption 😬
Got my doubts about John. Not a team player, critical, and gobby.
Where are Lofty & PK Brown now?
Stephen Keay lofty back in Hereford doing ok, don’t know about Paul
@@Basha72 worked with both of them during the 80's.
It looks like they are given a harder time, than tv program SAS who dares wins.
Can a hammer and nails fit in a survival tin?
No! Only a microwave oven and a tv screen.
with 2 ton of timber and tarps.
I think the US needs a show like this instead of that bullsh*t Survivor show.
they will never make it back to new york in that raft .
I,ll bet some individuals could make it across the English channel on it!lol.
Was the blonde woman really 45?
Everybody looked older than their age back in the eighties lol
Joke! She was 450!

His Skills have served him & many others over the years very well, it’s a misconception that mushrooms provide little nutritional value

I guess google has misled me about the mushroom.

Yes...and in June and April too. Even in Elisabeth and Caroline.

Worth looking it up, several sources of info with nutritional info from fungi 👍🍄🍄

Geez none of them are even wearing appropriate clothing..😩
Just typical clothes of the time, not everyone that finds themselves in a survival situation are dressed to impress 😉
