Met Lofty when I was in the Cub Scouts. My first camping trip as a Sixer and he patiently taught us survival skills I still remember to this day. Absolute legend who inspired my lifelong love of wilderness survival. RIP Lofty 🇬🇧🙏🏼🇬🇧
I remember watching this as a youngster. Poor Peter Duncan was always getting tasks that he was ill suited for. He was thrown onto the Royal Marine Commando course after this :D
Remembered coming home from school to watch this it was the first time I heard of lofty and survival and I was hooked days later going to the woods to build a camp
04:24 I recognise the base of pen y fan in Brecon. There's a wooden footbridge there now, where they ford the stream. It's the start of the main footpath up the mountain, starting at the main car park, about 400m away from the storey arms.

Has he passed away? He was at the bushcraft show at the end of May.
@@jimbrown9539 Glad you said that...when did he die?

Not a bad performance on the 30
miler though. Peter Duncan had the testicular fortitude to try things most wouldn’t dare. Respect.
I did the location sound for this, remmember it well.

It’s on TH-cam 👍
Thank you so much for sharing this video of a true legend!
Lofty started me in survival in 1987 and I received training several times from the SAS. I've been practicing and teaching survival ever since.
Was he a hard task master?
What a guy, lofty so kind and had a few brews with him and other things ,great to be in your company sir
Lofty still a legend. Other so called survival experts you would follow only out of curiosity. Lofty you would follow to the ends of the earth.
I love this.......Duncan.......are bless.....
Great guys,I don’t think Peter knew how tough it would be.

Great stuff !!!!!
Bear and Ray are good, but Lofty should be the go-to for no bullshit survival lessons
Ray is a (expert) bushcrafter at heart whereas Lofty is an all round military based survival expert. Both great guys.
@@redpillnibbler4423And Bear should be band from survival shows altogether, he's a complete idiot.
Any chance of part 1
part 1??
Lofty, youngest man to have passed SAS selection at only 18 yrs old, he's done lots for the SAS, counter terrorism, combat survival etc etc...
He has an incessantly keen mind,I think that’s his ‘secret’.
@@redpillnibbler4423 I think that's the secret of all elite service men and women 💪
4:28 Beginning of “The Fan Dance”
When I saw the cover shot I thought it was Bin Laden.
