Ry, I've done extensive work on my `08 Xterra, and many of the vids you have made available confirm, or reveal the means to make the fix happen. Great work, and thank you!
I just picked up a used 2008 Xterra and yep...washer fluid indicator light won't go off. Added fluid the day I bought it and it miraculously disappeared! Thanks for the video...now I know how to fix it. [thumbs up!]
Ry, thank you so much for the video. I managed to do the install without much problem. That stupid red connector, I can’t figure the thing out. I’m going to mess with it tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll get it off. Thanks for the awesome video!
Great video, thank you! Straight to the point, very easy to understand your steps and you had all the needed angles covered. Great job! You earned my subscription for sure. God bless you for helping us all with your awesome videos.
My rear washer sprayer doesn’t work, and when I turn it on, it leaks into foot well of passenger side. Do you think this is a leak in the hose? Or somthing right by the pump?
The pipe runs up the A pillar into the headliner to make it back to the back window. Pull off your A pillar cover, and you'll probably find it.. likely just a broken coupler
Thank you! This helped out soooo much. Even worked out cuz I was to lazy to jack up the car and remove the tire but I still had enough room to replace it. Thank you small hands and arms. Lol
Hey Ry, love the videos. I have a 2007 Xterra. I am having a problem where the windshield fluid doesnt spray on my back windshield. The nozzle appears clean. Do you have any thoughts on why or how I can figure out what is wrong? Either way thanks for helping me learn so much about my own vehicle! :)
Of course! Working on your own car is awesome right? Makes you like it more. Anyway, Can you hear the pump running when you turn on the juice? Also do the front ones work?
+Victoria Kleber odd, if you are sure they are clean then this would be my next step. Wait until you run your washer fluid tank almost empty, then put some water in it. Have someone get in the car and wait for your signal. Then remove the rubber hoses coming out of the pump. Water will then start pour out but thats ok. Just act fast. Tell the person to turn on the rear nozzles. If the pump sprays the water then you know that portion is good and the issue is in the line somewhere. If it does not then you know its the pump. Don't forget when you're done to run all of the water out and put regular washer fluid back in.
SuperGlue followed by melted hot glue is a good one-two punch, especially at the seam, to prevent future leaks. What is your opinion about using a two-part epoxy like JB Weld?
This is awesome! Freaking mechanic quoted me $330 to replace it all because it’s cracked. I asked if it could be repaired and he said no. Money is tight for me right now and you saved me a bundle! So thx! Do you know anything about the wiring by chance? My pup chewed through some wires under the steering column and it’s caused a host of other issues. Thx again, brother!
Hi Ry my windows sometimes can't be raised or let down from the drivers panel but if I go to the actual window to lower or raise it it works fine. So local mechanic said I have to replace some kind of master controller panel. This seems pretty easy but I don't know, maybe you would go over how to take it out?
On my 08 the washer is opposite the way it should be on the switch (front sprays back and back sprays front). I didn’t see 2 pumps but I did see 2 hoses (I think). Would it be safe to assume to fix my situation I would swap the hoses on the tank?
My Xterra drivers side sprayer has a weak jet. I poked it with a needle and it still sprays weak. Possible leak downstream? Any tips and help on how to find it?
I have a 2012 Frontier with the same issue. I replaced the jets (Amazon had some) and it worked for a while. Now it's intermittent. If anyone has any info please share.
Bought an 06. When the front wipers operate, the rear washer sprays fluids. Vise versa. I am thinking it's the hoses of the pump are connected opposite.
I'm here because my reservoir is cracked on my Nissan Xterra. The guys at Valvoline let me hear it when they wasted a bunch of washer fluid trying to fill it up
Mine rattled for years but never leaked all that much. It is still loose and it sounds like you have a suspension rattle in your front right. More crap Nissan parts.
How do you pull off the red sensor???? The black one came off like it was nothing but the three reds are being a pain.... Please help. I have used my hands and pliers. They look like they have tabs I have pushed them down its not working.... I have a 04
Why is this so complicated for a simple little reservoir? Stupid and expensive for those who can't put it themselves. I was quoted like $300 to put in a new one
What a crap video,... is dude working off a jack w/out a jack stand Did he really do this teardown before and fixed his tank with bubblegum and baling wire?
What a crap comment,... Is dude really taking his time 2 be rude for no reason Did he really come here to learn how to take a tank out and complain about jack stands? Grow up..

Dude! Thanks for mentioning the pump. That's the problem I was chasing and you instantly cured the migraine that was building. Cheers
Glad to help dude!

Hope it worked out for you.
Thanks.. you answered all my questions about this.. 08 Pathfinder here.
Ry, you been a big help to many of us with the 2nd gen X. Can you do a video on how to change the power steering fluid and brake fluid? Thanks man.
I have the brake fluid video. Might do the PS someday. Not needed at the moment.
Very helpful. Thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you for the informative video!
About to perform a replacement and this is just what I needed :)
So glad to help!
Thasks, this is literally the only problem my dad's 2007 has ever had...
Thasks?
Thanks again! Keep them coming. I want to keep my 05 running for years to come and save money doing it myself. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Will do!
Thanks for making this video... I'm planning on just buying a whole new tank when spring arrives.
👍🏻

@@Rythecarguy please never stop helping the Xterra community haha. Thank you!!!
Thanks for the video man, saved me a trip to the mechanic. I never would have guessed to yank the nozzle!! That pretty much is the easiest part lol
Excellent video. The presentation and filming is superb. Thank you very much and best wishes.
Calking works amazing
👍🏻
Gracias ! Thank you for your video. I am try to do this today. I let you know.
From Qatar 🇶🇦
Good job 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you
Great video ! My colleague jokingly suggest I use Flex Seal to coat the leak on my reservoir. LoL, and that might be a great idea!
Cant hurt!! Not like you’re going to see it.
Great video helped alot. Thank You.
Thank you! This helped out soooo much. Even worked out cuz I was to lazy to jack up the car and remove the tire but I still had enough room to replace it. Thank you small hands and arms. Lol
Nice! Glad it worked out.
Great, now I know I can do it myself. Instead of paying at least $150, plus the tank. I will let you know how it went. thanks
Nice! You're gunna crush it
hello Ray good video as always. I have a 2nd generation xterra can you make a video how to replace the shift stick bushing some time in the future.
Will this method work on a 2020 pathfinder?
Is the access and removal for a 2003 the same? Through the wheel well ?
🙄🤦
Thanks for video it's gonna help a lot in future
+Eastendhunter9 No problem!
Ry the car guy is working
I'm thinking cleaning/sanding around the cracked area, then using epoxy to seal and hold the sides of the crack together?
Thanks mate, job for tomorrow now i know where to start
Glad I could help! Please consider subscribing to keep up on the helpful videos.
Thanks so much for the info
You're welcome
Thank you so much!!! You are a life saver! 😄
+Daryl Greene my pleasure, I hope it helps you! Have a great week!
WHat year is this for? my 2004 xterra the washer fluid tank is in the front grill towards the drivers side of the middle of vehicle?
Thank you👍🏼👍🏼
You're welcome! 😃

Thanks, Ry!!
Thanks, great video! :)
What year model Xterras is this for?
2005-2015
Thanks Ry, really that's helped me too much, well done.
Ry are you able to recommend a pump for the reservoir? The one I ordered from Advanced Auto doesn’t fit!
I never shopped for just the pump. I just replaced the whole take.
well explained and video shoy
What color are you using for this job bro?
Cool. Very concise. Thank you.
This is awesome! Freaking mechanic quoted me $330 to replace it all because it’s cracked. I asked if it could be repaired and he said no. Money is tight for me right now and you saved me a bundle! So thx!

Glad to help! Sorry but I dont know anything offhand about the wiring under the column. Other than that its important lol.
good video thank you
If one was trying to delete a windshield washer mechanism/fluid reservoir would it be as simple as removing it?
Yep and you many just want to plug the holes. But that would just be for looks.
@@Rythecarguy like the hood ones? Because my hose connector broke at the split off for the hood hose so I could delete the rest and leave the nipples

So local mechanic said I have to replace some kind of master controller panel. This seems pretty easy but I don't know, maybe you would go over how to take it out?
I'm sorry but I cannot. My windows are manual crank windows.

Yep! Just swap the hoses. I did that when I took my tank out for the first time. Nice and easy, don't even need to remove the tank.
Would RTV silicone or Tank Seal work for the cracks?
It might! It's all pretty low pressure.
Nice pro thanks 👍
Is it the same thing for a Pathfinder 2000 ? There's no water coming though the windshield and I think the filter it's blocked...
My level sensor is faulty. Is that replaceable.
Everything is!
Was it hard to reinstall the inner fender?
+Wayne Beck no, I don't think it was.
Bought an 06. When the front wipers operate, the rear washer sprays fluids. Vise versa.
I am thinking it's the hoses of the pump are connected opposite.
That’s correct. Just swap the hoses and you are good. Nice and easy job. You won’t even have to remove the tank.

what about a 1995 windshield washer pump?
Where is the pump?
Attached to the tank
@@Rythecarguy thanks I have to replace mine
Hope it goes well!
you awesome 👍
My tank on my 05 Pathy has a crack near the bottom like this one.
Can you do this without taking the tire off
Yes, its just a little tough to get the tank all the way out. The first time I did it was with the tire still on.
I just installed a new windshield tank, and it started leaking. It's not so much, but it is droplets
If u can't fix it with duct tape then your just not using enough duct tape 😂
😂
Use jb weld
Good idea.
I'm guess it's pretty much the same deal on a Frontier.
Yep! Just about the same. Almost all of my Xterra videos can be applied to the frontier.
Mine rattled for years but never leaked all that much. It is still loose and it sounds like you have a suspension rattle in your front right. More crap Nissan parts.
