Todd Tuckey shows you a hard to find Bally SAFECRACKER Pinball Machine which is smaller than all other pinball machines. This Pat Lawlor designed game offered a "Magic Token" as a reward for cracking the Safe in the bank. Your game is timed...instead of counting balls. You can earn bonus time too, and once you light one of three ways of getting to the vault, you can then play the "board game" located in the head of the machine. Try to avoid the guards and watch dogs and pick up extra cash and awards from the Teller, avoid the alarms and boobytraps!
Also, Todd compares the Stern GHOSTBUSTERS Pro and Premium Pinball Machines, and also shows a Stern TRANSFORMERS DECEPTICON. Then, a Bally Midway MS PACMAN with new side art. Of course, there is always the usual nonsense including reading some letters! The SAFECRACKER video portion starts at 9:30 if you want to skip ahead!

I do not hate or dislike any of the other legendary designers of pinball. But Pat Lawlor made the most innovative machines out there. The ideas are simple and revolutionairy. You can go and play a casual game and be happy you got the multiball, a jackpot and even a hi score. OR you can go all the way and get to the final goal.

For me, one of the very top, 'elite' pinball machines, true genius, as mentioned in the video.

I was a delivery driver for almost 15 years and very few customers ever tip. I would carry an old disgusting refrigerator downstairs then bring up their nice clean new fridge without even touching a wall not even the slightest scratch and most of the time wouldn't get a tip. Customers did and some were very generous and every time they would tip I would express great gratitude. Thank you so much for mentioning that in this video. I really like this stuff, just as a nostalgia trip more than anything but really does bring me back to my childhood and i want to thank you for bringing us into your world.

Yes...I am continually surprised about the tipping...I have always tipped and never will stop...and I will NEVER get accused of being a BAD tipper either!

its just common courtesy that when you just watched a guy lug this big bulky thing out and another in and not scratch a thing or damage a wall you should tip, but apparently that concept is lost on some people

The reason for the connection to Mortal Kombat was that Ed Boon and Pat worked together many times. In Fun House Ed Boon (creator of Mortal Kombat) is the voice or Rudy.

I originally had a comment about how the title of the video was misleading, since the first 10 minutes wasn't at all Safe Cracker related. Then I realized that the video is a little over 40 minutes long and everything after the 9 1/2 minute mark is Safe Cracker related. Don't mind me, I'm an idiot.
Nice video. I just started playing this table on Pinball FX3, not really knowing what the hell I'm doing. Sometimes I'd play and my time would run out almost instantly, other times I'd be on that 45 minutes for ages. Sometimes I'd get into the board game portion really fast, other times I wouldn't even get close.
I gotta say, I love videos like this, where someone goes totally in-depth with a table. See, I never really got into pinball back in the day. Nowadays I have horrible anxiety, which prevents me from going out looking for tables to play, and there's no way in hell I can get myself to go to an expo or something (not that I could afford it anyway). And I can't afford my own table. Sooooo...Digital Pinball is my thing. I would love to play real tables, but given the issues I have with that, I rely on my Xbox. Games like Pinball FX3, Pinball Arcade, and Zaccaria Pinball. I currently own(digitally) around 73 tables across the three games, and I plan to buy more as I go. But, despite being fully digital for me, I love seeing this kind of video. Where someone will bring the camera in close to the table to give close ups of the various parts and features, where someone will lift the field up to show all the electronics involved, and it's especially nice seeing someone play the physical table. Those sounds, the clunks, clinks, dings, etc...they're great. A little disappointed this video didn't have a full section dedicated to playing at least one full game on here, maybe with a tripod set up and stuff (though I guess it was a table being sold, so..ya know. But it still woulda been neat.)
Safe Cracker is a weird table. When it was first added to Pinball FX3 fairly recently, a lot of people hated this table, and said it's one of the worst tables from Bally. I can definitely understand why people had that sentiment. It's weird, and hard to understand. It plays differently than a normal 3-ball table. It's a lot smaller than a normal table too, so it's not super easy. Then you have the back glass with it's board game that makes you stop playing Pinball for a bit. It's just strange. BUT, once you learn how it works, it's a lot less problematic. You know what to shoot for, where to shoot, what things do. I like it more than I did the first time I played it anyway. (It's also confusing to me that a lot of people playing Pinball FX3 dislike it, considering a lot of the original tables do strange things too. Paranormal has a back glass minigame, the Hercules table is tiny, Guardians of the Galaxy starts you in Multiball, the Infinity Gauntlet table will straight up flip the table upside down, or mess with the physics. It's not like Pinball FX3 players are strangers to weird table features.)

I've been a pinball junkie since the early 90's, and obviously nothing can truely replace every aspect of playing on a real table. I have not played with TPA so I can't offer any direct experience. I am planning on building my own VPin cabinet and was originally going to use TPA specifically due to the fact that they had the Willams and Bally licensed tables, but now Zen has bought those rights so I will be going with FX3 once they release Funhouse, Twilight Zone, and Safecracker (my all-time top 3). However I do have Pinball Hall of Fame: The Willams Collection for PC (bought specifically for Funhouse and Twilight Zone), and the physics are pretty good. The ball will take a wonky/unearthly bounce now and then but it's still very playable, especially to an addict who can't afford to buy a real machine or do a 6 hour round trip to the nearest arcade with pinball lol! TPA and Zen physics are supposed to be orders of magnitude better (Pinball Arcade came out 10 years ago) so I know I would not be disappointed.

played this many times at the Vancouver, Canada pinball expo. One tough machine. Maybe the flippers were in need of a rebuild, but it was almost impossible to get the ball up the ramp. If this is normal operation for this game, no wonder it was a fail. I've watched many people try it and a 3 ball game is over in less than 1 minute. Watch in this video how fast the balls drain between the flippers. Not a player friendly game.
