Aaron is hands-down the BEST Photoshop instructor I've seen. I've looked all over for tutorials and nothing comes close to Aaron and Phlearn. Great techniques, great sense of humor - just all around first class! Well done - love the videos.
Every one of your videos is fantastic and easy to understand. People that disliked it must be sick. Great tutorial, keep up the great works. Much love from Cambodia
Quick tip: I saw the outtakes an remembered a lesson on a speech class. Before recording a session, imitate the sounds that a horse do. Not kidding. Hold your breath and do the brrrrrr sound a couple of times. Have a wine cork around, bite it and talk a bit using it. That way you can work out your mouth muscles and "sync" them before the shoot. That way the tongue won't get in the way of the speech :) Great video. !
Amazing Tutorial. Best Part is that he explains it without rush and also in the end he explains the process step by step! Loved it! Thanks a Lot Aaron!!
*big thumbs down on this one.* you could use displace filter for fabric distortions but, seriously, absolutely a simple double click to bring the highlights in from underlying layer through blending options, with perfect control and realistic rendering. No extra layers, perfect outcome. Multiplying shadows on an already multiplied pattern is again plain wrong flol. Wonder what you smoked during this one, because your other tutorials are, smoking ;) greetings.
PRO PS TIP: 2:40 -- Copy the newly sized pattern image (CNTRL/CMD + J), move it near to where you want the repeating to occur, change the copy layer's Blend Mode to DIFFERENCE, zoom in so that you start to see pixels, select Move Tool and use arrow keys until all that you see is black. Change Blend Mode to NORMAL. Zoom out and repeat if needed. Shift-click to select all pattern copy layers and the original pattern layer then hit CNTRL/CMD + E to merge them into one layer. IMPORTANT -- DO NOT change the opacity at any point during this process! Continue Phlearn tutorial as normal. ***ALWAYS SAVE OFTEN!***
Deadly! I love your videos..... and I'm a photosho starter and have learned loads from you so far! .... your videos are brilliant! Hello from Dublin Ireland!
Just want to thank you for all the time you take to put these videos together, and hope that your are suitably rewarded. I have to wonder what might motivate anyone, ever, to give you a thumbs down. Also wonder if it might be appropriate to demonstrate how to recover lost or erroneously deleted work, if this is possible??
As usual, your videos are detailed, yet easy to follow and each step is clearly outlined and communicated. Your pacing is also perfect and it's so easy to enjoy watching since you clearly have fun using photoshop. Thank you for posting these up.
Well, shift delete on my machine deletes the selection, it doesn't give me a fill command and I don't know where to find it - it's not a few fill layer...stuck at 8:15...have to find another video :(
hi, nice video, i just want to know if we have to change pattern to plain then how to do..............like if someone wearing check or striped, then how to change it to plain ...
This video is great. I have project to do where I have to remove wrinkles from clothing but the trick is that clothing has patterns. Do you have any ideas how to do that.
Hey, thanks for the tutorial. It seems quite easy to do, but I got stock on CMD +CRTL+I. as nothing happened on inverting and making the layer mask black. What should I do then .Thanks 😊
Works perfectly for white clothing because of method by which multiply works..any suggestions how to carry out the same thing with different color clothing...say red?
thanks aaron ,if i click shift+delete its done change the clothes color or drawing not display userinterface to click white ,remember i use photoshop cs6 extended ,but all thing maybe okey and i thanks you again mr.aaron
Will this technique work for applying the Pattern to a DARK-colored fabric? Would not the Multiply blend modes used at the end darken both the shadows and the Pattern elements too much? Should one de-saturate the Background fabric color before beginning this technique?
to automate this for multiple patterns non-destructively using a smart object, you can use puppet warp and it's push/pull pins front/back to simulate the in front and behind fabric folds.
Hi Plearn, first get tutorial. Thanks! I'm not a pro like you and it will probably show with my questions. With the folds of the dress, could you use, I think it's called, displacement mapping. I've that it. It's the technique used to put like fake tatoos on and image? Thx in advance for your reply. Rich Ard
Is this how you create a mockup? How can i use these settings multiple times? Meaning i want to save this document and be able to add a new pattern again, retaining all these settings. Should i convert something to smart objects?
Thanks, Phlearn. After all these years of using PS I didn't know you could right click the pen tool to convert the path into a selection...and have the option of feathering it too! It's a time saver versus having to go to the paths menu to begin that process.
cmd+enter (on a Mac) does the same but without the option of having a feather. I don't know what the shortcut would be on a PC, but I assume CTRL+enter
Hi! I would like to export more than 1 image with different patterns from it after I have finished this tutorial. What should I do? Doing this process with all of my different pattern or there is an easy way to change the pattern with a few clicks. Thank for your help!
amazing sir, you have helped me a lot in progressing from a beginner to an intermediate level photo-shopper.. and i bet i will become an expert one day just because of you..
Do you have a tutorial in how to change clothes/wardrobe? for example, you have a person, you want to put a completely new wardrobe on that person? Thanks .
woow bro, thx i just discovered u today and i really cant get enough of your tutorials.. thx a million man.. u such a pro i thought i knew photoshop but i see i am actually a far cry from knowing it all
The fabric color and shadows darken for a darker picture, when these steps are followed. How can i make the fabric closer to the pattern applied for a darker fabric?
Just wondering if you are able to do this on a garment that has color or a pattern already, thats not black or white, only, and are still able to keep the folds and creases?
Aaron is hands-down the BEST Photoshop instructor I've seen. I've looked all over for tutorials and nothing comes close to Aaron and Phlearn. Great techniques, great sense of humor - just all around first class!

Wow! Thank you, San Val, for that excellent tip! But why must one not change opacity during this process?
Because otherwise it wouldn't turn into black
Nice tip,San Val. That's the technique you use every time you need to align a duplicated object with the original?
Caio Xavier Yes, Works wonders

Aaron -- Please show us how to choose when to use this technique, as opposed to using a Displacement Map technique?
to automate this for multiple patterns non-destructively using a smart object, you can use puppet warp and it's push/pull pins front/back to simulate the in front and behind fabric folds.

Hi, thank you for your video!! Can I also do it on Adobe Illustrator or it works only on Photoshop?
Aaron, what about using a displacement map and the distort filter? Is this method the best?
Amazing as aways. Thanks Aaron! Hugs from Brazil!
When I first started I could import samples but now everti I do so it just gives the soft 1. I want to cut, stretch and edit the
Outstanding. This just might save me some money.

Do you have anything on blending photos of like lightning or fireworks?
Im just curious, couldn’t you use the majic wand tool to select only the shirt outline? Or is there a reason why you didn’t?
