How does that work for cross court shots, do you not need to open up to play those shots?
You don’t have to open up. Many players stay closed and then hit the cross court because it disguises the shot a lot better. Or they open up on purpose to show a cross court and then play a drive. But generally for your stability and movement staying closed will benefit you and your movement.
when do you the drives you open up too, is that because it was after the followthrough?
I know what you mean. On the forehand you naturally tend to open up a bit more. But yeah trying to stay as square as possible is the goal. Could definitely be more square in the drives in the video.
