I walked on to the football team at Geneva College in Pennsylvania, and after starting at free safety for two years, I earned a scholarship at a division 1 program, and was able to get a 4 year degree out of it. No shame in walking on to a small Christian school team.
Oak hills student here. The team was assembled as an opportunity to obtain volunteer hours for the schools church. Non of these guys have scholarships to play, actually most of them didn’t touch a basketball since middle school. But that qualified them for having “experienced competitive basketball at any level” to be picked up. Great group of guys, I’m not sure why they played a team like NDSU though.
Sure this was an incredible blowout game but calling christian college “pathetic is just plain rude. NDSU is a D1 team playing a non-profit school’s team that isn’t even in the NCAA. What did we think would happen? The fact that we’re broadcasting this like as if Oak hill should be ashamed is in itself pathetic. Oak hill played the game and tried to win even when the odds were against them which is always admirable in my opinion.
Besides, it's good experience for Oak Hill players and coach. They can get better in the game that way. The word for it is "challenge". Appreciated by people who actually learn stuff.
If they coulda made just 30% of their shots they woulda scored 40 or 50 and had a respectable loss to a D1. They knew what they were doing, they just couldn't shoot

Oak Hills is not in the NCAA, NAIA, or NJCAA(junior colleges). Their is no reason they should have even been there unless they’re dominating their league which I doubt

Believe it or not Oak Hills Christian College actually won 6 games during this same season, including beating one team by nearly 50 points. Of course that team, Free Lutheran Bible College, lost every game including losing one game by more than 100 points.
This game is a perfect example why there should be a " Mercy Rule " in amateur basketball. If a team leads by 35+ points at the half, the game is automatically forfeited. In the second half, if a team attains a 50-point lead, the game is also automatically ended. This is to prevent further unnecessary humiliation for the losing team.
These are adults. Young adults, but adults nonetheless. Coddling will only hurt them in the long run. Of course, going to a fanatical Christian college will also, but that's another discussion.

They deserve their shots to play the big boys, as do the D1 teams need tune up games to assess their talent for the regular season. A decent D3 school would at least keep it to within 50-60. Oak Hill Christian isn't even an NCAA team, they're part of the Christian College Athletic Association.

They outrebound every single shot and get second and third chances and get points every single play and the other team can rarely score and rarely offensive rebound

There were 2 highschool teams against each other... and one got beat bad... the score was like 120-02. The losing team only scored 1 basket. However, this Oak Hills team looks to be playing on about the same level as I could ever play on my best day. I can kind of look the part from a quick glance, but when the heat is on, I just fumble and kick the ball all over the place. Not to mention I can't hit the ocean from a boat.
