I hope Oatis, James Smith & Tim Smith can fill justin Eboigbe's role.. Justin Eboigbe was more dominant then he gets credit for he was by far our best last year on the DL and someone has to step up like he did last year because he was flying all over the place for his size

Likely will need to be Oatis. He was banged up all year so he was probably 80% last year so he should be a beast if healthy. Tim Smith hasn’t lived up to the hype. Hope he breaks out but I’m not optimistic. I’m a big James Smith guy but apparently he is running with the 3’s which is crazy given his talent.
Eboigbe spent MOST of his time in TitleTown early being just about as unproductive,and quite frankly,as poorly Coached and as weak a DLineman that I have EVER seen on a Power-5 outfit and in THE SEC..THEN...The season before last? A lightbulb came on and his ass caught fire. Those 1st 2-3 games he began to play well. And then the neck issue. And last season he was a really good,solid, player,if not more than that.To come back from the neck issue he had,play as well as he did,and earn his oppy in the NFL? So great...And CFR gets a lot of the credit.
IF this ballclub becomes elite on defense? Tim Smith WILL NOT get major snaps,unless the light comes on for him,ala Justin and Phil Mathis....But IF this defense becomes elite? I fully expect Oatis to be a part of it,and of course James Smith.....He can be as dominant as he wants to be...

Yeah the current commits seem like development investments we need 1 that's pretty much ready to go in the top 10 like Justice Terry or Jahkeem Stewart in the 26 class they are must get players
They can both play either DT OR Bandit either one.. and both put together would be hell on opposing teams
We have too many D-line on scholarship unless you want to pull their free rides to upgrade. Not saying it couldn’t happen but it rarely does

Jimmy makes some good points about NIL but to say most kids don’t go for the max money makes zero sense. The % of players that make it to the pros is tiny. As the vast majority have no future earning power in sports it makes total sense for most kids to go for the biggest payday.
If Ty Haywood goes through spring ball this year he will see meaningful snaps and possibly start at right or left tackle next season. He’s more of the athletic prototype that Deboer likes, the guys we got now are a bunch of down hill blocking clunkers lol RTR
