visually and character-wise compelling, incredible drama and smart script.
the female characters are especially refreshing (and ringo is just a legend).
i made this video because swordfather's wisdoms greatly inspired me--and kinuyo's death touched me. mizu's gentleness during her last moments made me cry. overall, i wanted to highlight exactly that.
i listened to swordfather and gave this one my whole.

For what it's worth coming from a random face and voice on the internet blue eye Samurai is a show that is extremely special to me in so many ways. The amount of I really don't know how else to get it across better than heart that has went into the show by the entire ensemble of the people that created it it's just almost unfathomable to me. I have watched it six times and I just keep finding more and more attention to detail put in in almost every single frame it's almost like they haven't wasted a single second in the entire show every part of it was done with artistic intent. The dialogue the camera angles the music choices the landscape the The Voice Direction excetera excetera I could just keep listing. Maybe it's just so special to me because of how much I adore art. And how much I adore seeing people's heart and soul come through in their work. And I know this is only basically a 2 1/2 minute video but I can see you tried to put the same amount of level of heart into making this it absolutely bleeds through every second. It's incredible. Thank you so very much for allowing me to see your art. For allowing me to see your heart through your work. It's so very very beautiful thank you for allowing me to see your brush stroke. I hope you will continue to bless us with it :) especially if you love doing it.

i really get what you mean. as a person of the arts, i value other people's creations and am thrilled when i find something where i can just _feel_ the heart and thought that have been put into it. BES is one such show. it still has a few questions i could pose to it, but the emotion and conviction behind everything are hard to miss.
i tried to demostrate exactly that with this vid, and i'm just so pleased you seem to sense this. it's the highest compliment, really, that i might have got close to replicating the emotional impact of this series. means i'm doing something right.

glad you think so! i didn't create this piece, no. i only own the editing here. the piece is by a russian pianist based out of moscow, vasily nedevin (i put his name up in the intro portion of the video). he doesn't seem to have much of a presence on youtube, though he must be active on russian social media (vkontakte and such).

ditto on that! i'm so for london landscapes and mizu's probable shock at seeing how white people are terrible to other white people as well as the minorities. how fun.
what separates a good from a bad edit is to be able to capture the feeling of whatever it is taking from, it is how a well-trained painter can make a perfect visual copy of a tree with enough time, but a great painter can capture the feeling of that tree in a few strokes. This, this is one of those edits.

This touched some chord deep within and made me want to watch and discover this masterpiece of a show all over again! Mizu is such a wonderfully complex character and to nail her journey so far as a whole is no small feat, but you did it seemingly effortlessly here (although having edited videos myself I know working on this must have been anything but) ❤. The parallels you managed to catch are so many and they are EVERYTHING! I especially loved how you highlighted her gentler moments among the violence, the cracks in the onryo shell 🥹 and I have to echo another comment, what a smart juxtaposition between Swordfather's lesson about art and Fowler's disdain of it, it had flown completely over my head as well! Thank you so very much for this lovely work -- you are definitely walking the path of the artist yourself, and I'm so glad that this made me find your channel 💖

It makes her even more inspiring to me, that after all the trauma she endured (and sadly continues to endure) she still hasn't buried the kinder side of herself completely. It would be completely understandable if she did (and indeed many people seem to overlook this side in favour of her flashier, vengeful side, both in-show and out), and yet it comes to the surface quite often, even when she tries to convince herself and others of the contrary. What a wonderful character (BES is littered with them tbh)

i _so_ agree about mizu! she (also using that pronoun because i see her like that, but i support nb and trans headcanons all the way) is such a light in the dark, how she fights is remarkably passionate because she seems to fight for so much more than just revenge--take the heartbreaking fight in episode five (i won't elaborate here, or we'd be stuck for ages). she's someone who has tried the other way as well, you know? to be the good wife, to be someone 'normal'... oh well.

(yes! I tend to default to feminine by habit because in Italian we don't have neutral pronouns, but definitely supporting all the hcs for mizu too. For sure, she seems to view fighting as a way to relate to the world around her in various ways more than just a revenge tool -- a way of expression in general, just as an artist would and just as you brilliantly demonstrate with this video. It's just who she is, and hopefully the story will let her love and accept that about herself in positive ways eventually 🥺)

oh, that's so curious! in russian, there is a neutral sort of pronoun, but it serves the purpose that _it_ serves in english, and can be derogatory to minorities. reclaiming of that happens in close, tight-knit circles, though. as to my native tongue, grammatical gender simply isn't there.
