Brock was amazing. Hopefully, he heals well. We are all rooting for him. Brady was 6th round at 199. The intangibles and it factors are overlooked by the scouts.

I saw it the first time he took the field in preseason. What jumped out at me was he knew how to play the position. The rest we had to wait for live action. Fingers crossed 🤞 for him going forward.

I think they realize that they might have something in him during the season when he was running the practice squad against the 1st string defense . Fred Warner said that Brock would never make the same mistakes twice and would beat the defense the next time out . I think that 13 weeks playing against the #1 defense with the practice squad showed him that he can play in the nfl and compete with those guys .Brock purdy has the experience and that has a lot to do with it . 4 years of college football D1 . That experience is key to his success. He has great decision making on playing football. I believe if he had more help in college with better players around him he could have been a top college Qb

Brock Purdy played and beat Seattle twice. You already know Seattle watched tape from the first game and tried to expose Purdy in the second game. Purdy adjusted instead and got the second win against Seattle. That is basically proof that Brock Purdy can adjust to defenses.

I'll say it was the dolphins game for me. I never think you see all that much in preseason. Dolphins blitzing the rookie as much as they did and him doing what he did was amazing and then he kept adding to his resume. Ppl want to say who wouldn't succeed with dropping the ball off to cmc. Baker didn't succeed in doing that at Carolina. Kid is special, period.

the fact that a 7th round 4 year college starter and had all the negatives around him, too small, arm isnt strong enough but the main factor about purdy u could never know is that he is very football smart and that he is extremely coachable. he was able to get his arm strength up a good amount compared to college, brock said they helped him change his throwing motion to be a lil more compact which made his release quicker, he said that the arm motion enabled his arm strength improved. he also said he work on getting more arm strength if i remember correctly. his arm strength has gotten to the point where its good enough to make most of the plays but long shots could end up being a few yards short and as long as the target understands that it works.
purdy really has the it factor, he is extremely football smart which allowed him to be able to read the defense i remember when purdy saw something and audibled which kyle is probably the coach that hates audibles more than anyoner else and the audible worked if i remember correctly which kyle calmed down. rookie qbs drafted any whrere would really be able to do that. this 10 yard time was literally just looked over by everyone, but in game u saw something that we lacked and kyle was looking for someone who can move like purdy does.
i dont think hes got a type of weakness that can be countered as the things, he looked like he was a several year vet at qb where being football smart is the type of thing u could use to counter the counter play as soon as he realizes it. also they would also have to be countering kyles play calling at the same time which we know that isnt a thing.
he loves the game of football and is an extremely hard worker.....i remember when interviews were happening for some players and u saw purdy sitting down super concentrated on the ipad to study and understand the offensive scheme as a faster rate than normal. hes willing to do w.e it takes to improve. when his arm was getting better and he couldnt use a football so instead he used a towel to go the extra mile by practicing his throwing motion by himself just sitting there practing the throwing motion and might be helping to get his arm a lil more compact for a better throwing motion.
i believe 100% purdy is that guy and is going to show he is that guy, and he has the it factor that is a rare thing....even steve young himself said purdy has the it factor that can completely change how u player

It only took them a few weeks. Purdy was getting 1-2 reps TOTAL per practice after everyone else. Kyle even said that the decision making and accuracy displayed by Purdy was enough to know. They subsequently cut Nate Sudfeld and ate the $2 million in guaranteed money that they had just given him. For all of your whiners saying that Lance never got an opportunity (he did), let this sink in.

  • @BradHolkesvig

Yes, Brock Purdy did an awesome job last season until his elbow injury. How special is he when he can't even throw a football today and won't know until he's 100% healed? Trey Lance never got a change to show how special he could be during his first season with that finger injury keeping him from playing at a 100% level. Jimmy Garoppolo looked good last season until he was injured, too. It would be awesome to see at least one year in which one quarterback could play a full season without getting injured.

It has nothing to do with how coach feels. It is the eyes and the stats and the top rated quarterback last year. He’s the fastest split 40, quickest release when he sees a play to release of the ball and the layers he throws into. He knows instantly whether to throw high or low and does so perfectly. He can instantly throw 50 yard ball on the money.

  • @jmoricca1

They didn’t know until he came in and played and ran Kyle’s system. Simple as that. That’s why I don’t care what Kyle and John see at practice from QBs. If anyone thought he was this special he wouldn’t have been fighting with Sudfeld for the QB3 spot.

When you can read NFL defenses and make most throws, you have at least a 10 year NFL career. Most QBs fail because they can't read defenses or read them fast enough. Brock is no flash in the pan, he is a poor man's version of Tom Brady with mobility. If he improves, maybe a poor man's version of Drew Brees.
