Great stuff. I'm always amazed at how much larger castles were in Wales on average. When the Normans came here they typically just built towerhouses with a bawn. Functional for the time, but so many were lost to the sands of time.

This is a great castle to visit, also Newton House and indeed the whole estate is a worth while day out. I've been here a couple of times now. Have you guys checked out Carreg Cennen Castle ? It has tunnel... if not is another one to visit.
We also really enjoyed this castle but didn't have time to visit Newton House. We intend to visit again when we can. So many castles and so little time.
It does look interesting. We must add it to the list. Seems like we won't be going anywhere for a little while though due to our new lockdown. Fortunately, we have a few films already shot so we won't run out just yet.

It’s on the list as an eventual destination, but we have a cadw membership so we’re mopping up the many cadw properties first.
