    Enjoy an hour of unconventional rock with Father John Misty and the Black Angels. Singer/songwriter Father John Misty showcases the lush sarcasm of his recent album Pure Comedy. Psych rockers the Black Angels highlight the dark grunge of Death Song.

    Wasn't really into this song for a long time, but then I saw him live and he opened with it. Was quite amazing and it just resonated with the current climate. Now I can't get enough of it.

      osufan871 for me it was the animated official video. Seems pretty damned relevant at this point.
      And the “two wildly different perspectives” video. And the SNL performance after the election where he went apeshit on acid, looked like he was near tears at the “each other’s all we got” line.

      Nah, those guys had better lyrics. Newman's use of irony and humor for social commentary is unmatched. FJM's lyrics fall flat to me, like he wrote them in under an hour while smoking his roommate's weed.

    Were the lyrics written from the perspective of a 16-year-old rich suburban kid who's angry at his parents because they are making him go to Wednesday night church group? It just comes off as lazy irony...yeah, ok, people with beliefs that are different than mine are ruining my fun...I wish FJM would move to the deep end of the pool for at least one song. At least the music and vocals are good.
