Devil Mario, on the other hand, does not care about following the beat, and will only give you a quick, small unsheath noise, plus a slight screen zoom in, as your warning. There is very clearly a difference in difficulty between the two mechanics. I would even argue Devil Mario's attack is harder to dodge than MX's.

there are a lot of slept on songs in this mod but this is genuinely one of the songs that's slept on the hardest. nobody even brings it up when talking about slept on songs that's how hard people sleep on it.

I didn't even ever watch the series as a kid, but something about this song just CLICKED with me from those beginning notes from Devil Mario (I think they were the best part btw). It's not as climatic as All Stars or as dramatic as Unbeatable, but it's just so much better to me for whatever reason. I think it's mostly the vocals that really sell it the most to me, Devil Mario's are just so heavenly and BF's don't annoy me for once. Stunning work.

The fact that the instrumental music is the song that plays before you encounter Bowser in Mario 64 truly shows that there's nothing else left except pain, misery and despair. This song really does give off the feeling that there is really is no hope; exactly just like in Power Star
I already said this from Dusk's official gameplay video of this track, and I'm here to say it now. We get it, Devil Mario sounds similar to D-Side Tricky. Seeing him in a mod makes me feel proud of how much the Power Star Flash animation series (and Mario Kombat, don't forget) has grown such nostalgia from my early days of seeing Mario Flash games and animations.

It's unfortunate that the section staring at 1:13 where he begins glowing red was only a one-time visual thing and not a mechanic. I'm sure someone could write some would make this Mario randomly glow red when he swings his sword, with this swing being a one shot and having slightly different timing.

the beginning vocals, the way they are organized, and Mario's harsh vocals give off a perfect starting feel that I can't describe.

Seeing him in a mod makes me feel proud of how much the Power Star Flash animation series (and Mario Kombat, don't forget) has grown such nostalgia from my early days of seeing Mario Flash games and animations.

It's unfortunate that the section staring at 1:13 where he begins glowing red was only a one-time visual thing and not a mechanic. I'm sure someone could write some would make this Mario randomly glow red when he swings his sword, with this swing being a one shot and having slightly different timing.
