Honestly the last 32 seconds of the song in general hit pretty hard, mainly because Luigi sadly humming exactly how he did at the very beginning hammers home the fact that beta Luigi will never move on from his brother's death and that he's gonna be stuck there, forever grieving, with no one to comfort him.
This song is the best example of “less is more”. No phase shifts, no gimmicks or unique mechanics, just a sad song between a mourning brother and a blue ghost. Awesome work on this melancholic masterpiece!

I love how this mod has the loss of both mario brothers, and both are (almost) polar opposites. IHY Mario is "forced" to kill Luigi because of his jealousy, and Beta Luigi lost mario because he was simply too scared.
@55ocsguy67 my favourite part about IHY luigis death is in the cutscene you can see Mario's visible sadness as he tilts his hat down but has no time to mourn as he must carry on. This whole mod is just incredible
I like how Luigi is so half-hearted in the beginning and end. Like this whole song is just a heartfelt mourning, Luigi letting a lot of his emotions out before he returns to his depressive state.
i feel, now that he has properly mourned, there is hope that this luigi may be able to live on. he is not fated to fail. if he could recover his resolve, maybe he could even undo his mistake. but i doubt it. i just want to see him live on at least, and i could see him doing that.

As a Beta Luigi fan, you’ve made this song more amazing. The original concept went from an overlooked gag from a 2000 demo reel to having full lore to it and evening being its own character. Wonderful.

I love how Totaka's song is used throughout the whole song, most notably at 4:02 in the instrumental; considering its in Luigi's Mansion, it makes sense. It's just such a small detail that you wouldn't expect and it makes the whole song 10x better. Red truly never misses.

From it’s V1, this is a massive glow up! you really captured the melancholic feel that V1 could have done better, and I’m a sucker for sad / calm songs. I love that it has so much more impactful melodies compared to before, especially at 3:21, mario’s lyrics + plus the melodies sounds amazing here. I also love the watery grave motifs here, which is cool since you worked on it too. this song is the best of the mod imo. well done!
This song went from beeing my less favourite track on v1 to one of my favourites in v2, could say its actually my top 1 like seriously you can actually tell how luigi feels in this song, pain, depressed, alone, confused, and every other feelings you can imagine.
This is such a contrast from most of the songs in the mod and I’m all for it. Both melancholic, peaceful, yet filled with an emotional sense of despair. It’s perfect.
Alone and Golden Land is easily the best improved songs. I loved the OG but this just blows it out of the water man! 3:15 - 3:39 was such an unexpected treat, you didn’t have to put in lyrics but by god did you do it.
Love this song to bits and pieces. Genuinely one of my favourites in the entire mod, which is surprising since most of the songs in the mod are upbeat and intense, as well as the fact that the previous version of this song was subpar.
people say this version sounds less somber because his notes aren't as "depressed" sounding, but i think this one feels MORE depressing then the original, the old one sounds more like he's just...singing sad. but this one is basically beta luigi letting out his emotions of greif, ironically to something he's terrified of. he's basically SO sad he's willing to confide to something he is scared of. this version is basically, rather then the song portraying the actual depression, like the original did, it portrays the inner emotions someone would have from such a scenario. where luigi is lamenting "why didn't i just push that much harder?" and i find those emotions are what solidifies a "Sad" song, not just if something "sounds" sad.
Such a glow up from the original! Having the Luigi's mansion theme integrated into the song was amazing. And it's evolved into instead of Luigi just groaning out of tune, he's singing his heart out with such emotion for the loss of his brother... There were certain areas where, if lightning flashed, the shadow Luigi produced on the wall would appear to be floating, as if he were hanging from a noose. This was due to a lighting error. I have an addiction to this song. Not many tunes can make me FEEL, let alone a FNF song, and this did it. Best track in the mod, imo, heck, in FNF history. Keep it up. You’re phenomenal.
This is a huge improvement over V1 and V2, it has this atmosphere that gave me chills, the best song in the mod at the moment, others being All Stars, No Party, Starman Slaughter, Paranoia and Overdue!

V1 of this song was pretty meh, so the difference in quality between that in V2 is massive. I like that they sort of remade the song from the start instead of remixing the original, this one is the perfect mix of the funk while still sticking to the tone of the character. I love the little details throughout the song, the Luigi's mansion melody, the fact that you start this song at full health because Luigi himself has already given up, or the separate sprites for Luigi used at the beginning and end of the song. Easily the best part is 3:20, first time I heard it tbh I didn't even know there were lyrics

I liked the fact that if you listen closely there’s 2 Parts that while they happen to be references they are also foreshadowing the songs that come after this one, some of the song references watery grave (the L is real song from fnf: classified)which foreshadows thalassophobia which is the L is real song for FNF Mario’s Madness, while some of the part starting at 2:07 references I Hate You (IHY) which foreshadows IHY Luigi’s new song and IHY V2, also the entire song feels fitting and emotional for the bad ending of Luigi’s Mansion I also liked the additional detail with the humming

I think this song had one of the best improvements in the mod. What you did with the chromatics is super impressive, considering I've never seen a "humming" chromatic done right before, and that was shown so well around the beginning and end of the song. Mario's segment too, along with Luigi's sadness throughout the song is so emotionally powerful, and I don't care if its for an Fnf song.
Heh. The fact that is so reminiscent of your work on Watery Grave (and even has a motif from it in this song) is such a beautful thing to see and hear... I don't want to sound like a broken record by repeating what I said in the Watery Grave video, except WELL DONE on making this even better than the original and beyond and still capturing that "tragic" feeling without being overexcessive with the melodies or tone as most FNF songs in the past tended to do, even with "melancholic" songs. This was the song i was most hyped about, it's a MASSIVE glowup from it's V1. It adds that feeling of regret, despair and loneliness that the first version was missing and don't even get me started at the lyrics you added.

Just going off of context clues I’m guessing that when Mario says “oh…Mario..” it’s him sort of mocking/mimicking Luigi for when he cries out for Mario in the game, but when Mario needs Luigi’s help he is too scared to help, causing him to be lost forever. While I won’t talk down on anyone who prefers the original version, we all have our own tastes, V2 just feels better overall, V1 to me just doesn’t have anything that makes it memorable aside from I guess the depressing tone, V2 is better to me due to it feeling like it’s not only trying and succeeding to convey Luigi’s sorrow, but it simultaneously feels like a celebration of Luigi’s Mansion, Bf and Gf being ghosts, the Luigi’s Mansion motif that is sang throughout the song, albeit in a more somber tone, the jingle from the game that plays when the mansion lights up in the background, the entire Mario segment! V1 felt like it hyper focused on the depressing elements, but V2, while toning down the depressing tone a bit, turned the song into a love letter to Luigi’s Mansion, and as someone who has played the original game and it’s 3DS remake countless times, I can comfortably say this one got the best glow up and it’s not even close. Again, if you like V1 more, that’s completely fine, you have your reasons for liking it, but the same can be said for those who like V2 more. In the end, we all have different musical tastes and that’s fine.

Its such a good concept, and you masterfully put it into a song that is both fun to play and amazing to listen to. Hearing the theme of luigis mansion through the song, as if luigi is trying to comfort himself because he was too scared to save his big brother, and now he forever sits outside the mansion, where he was too late.

Not only can you hear Totaka's Song throughout the instrumental, they slipped in Winds of Fjords at 2:25 in the instrumental. I recognize that soundfont and progression anywhere. That's the last thing I expected, yet it fits really well amid the melancholy theme of Luigi's Mansion and the nostalgic longing of Totaka's Song.
This song changed a lot from v1. The first version sounded a little too slow, and Luigi's vocals sounded like him just groaning random noises, the Nova version sounded kind of similar in concept, but this new version by Red sounds awesome. The vocals, the melancholy vibe, almost everything about this song is amazing. Nice job!

From it’s V1, this is a massive glow up! you really captured the melancholic feel that V1 could have done better, and I’m a sucker for sad / calm songs. I love that it has so much more impactful melodies compared to before, especially at 3:21, mario’s lyrics + plus the melodies sounds amazing here. I also love the watery grave motifs here, which is cool since you worked on it too. this song is the best of the mod imo. well done!

This song went from beeing my less favourite track on v1 to one of my favourites in v2, could say its actually my top 1 like seriously you can actually tell how luigi feels in this song, pain, depressed, alone, confused, and every other feelings you can imagine.

This is such a contrast from most of the songs in the mod and I’m all for it. Both melancholic, peaceful, yet filled with an emotional sense of despair. It’s perfect.
Alone and Golden Land is easily the best improved songs. I loved the OG but this just blows it out of the water man! 3:15 - 3:39 was such an unexpected treat, you didn’t have to put in lyrics but by god did you do it.

Love this song to bits and pieces. Genuinely one of my favourites in the entire mod, which is surprising since most of the songs in the mod are upbeat and intense, as well as the fact that the previous version of this song was subpar.
people say this version sounds less somber because his notes aren't as "depressed" sounding, but i think this one feels MORE depressing then the original,
the old one sounds more like he's just...singing sad.
but this one is basically beta luigi letting out his emotions of greif, ironically to something he's terrified of. he's basically SO sad he's willing to confide to something he is scared of. this version is basically, rather then the song portraying the actual depression, like the original did, it portrays the inner emotions someone would have from such a scenario. where luigi is lamenting "why didn't i just push that much harder?"
and i find those emotions are what solidifies a "Sad" song, not just if something "sounds" sad.

V1 of this song was pretty meh, so the difference in quality between that in V2 is massive. I like that they sort of remade the song from the start instead of remixing the original, this one is the perfect mix of the funk while still sticking to the tone of the character. I love the little details throughout the song, the Luigi's mansion melody, the fact that you start this song at full health because Luigi himself has already given up, or the separate sprites for Luigi used at the beginning and end of the song. Easily the best part is 3:20, first time I heard it tbh I didn't even know there were lyrics

I liked the fact that if you listen closely there’s 2 Parts that while they happen to be references they are also foreshadowing the songs that come after this one, some of the song references watery grave (the L is real song from fnf: classified)which foreshadows thalassophobia which is the L is real song for FNF Mario’s Madness, while some of the part starting at 2:07 references I Hate You (IHY) which foreshadows IHY Luigi’s new song and IHY V2, also the entire song feels fitting and emotional for the bad ending of Luigi’s Mansion I also liked the additional detail with the humming

I think this song had one of the best improvements in the mod. What you did with the chromatics is super impressive, considering I've never seen a "humming" chromatic done right before, and that was shown so well around the beginning and end of the song. Mario's segment too, along with Luigi's sadness throughout the song is so emotionally powerful, and I don't care if its for an Fnf song.

I don't want to sound like a broken record by repeating what I said in the Watery Grave video, except WELL DONE on making this even better than the original and beyond and still capturing that "tragic" feeling without being overexcessive with the melodies or tone as most FNF songs in the past tended to do, even with "melancholic" songs.

While I won’t talk down on anyone who prefers the original version, we all have our own tastes, V2 just feels better overall, V1 to me just doesn’t have anything that makes it memorable aside from I guess the depressing tone, V2 is better to me due to it feeling like it’s not only trying and succeeding to convey Luigi’s sorrow, but it simultaneously feels like a celebration of Luigi’s Mansion, Bf and Gf being ghosts, the Luigi’s Mansion motif that is sang throughout the song, albeit in a more somber tone, the jingle from the game that plays when the mansion lights up in the background, the entire Mario segment! V1 felt like it hyper focused on the depressing elements, but V2, while toning down the depressing tone a bit, turned the song into a love letter to Luigi’s Mansion, and as someone who has played the original game and it’s 3DS remake countless times, I can comfortably say this one got the best glow up and it’s not even close.
Again, if you like V1 more, that’s completely fine, you have your reasons for liking it, but the same can be said for those who like V2 more. In the end, we all have different musical tastes and that’s fine.

In all seriousness this is probably my favorite song in MMv2. Its such a good concept, and you masterfully put it into a song that is both fun to play and amazing to listen to. Hearing the theme of luigis mansion through the song, as if luigi is trying to comfort himself because he was too scared to save his big brother, and now he forever sits outside the mansion, where he was too late.
Me encanta bastante esta nueva versión de Alone en cuanto a sentimientos que trata de dar la canción, la primera versión de Alone tenía ese tono depresivo que me llegué a esperar de la canción, pero sentía ese sentimiento bastante forzado a tal grado que me aburria la canción y no la pudiera disfrutar para nada. En cambió esta nueva versión, ademas de lo depre, me da esa sensación melancólica que busco en una canción relacionada con el Beta Luigi. Donde más se puede notar es en las vocales de Luigi, sobretodo cuando murmura (osea cuando canta el tema principal de Luigi's Mansion), ya que suenan que en verdad está arrepentido de no poder haber rescatado a su hermano. Es simplemente, hermosa esta nueva versión.

Not only can you hear Totaka's Song throughout the instrumental, they slipped in Winds of Fjords at 2:25 in the instrumental. I recognize that soundfont and progression anywhere.
That's the last thing I expected, yet it fits really well amid the melancholy theme of Luigi's Mansion and the nostalgic longing of Totaka's Song.
This song changed a lot from v1. The first version sounded a little too slow, and Luigi's vocals sounded like him just groaning random noises, the Nova version sounded kind of similar in concept, but this new version by Red sounds awesome. The vocals, the melancholy vibe, almost everything about this song is amazing. Nice job!
