I remember seeing a YT video of this place about eight years or so ago, it was dark and filmed on a mobile phone or something low definition. Back then I think it was about 4 horse power and much more primitive. Looks like they've seriously upped their game now and made it a lot more advanced. Nice job and thanks for the update.
Interesting place. First time i have ever seen roller guides used on a wide bandsaw. Ive always thought theres no real reason why not to do that. That log carriage is all home made, and working well. Ingenious people.
Hey Charles, thank you for the comment. I was there for about 45 minutes and they gave the horses about a 10 minute break. In the morning they have set of horses, and the afternoon, they have a new set of horses.
The Amish fascinate me so much. I respect their way of life and simplicity, but even they use resources and technology that they would preach against. Life seems to be a hypocrisy no matter your beliefs.
Thank you for the comment. Yes, I also notice the contradictions. Can’t use a car but they can use the drive shaft of a car. I have many more videos coming out about the Mennonite
@@HirsiTV In a lot of cases, using the drive shaft of a car, as you mentioned, is acceptable for WORK only, but would never be allowed for personal or recreational uses. Same with phones. SOME groups of Amish do allow phones for WORK usage, but the phone would not be allowed to be kept inside the home.

I didn’t know they advanced. They definitely found a way to persevere their culture and still make a living
@@HirsiTV I think the horses were the same number since re-watching the old video, but the other improvements they've made look legit.

Wow the most expensive eight horse drive system I have ever seen.
Haha. Yes. They also have the most expensive 12 bourse drive system. They use it for sawmill
How often are those horses given a break and water?

What is the log that they are sawing?
Hello Jack, i am sorry that I didn’t ask the name of the log. It looks very expensive.
Looks to be Red Cedar
@@ScottyHunter Yeah looks like a hardwood, with the care and precision they are attending to it. Can't make screw ups on that like with softwood.
