From Soviet Shadows to My Village 'Bomb Shelter' -
Join me on an exciting journey to my village where I've transformed an old house into a unique "bomb shelter." In case of unforeseen events in Kyiv, like power outages, water shortages, or heating problems due to Russian missiles, this shelter will be a vital refuge.
But that's not all! On our way to the village, I'll share an intriguing revelation about the brilliant aircraft designer Serhii Koroliov, a Ukrainian genius hidden by the Soviet government. His pioneering inventions, such as the first artificial Earth satellite, revolutionized our world and paved the way for technologies like GPS and weather forecasting. The Soviet leadership denied Koroliov the Nobel Prize, claiming that all Soviet citizens were responsible for technological advancements. Despite this, his legacy lives on, even in the esteem of someone like Elon Musk.
And for a touch of humor and nostalgia, I've brought my trusty cat, Fedya, with me. Will Fedya's mere presence be enough to deter the village mice, or will history repeat itself with a cat that's more scared of rodents than you'd expect? Join me on this adventure and let's find out together! Don't forget to like, subscribe, and share this unique journey with your friends.

Happy to see another of your videos. Musk is a Khuilo, plain and simple. I don't know why so many people buy his cool aid. That is a gorgeous cat. I am getting a new cat next week, a lady in the village does not want him because he's an outdoor cat and she lives on a main road. His name is Marshall, strange name for a cat but I have fields all around me so he'll be happy.

Finally, the legendary cat entered the field. I hope the mice will run away when they see this cat. Of course, you have to give this cat a few mice to eat first... When he finds out what mice taste like, then he will hunt all the mice... Don't feed the cat...let it hunt mice...
I hope you can spend this winter without special problems❤❤❤

Glad you brought the city cat, give him time ,like I said it's their insticet to hunt, a cat will sit for hours, waiting for its prey, also set your traps were the cat can't get caught in it.

Vita, I grew up during the Cold War. I remember the space race. My parents let me be late for school the day the first American manned space launch happened. When I got to school I found out the teacher had brought a TV so the students could watch. Growing up I followed the US space program closely. I've been to the NASA centers in Houston, Texas and Huntsville, Alabama and I got to watch the launch of Apollo 15 at Cape Canaveral in person.
Sometime in the last two years I learned that Koloriov was the brains behind the soviet space program. I heard more of his story similar to what you related. But I had not heard that he was denied the Nobel Prize. After doing a little more reading now I found that the house he was born in is in Zhytomyr and that in August 1970 a museum was founded in this house to commemorate him. And on the opposite side of the street the only Museum of Cosmonautics in Ukraine was founded in 1990. If I were your son I'd be begging you to take me there. Please Mom. PLEEEASE!
I know that when you go to your "bomb shelter" you go to get things done but if you get some time some day I'd love for you to take your Never Give Up community for a tour.
Thank you Vita for not only helping but also talking to that child. I cannot imagine the trauma of an entire nation, especially the children.
And may God keep YOU and your children safe. Амінь.🙏

Cat owner for many years. Cats have a natural instinct to chase after moving objects of many types. But to actually kill (and at least partially eat) mice, they do need to have been taught to do so by their mother cats. if Fedya did not get this training, it is all but hopeless to expect he will be a mouser as an adult. hes a fabulous fellow regardless, so cute.

    • @ThinkUkraine

    • @MrKaypet
      @MrKaypet 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Brigitte L Jones. That is not true. Fedya may not have been taught by his mother to be readily a good mouser or even bird hunter, but in time will be chasing such. The prey drive is strong in all cats and they will eventually work out how to get this creature that interest them EVENTUALLY. I can tell you this much from having had kittens from breeders or spent no time with mothers combined with never seeing any live prey having been brought up inside. If they get to go outside eventually they start as rather inept and before you know it they are serial killers. Even staying indoors they will figure out how to kill a mouse, or a budgie who got out of its cage, or a tiny skink that came in. What they often don't do or know how to is eat the critter properly they caught (unless starving). It's only rats that mothers must teach the kittens the precision timing in dealing the kill bite to be good ratters."Uneducated cats" who try taking on a rat get bitten by rats and don't try again. While Fedya would be interested in a mouse, he won't try to to get it in front of his mistress, until he knows how to do this effectively. Wether thats due to being unable to focus on mouse with her around, or not wanting to embarrass himself in front of her. He'd be plotting and practising this execution of mice when on his own.

Hi Vita. I do enjoy your video updates. Maybe Fedya is not so interested in hunting but perhaps he does not need to be and it may be possible that just his presence will be an effective deterrent to the mice. Always happy to see your videos and journey on the battle with mice. Very nice of Fedya to visit your village Villa with you. I guess the mouse needs to jump in his mouth. Maybe buy some small wire mesh and steel wool to fill in the cracks of the foundation that you mentioned before. Every path in to house plugged means one less way for mouse to become your enemy. Outside they are your friends.😊 lol
Stay safe and warm while winter approaches!

Brigitte L Jones. Well Fedya won't make a barn cat mouser, but he has a cat presence. His catty smells in a clean home without food in reach is a reasonable deterrent. He is a cat, has a prey drive while a beginner with mice. When his mistress is not immediately around to impede his focus, he will give a good chase( unless he's sleeping deeply or eating a treat) to any stray mouse who dared enter and will want to leave. Largely mission is getting accomplished with cat security agent. He will even eventually catch and kill some stupid errant mouse, though never eat it, and mistress will have to do a murder clean up of the corpse (pretending to be pleased as he did his duty). Ideally you want a cat who is a big detterant by his presence and some chasing out is a bonus.Since it's not a barn or dirty home the killer level isn't needed or desired. We hope no other cat needing a home turns up in Fedya's life time as at Fedya would at this age and stage would probably be very upset by this. Unless Fedya 'befriends' or is tolerant of cat that wandered by and Fedya lets it hang around.Cats who are territorial can make exceptions sometimes for some 'friendly' cats.

Incidentally, the first Soviet rocket, called R-1, was a complete copy of the German rocket "Aggregat A4". Better known as the V2. The German Aggregat A4 rocket was actually the first man-made object to cross the boundary into space (in June 1944). The first photo of the Earth taken from space was also taken from a copy of an Aggregat A4 rocket. The first living beings in space were launched into space by the Americans with an Aggregat A4 rocket. And after World War II, the Soviets deported many German rocket scientists to Moscow and forced them to work on the USSR's rocket program for them. The American and Soviet rocket programs were based on the German rocket program.

Your radishes were a much better batch than mine I did the first time by not thinning them out enough.Mine turned out like mini icicles and useless to eat. You had some good ones, and even your mutant ones were big enough to eat.I did not know the scientist was Ukrainian. While it was technically a Soviet era, they should have acknowledged his real ethnicity, especially as he thought of himself as of Ukrainian origins. It used to annoy me when even other English speaking countries did that to Latvians who had migrated overseas, calling them Russian in the Soviet era who had any fame. For that time it felt like internationally they erased my country. Not cool! I'm of Latvian descent born in Australia.

Some of them in exile, such as Stephen Timoshenko, who escaped to the US, His textbooks were foundational. Unfortunately, many even here in the US do not know he was Ukrainian. I like Elon Musk because he’s from South Africa where I attended University of Cape Town for a year. It’s a great country.

VITA you know that if it wasn't for Ukraine Russia wouldn't be there right now it's The Bravery of ukrainians that same Russia during the Great Patriotic War. And after most of the heroes of the Soviet Union are Ukrainian. But just like Soviet Union Russia lies his ass off about everything, you know exactly what I'm saying cuz you've been through all the crap that Russia can throw at you the bastards. Your garden looks very nice but like I said in my last commentary your vegetables are too close to each other. Let me tell you what I think you need to do pick them nice big area in your yard that you want to have vegetables I know you have the stuff next to your house but pick an area that gets full sun from sunrise to sunset and do this borrow somebody's gas powered tiller until the soil really good with the tiller a big area put 5 to 10 maybe 15 bags of manure on top of that tilled soil and then run the tiller again and mix all the manure into the soil and then get straw and put the straw over it about an inch and let that be until planting season next year you'll have really good soil ready to plant and if you plant at the right time by this time next year we'll have incredible vegetable garden VITA

I think he is a real ruzzian agent. Maybe they hired him before he became rich and now blackmail him or… or he’s just an idiot.
Max, I love when you are swearing 😁😁😁
