Microsoft has got the better power option, here. Not having a built-in battery that is glued or soldered in the controller is a durability advantage. Even more advantagious is that you can get rechargeable AA batteries or a battery pack. There's a reason PS3 controllers are disappearing from the surface of the earth while Xbox 360 controllers are still going strong.

They both look gorgeous! I like the white back on the Xbox controller which makes me lean a bit more toward Xbox

Honestly, if we're just talking about which one did a better looking purple, Sony wins. The galactic purple is a better shade in my eyes, and looks great with the black accent. However, Xbox is by far the better controller over PS, as its much more comfortable and have the thumbsticks placed correctly.
