21 wins, 33 yrs old and barely gets a mention compared to others. Great that he was sorted early this year, last time he was on a Fireblade he did well. Can't wait to be sat in a hedge watching
Because he's a dunlop and doesn't suffer fools and put up with bullshit just says it with his riding one of the best riders to watch on the edge and pinned every race long may he continue.
For this man to sit out two years and not have a big manufacturer behind him plus not riding in any other championships apart from road racing, it’s a testament to his raw talent that he’s even able to be up there with the top lot every year. Legend!
What I like about him, is that he is what he is. No BS, no sucking up to people. Just like his Dad and Uncle. World class rider that is sadly underrated by others.
"Protein shake to me is a pint of beer" What a legend! I love his old school racing spirit, I don't want to see Road Racing becoming another MotoGP with polished riders with no soul...
A Pro of any kind, in any sport, are absolute rare anomalies who walk among us in societies filled with mediocrity. The Soul is merely there to oversee the relentless perfection in polishing the God given talent they have.
I had the privilege and pleasure to meet Michael in person during his stay in South Africa for the SA classic TT races. He's a fantastic racer and a real gentleman and deserves a lot of respect.
You dont ride as much as the other riders and you can still rock up to the tt and win races that tells me your the man i wish you all the best for the tt look forward to seeing you up on the top step of the podium were you belong a true road racing gladiator all the best michael DUNLOP
MD…..the Road Racers , Road Racer…..old school, no bullshit, no fancy RVs , friends and mates as mechanics, , still wins Two races in 2022, and is the only rider all week, to break a lap record, , Let this fact settle in for a few minutes……at the age Michael is now, John McGuiness had won only 2 TT races, Michael is now on 21wins….says it all 👍🇮🇲❤️
The Dunlop genes are special, Michael's dad and uncle were of a class of rider not seen widely today. Michael carries the line with wit, grace and brutal self examination, it's a pleasure to see him again at speed, out front where he should be. Bless you, boy, thanks for the years and miles you've given us all
I’ve said this many times, as a fan of all the TT racer’s. I’ve met Michael several times and he has always had time for the fans. Makes an effort to chat wen he can. You can see his main priorities are Racing and trying to win! I really think he’s going to beat Joey’s record and that alone deserves respect!
Talent will out and Michael Dunlop has it by the bucket load. He does it his way and it shows that having loads of money behind you does not guarantee success at the TT, however determination, desire and bloody mindedness plus abundant talent and a good team can reap results. I really hope he can stand on the top step again this year. It's always good to see the underdog come out on top. 👍👍🙂🙂
So under rated. But my favorite . I’m a super sport enthusiast and I just love this dude . 😂❤❤❤ Best of luck this year in adding another to your growing TT resume
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Michael Dunlop you are an absolute LEGEND. Best of luck to you this year, you can do it mate, bring home those wins and trophies 🏁🏁🏁🥇
He`s a legend, the TT needs him and fair play to the Hickens they are there when he needs them. So he hasn`t pissed everybody off. Hope the Honda serves him well.
I was there to witness his greatness and for win 21. His passion is unrivalled. Hope he has a good tt this year and I will be there cheering him on . Go Michael Dunlop
I was there for the first one….sat and talked to him in one of our local pubs that night, he was still a very shy 19 yr old , and wasn’t up for partying with the team, who were across the room living it up, Michael was just wanting a quiet pint away from the limelight, we just happened to be there, I’ve seen every win since, and all things good…..he will be the greatest ever , maybe not this year, but in 24 or 25 he will take his uncles crown as king of the Roads 👍🇮🇲
listening to this pod and then reading all the comments...my respect for MD is slowly bubbling through... well done to all at TT. cheers from australia
As a child watching your Father and Uncle racing past our house on the Coleraine Road holding my ears because of the noise, I swore to myself I was going to get my bike license and be like your father 😅 well Because of him I ride today, but slower 😂 Michel you are a national treasure and we love you!!! Stay the way you are and keep up the protein checks!!! 😂😂😂😂 the more the merrier!!!
Michael listed those he thought that didn't like him but he didn't include his fans because he knows we love him. He's a Dunlop it says it all. Seen him mobbed in town and he never refuses a selfie or autograph even when he is heading for a pint. Great lad
He will break all the records, would have already if he wasnt that stubborn, but makes the wins just that more special knowing that he has to go the extra mile for each one.
Mr. Dunlop is my favorite! Please keep racing! For yourself for us for whatever. I’m rooting for you. Side note, I thought I read somewhere that he was going to ride a Ducati Pani V4 in the 2020 TT that never happened, is that true? I’d like to see him run that V4 on the TT
He was suppose to race on the Paul Bird Ducati but I believe(I think I read or watched somewhere) he wasn't confident with the set up/ it being an unknown bike at the TT so he switched back to the tried and true Hawk Racing GSXR which he had won on already. I think he did a similar thing with an R1 in 2014 or 15 switching back to his BMW.
Micheal the goat after all that trauma and loved ones lost and still wins tts lads this fella is someone you will never see again love you micheal absolutely brilliant🏆 🥇
Such a good solid man and a legend already. Never mind in the next decade or so. He will surpass his uncle before he retires. He does all of this without racing BSB or Moto as well. Mad respect for this man. 🙌🏾😊😉
Despite what he says - we didn’t find him socially awkward when meeting him at UGP about 10 years ago. Absolute gentleman. He’s just not one for media training bullshit.
He was on point with the 600 last year. It was amazing to watch, no TT for 2 years was torture. I can’t wait to see what Michael has in store for this year
Michael is a self confessed old fashioned pure 'road racer' he also admits being a difficult person to work with, bit like Joey, but Joey maintained his Honda contract and backing throughout, Michael is more like another TT genius Steve Hislop, who was difficult and cranky, didn't trust anyone to be his manager, frustrated teams and manufacturers, but just got on the bike and did his thing.
I am not a MD fan, but I have the upmost respect for the fella and he is nothng but honest. Talent and pedigree, balls and attitude are all there, like the man says he will not win any personality contests. MD doesn't have to change if he doesn't want to.
How can you not love Michael Dunlop???
- Brutally self aware and honest
- Doesn't play it up to the cameras
- Just gets it done
He's an Arrogant prick ! If you read his book, but he certainly has changed over the year's
He is about to break the history books and beat his uncle Joey's record..
Let's go Michael Dunlop ✊🏼
Thank goodness the TT has someone like you. Absolutely naturally brilliant with no bullshit. Great to watch.
🙌🏼
21 wins, 33 yrs old and barely gets a mention compared to others. Great that he was sorted early this year, last time he was on a Fireblade he did well. Can't wait to be sat in a hedge watching
100% .. He'll surpass McGuiness and Joey
@jaysmartin I hope he does, can't wait to see how he goes this year
Yes I have noticed this, why is he often not talked about when he is one of the greatest racers of all time???
@jimbo1485 Thats a very good question, I've asked myself that quite a lot
Because he's a dunlop and doesn't suffer fools and put up with bullshit just says it with his riding one of the best riders to watch on the edge and pinned every race long may he continue.
For this man to sit out two years and not have a big manufacturer behind him plus not riding in any other championships apart from road racing, it’s a testament to his raw talent that he’s even able to be up there with the top lot every year. Legend!
A man who embodies the concept of the original TT.
A real treat to see Michael and hear him tell it like it is. His dad and uncle would be proud.
"Ive got 3 laps before i can get on the beer". Legend.
God I love that! I'm the same way with my Sunday ride 😂.
"protein check is a pint of beer"🤣
What I like about him, is that he is what he is. No BS, no sucking up to people. Just like his Dad and Uncle. World class rider that is sadly underrated by others.
Les Autres sonts des Mechants Tocards !!!!!!!!!!!
Who underrates MD?
Total legend, the most genuine racer on the grid, 110% every lap every bike. I hope this blade is bulletproof because it getting its neck wrung💪👍

As Dom Herbertson calls the "Hair gel wankers" 😂
@@roadglide Agreed. Most below average failures in life can’t accept that they never had what it take to reach MOTO GP
@@roadglide Maybe soul wasn't the best word, should have called it lack of personality
He got the recipe from John McGuinness
I had the privilege and pleasure to meet Michael in person during his stay in South Africa for the SA classic TT races. He's a fantastic racer and a real gentleman and deserves a lot of respect.
Michael, please keep at it,pure talent, ride it like you stole it, Dunlops forever 😊
Absolutely the greatest rider of the TT, hope he will get the next great victory in 2023
Aged well
Keep pushing MD love it carrying on the family legacy God speed ride hard and safe

Micheal and his family are the very definition of road racers 💥
I like Michael.
I relate to his social awkwardness and I like his no bs approach to life & racing. Robert & Joey would be so proud of him.
Talent will out and Michael Dunlop has it by the bucket load. Greatest road racer since his uncle Joey.. Absolute legend
Michael Dunlap absolute ledgend...from a family of absolute ledgends...hats of to this man....
Brutal honesty from one of the greatest naturally talented racers. More of it is needed. Less of the Hollywood hero's 🏍🏍🏍
So under rated. But my favorite . I’m a super sport enthusiast and I just love this dude . 😂❤❤❤ Best of luck this year in adding another to your growing TT resume
You ain’t pissed off the 1000s of fans that ❤ MD well done mate keep doing what you do best winning TT RACES

It seems some people are STILL forgetting that you can never write off a Dunlop.
Nobody is writing him off..
There's just Hickman and Harrison at the moment so it's unlikely for Michael to win. Not impossible though
Was up at the graves of joey, robert a william last week, RIP legends

He is the most brutal rider on the TT Course he leaves nothing out there. Awesome 👏 to watch
This dude is legend!
I would like to have his eyes, he have reflections and a super performant sight. Genetically gifted champion.
My admiration for MD for doing it his way... Give him the bike and background crew and he will win. The 27th is coming...
The Dunlop dynasty....
Fecking fantastic 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

Love the sunglasses comment! 🤣Always think Michael looks like a bare knuckle fighter who turned up and decided to have a go racing a bike, legend!!! 😁
Many more TT wins to come from this lad
Great win and fantastic riders all of them past and present and a legendary name in the TT

Let's get this over with, to go on the piss 😂 you've got to love the man.
1 word………………….LEGEND
Proper road racer !
Legend one of the goats and all the goats are Dunlops if you know you know
He was born to race ,born to become a living legend
He was on point with the 600 last year. It was amazing to watch, no TT for 2 years was torture. I can’t wait to see what Michael has in store for this year

What an absolute legend, 3 laps and on the beer haha
I'm a fan he is forsure a heavy hitter in this game
The King
MD in a good mood. Nice!😀
Great to see a rare long-form interview with MD. The TT without a Dunlop would be like F1 without Ferrari. Best of luck to him and the team this year.
Imo he's the best rider to ever swing a leg over a bike on the island, legend a proper one :-).
Like the rest of the dunlops a fukin legend and long may it continue.
TT needs a Dunlop or it’s just not as exciting! It was watching this family that got my love for bikes and the road racing. 👍🏻
I am not a MD fan, but I have the upmost respect for the fella and he is nothng but honest. Talent and pedigree, balls and attitude are all there, like the man says he will not win any personality contests. MD doesn't have to change if he doesn't want to.
Amazing rider 👌👌👌
The Dunlops are a different species. Thank God for all the men with the stones to ride this circuit.
The Dunlop Dynasty being upheld by Michael, a great road racer who hasn't forgotten what racing is all about.
Fair play to him. Just an ordinary guy. Fucking legend more like.
Thé great driver of the world!!!👌🏁🏁🏁
Definitely under rated racer no room for mistakes
