      LOL, glad you like it. I just learned how to do video editing and captioning in ScreenFlow and may have gone little overboard.

    Can you please give us an updated studio tour Video, it's been (4) years since the last video tour. Curious to see the evolution of new tools you have incorporated into your mastering work Flow . ✌🏾

    You got a very nice room to be proud of man(lot of nice gears)!!!!!! So thanks for sharing!!! i also own some basic gik acoustic panels which didn't do the trick for me, so i am considering maybe buying more ... But in fact i was very intrigued with the alpha panels ,what could you tell about them man , do you really think they worth the shot or nah... Thanks in adance for your potential reply...

    This video is quite old now and a lot has changed and improved. I need to do a new one and hopefully that will happen sooner or later.

    Cool video. But I'm wondering: what are your thoughts on seamless toggling?

    • @mysteryroommastering-justi6737
      @mysteryroommastering-justi6737  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Michael. I find seamless toggling to be essential. On my monitor controller I can seamlessly toggle between the processed version (or my work in progress) and the totally unprocessed version (no plugins, no hardware) with the versions level-matched to make sure what I'm doing is actually making it better, not just louder.
      I can also seamlessly toggle which converter is feeding the analog gear, and which is capturing the gear because between my two converter options (Crane Song HEDD Quantum and Prism Lyra 2), sometimes I have a slight preference for one or the other for playback and/or capture depending on the material.
      When you can do such seamless toggling while the music is playing (without interruption), it's easier to notice the more subtle differences in sound.

    What does someone use for switching if they have more than 2 converters?

    Across the board you' ve really made all the right choices on equipment that is typically found in most upscale mastering facilities. I wish at your age I could have even known about the equipment in your studio. Not only that but you have a nice pair of monitoring loudspeakers in what looks to be a fairly well treated room. Bravo very good. Now with musical experience, you might really have something here. This must have cost a small fortune. This simply isn't minimalistic. Now go out and be the next Bob Katz, Bob Ludwig, Eric Broyhill, Mike Wells, Warren Sokol, or Joe Lambert to name a few. Well done and stay after it, your on the right track. Nothing low-budget here. Thanks!

    Mystery Room did an EP I produced for a friend's band a few years ago and did an excellent job. Definitely check them out when you're ready for a pro sounding master.

    Can the crane song connect directly to the computer or are you using an interface?

    • @mysteryroommastering-justi6737
      @mysteryroommastering-justi6737  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Crane Song Avocet is not an interface and doesn't connect directly to a computer. You need some kind of audio interface. It has analog and digital inputs. I preferred to use the AES inputs for the important things.

    For anybody watching this video now.
    A) It's very outdated and a lot has been improved.
    B) "Low Budget" is referring to the video production quality, not the studio itself.

    Where do you get the 1/2 rack spacers

    • @mysteryroommastering-justi6737
      @mysteryroommastering-justi6737  ปีที่แล้ว

      I got them from Sterling Modular who make the studio desk I use. It's important that the rack rails are capable of doing 1/2 rack spaces too. Not all rack rails can do it.

    You clearly were calling the video quality “low budget” and obviously not the value of the equipment 🤔

  • @audiokemestry
    @audiokemestry ปีที่แล้ว

    I had to chuckle while I was watching this because I'm pretty sure that by using the words 'low budget' in the title you were ONLY referring to the quality of your 'video' (and not the studio itself)...because those are all very high quality units. Nothing low budget at all about the gear at all. Lol.

    • @mysteryroommastering-justi6737
      @mysteryroommastering-justi6737  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, when I created the video I just meant that the video production was low budget, not the studio. Anyway, the video is pretty old now and A LOT has changed so I'll try to do a new one soon.

    removing the constant explanations typed on the screen would be great. theres really no need to know what your mindset was for each editing desicion.
