Subbed and patiently waiting for the Final Cut, my grandfather loves old westerns and I think he’d love rdr2’s story but I don’t think he’d sit down and watch me play through it all
@@ckypunx1998 That final cut is coming! Finishing Guarma now and then it’s ready to go. If you have any favorite horse ride convos or anything that I might pass on be sure to let me know!
I’m making one last long version conbining it with my epilogue and rdr1 edit, the full Guarma chapter, and then a bunch of scenes that have been requested. If you have a scene, horse ride convo, or plot line you want included in the longer, final version, please let me know soon!
For rdr2 epilogue you really need to do the the John Marston restoration mod, doesn’t fit with Arthur Marston going to the real John Marston in the movie. And make Arthur and John Dress how they’re supposed to dress in canon. With Arthur in his gunslinger outfit and John in his outfits but when it’s his ranch outfit in rdr2 have the mod where it’s the rdr1 rancher outfit
I would recommend moving the mission in which Dutch kills Cornwall toward the end. Watching chapter 4 stuff only for that to be thrown in was really jarring and out of place
Everything with the indians. Including My Last Boy and Dutch's cliffside speech. scrubbing thru the timeline I see none of it. Also Captain Monroe's story and his dialogue about Favours descent. The indians are a big part of Dutch's character in both games.
yes i found ur videos last week but didnt watch cuz i saw in the comments u didn’t include certain important moments- with this length… its prolly gonna have it all. been looking for something comprehensive so my mom can watch it! thank u!
I hope your Mom can sit through 5 hours! My mom was able to make it through in a few different seatings with me. If she made it through Alan Wake 2 and GTAV, I figured she'd make it through and she did! This version gives more time for the living; Arthur and Mary, John and Abigail, Arthur's repentance or trying at least with the nun, witnessing his paste failures and other big ups and Downes in his life. Downes pun intended lol
I've often thought about doing something like this for GTA V or RDR 2 in 8K (when I get my RTX 5090 in my next computer), but given how high a bar you set in terms of quality - don't know if I can even come close. You've gained a like - and a subscriber.
Wow, that is seriously so kind. That 'high bar' you were playing at really made my afternoon hearing you thought that. Boy do I wish this was a higher rez for my family's nicer TV that can capitalize on how crisp revolutions have got. 4k would be amazing to keep consistent (also more space for digital zooms or cutting into the same shot at different scaling to cut out dialogue and not have an audience notice it was the same shot they saw thrice with a middle zoomed in cut lol). 8k could be... yeah that would be *it*
@@gino8381 I’m finishing up Guarma and am still on the fence about Rain Fall. I think I’ll add it, I just wonder if it’s only adding to Dutch taking advantage of his own American ideals for his own betterment which we see time and time again already. Rain Falls is so powerful though, especially for connecting the final shot of him watching the Eagle soar
@@BrittonFilmmaker well it also plays into the theme of the old west ending, like both the gang and the natives are relics of a bygone era fighting against the advent of "civilization" which ultimately turns out to be a futile struggle and them leaving in the end is such a great way to show that the old west is truly dead. Also without it you’d be missing Dutch leaving Arthur to die when they fight at that oil refinery.
I just watched Dead Man, great movie which has an incredibly soundtrack by Neil Young and it made me think about how integral all the songs like unshaken, that’s the way it is, far away, deadman’s gun etc. are, so I hope they are gonna be included in the final cut!
oh sure, Molly dies, then smash cut to them being on the island surrounded by dead cops to get John. What the heck???? you need to show the cutscene of the misson at least to explain how they got there, AND THE WHOLE WALKING THROUGB THE STREETS AFTER THE DIAGNOSIS MOMENT.
I agree with a lot of this! The jump cut to the john breakout is way abrupt, not sure why it ended up that way. I remember it being very action packed, and it being a long horse-ride straight into stealth killing and then this was the first cutscene. Some cinematic mode about their convo about Dutch abandoning John would help smooth that gap. This idea was Dutch isn’t helping anyone, so Sadie and Arthur who just spent their entire time trying to convince Dutch go and spring it alone. And if there is a straight up cutscene of them planning this off horse, then I completely missed it. I’m making one final longer version with everyone’s criticisms that includes the epilogue, guarma, and rdr1 edit of mine. And I’ll fix this whole janky transition. I’ll also extend arthur’s street catharsis post horse fall on the way to the doctor, the reason it was cut down in this is because it was a *really* long shot of nothing happening with a murky filter with good lines of dialogue spread too far apart. They say the audience can deal with a shot for about 90 seconds (the clock continues when you cut back to it), and that was like 2 and a half minutes of Arthur slow walking on the same sidewalk. So that was the reason. I might cut it to where I move up all his hallucination voices to shorten the long wait for the audience but still deliver all the voice over. And who am I kidding, the longer version is just for the fans so why should I worry if a scene is long. The version for my friends and family was the 4 hour one. Anything longer is for someone who loves RDR like us. Thanks for watching some, and thank you for the excellent criticism that I can put into the next edit.
yo want to watch this with wifey - we love watching these type game movies, but when is the Final Cut coming out? Contemplating waiting on that one. Thx.
havent watched it yet, hope it contains some gameplay for context for ex, the braithwaite manor mission should contain the fight to take the mansion and the fight from the balcony
Thanks for the comment! I have one last version of these to do where I cram this giant one with the RDR1/RDR2 epilogue plus Guarma/Chapter 5. Alogn with that there’s one more Keiran scene and then the Braithwaight manor I wanted to redo so Arthur would shoot the sons at the end in the knees instead of head so Dutch has more imapct killing them. Then show the full fire scene walking down the stairs. However! Thanks to your comment I will extend that combat and truly make that the climactic spectacle of the film. All guns blazing with the incredible music through the beautiful fire
Since the True Love story adds a significant amount of honor to Arthur’s journey and further showing him trying to better himself, maybe that should be included too?
@@skywalkerorder2839Great idea, if it weren’t for you I would have missed including that. It would be a nice break from the camp doings and law breaking. It will help the gap between Dutch conning the sheriffs on top and Arthur learning about the people below. It’s a good idea
Love this game so much I’d probably watch every version of the movie edits and never once be disappointed. Although I’m Still confused why the 3 hour had moments during chapter two quickly cutting to chapter 3 to watch Dutch and Molly scream, and then back to Chapter 2?)
So the craziness with intercutting chapters was two fold. I wanted to accomplish Guarma's message without it (time wise reasoning only, it's very different than every other sequence but I like it for that) and wanted to have Molly's sudden Chapter 6 betrayal to have felt earned. Molly's fallout with Dutch is almost all in chapter 3. But since I want to show every teeny bit of Molly and Dutch building up to this crazy climactic camp killing that could potentially seem out of nowhere. So my thought was, if Molly is only mad right before she turns, she seems a bit less unstable. By extending her arguments to be throughout the film, hopefully the audience notices or predicts that Dutch ignoring and treating Molly poorly is both a short term recipe for disaster, and a long term bad sign about Dutch's character when with those who have already taken his snake oil pitch. Molly is so out of place in the story that using her camp scenes as transitions into darker moments from lighter ones worked to bridge a big cutscene and logic gap and have it make more sense. For guarma, we couldn't get Arthur reacting to innocent woman murder by Dutch, but we do get back to back unarmed enemy no-mercy killings by Dutch back to back with Cornwall (moved up) and Angelo Bronte. Not at all innocents but at his mercy every time. Gives the same bad look that Arthur is taken aback by, and takes a bit slower than "And... Dutch is off the deepend now" like in Guarma lol. Because when you know Dutch and Arthur have no hope of compromise, the whole story starts wrapping up if not for the Arthur/John final plot sequence. This helped extend the tension. One of Dutch's first lines: You and Hosea can sit in the back together. I know how you two like to talk of the good ole days and what's gone wrong with old Dutch We knew where it was going, but extending the hope is extending the tension. Extending is arguments contrasting his proclaimed morals with Molly as well.
