The second home you showed is a laned home - these homes normally have a garage area at the back. The builders charge extra to built the garage, so the buyers generally get them built later by a private contractor. A lot of people buy sheds and place them at the back of the house to create a covered parking pad. it saves the cars from the snow.
People who do have garages, I have noted that they usually park on the driveway. This is because cleaning snow from car is easier than scrapping snow off the driveway, so people usually leave their cars outside.
Seton is quite new area but very far however the only places you can find houses under 2500 would probably be seton, cronerstone, nolanhill etc. Also keep in mind that with houses you have to pay electric + water + recycling + garbage fees which can be additional 500-750$ for a house easily. House utility bills are much higher than apartments. Keep this in mind so that you don't go over budget!
Tip for calgary rental market: It's first come, first get. The first person to show up for a viewing usually takes the apartment/house/basement. So don't delay if you find something good and in budget. Per apartment, there are 80-100 applications easily.
People prefer living closer to downtown, like within 10 - 15 minutes drive max. Seton, cornerstone, etc. are considered quite far off for most people's liking and work needs.
However these areas are new and good to live in if:
You work from home
Your work is near your home
You'd never need to take a train
You have a reliable car with good winter tyres + emergency supplies in the car in case you get stuck in snow somewhere.
That is true when you have a front garage home, but in a laned home, you get a garage but there isn't a drive way ( as the garage opens to the back street ), hence no scraping.

Why you guys are wondering house in this expensive area of calgary in North west.Why not looking house in North east area. That is a bit cheap.NW is so expensive.And very new area.I am in Calgary from the last 17 years.I am from Pakistan.I moved from Toronto too.Calgary is the best. If you need any help.

No one will give you snow cleaning independent how, you can hire someone to clean the snow or try yourself it’s not difficult after few times
Condo management, where landlord pays for the snow cleaning fee..
Ap GTA mein west side pe they, east side is much better nevertheless we have huge community here too but scams , crime etc is very less here and people are very nice

Sana if you have become hijabi, then your hands too have to be covered, long sleeve shirts only. Further, having a car garage is a must considering snowfall if within your budget. The Vlog is better short and sweet.

Yes, I'm talking about Halifax in Nova Scotia. Please think of this. One way flight from Halifax to Toronto is 150$ and is nearby as per land distance.

If you prefer to live in Desi Community then move NE side lots of Pakistani & Indian Desi people surround you but if you need privacy then keep your self SE Seton area or NW and SW side. Hope you understand what i said in lipping words

True, apartments are usually very small and we’re looking into upgrading the size of house, also privacy
Salam Ashar & Sana we moved from Winnipeg to Calgary last year and we bought new home in Seton its a nice neighborhood with all amenities just missing school which will construct soon but most people here sent there kids to mahogany and Creston or auburn society which is hardly 10 minutes drive from Seton. If you rent or bought house in Seton we will be your neighbors.
