Maybe it's one of those beta things they forgot to fix. Maybe in earlier versions you could reach Kung Lao as adult Shujinko (hence why he sounds younger) but then the idea was scrapped and they forgot to redub those lines with old Shujinko.
I’d like to imagine the baker right now is still standing in his home, has a long white beard, cobwebs all over him, covered in dust, thinking “oh, I’m sure that boy Shujinko will come in any second now with that bag of flour...any second now...”
An outstanding walkthrough but you did say you wanted to complete it 100% and i feel it's only 99% until you have completed the Shang Tsung challenge. I think we'd all enjoy that...

I watched all of your walkthrough without having to skip up any point of all 13 videos. To me is more like a therapy and relaxing time with a game that I played hundreds of hours in 2004. I completed all objectives and finished Arcade mode on max difficulty without dying. So, is a pleasure watch your MK Deception videos after 15 years of my first gameplay experience because this game is one of the best on it's generation and we know the arguments to confirm it. Back to your videos, I must say: it is a masterpiece, cause you got every detail, observation, commentary with stylish and autheticity. I agree with your opinions and tastes, something like 95% of your commentaries, at least. Feeling all that kind of memoirs and that atmosphere again with your shares, is priceless. 13:56 I literally just completed these fight challenges with no stress at all. Kobra was the easiest out of them because I used Kobra and all I did was spam Kobra's square, square, x, x combo and I beat him. For Kabal I used Mileena and pretty much just spammed Teleport Kick and her square, square, x combo. And to defeat Kira I used Ashrah and I used her ten hit combo that you showed us at the beginning of the video and Kira went down and I went through the portal and got my koins. So that's basically all you need to do and you'll be golden. Hope this helps.

I freaking HATED doing Kyra's training...I dunno how it is for PS but on Xbox it's awful...out of all the difficult tasks in this game, it was the only thing I was never able to eventually do. I think it was because of the fact that the xbox controller just didn't respond quick enough to do her more complicated combos. I tried 2 different controllers, and about 100 attempts and I never could manage to do it
it pisses me off how they show kung lao's default costume then proceeds to use his alternate just like shang tsung. they were fucking lazy with this also didn't notice the nice detail with ghost liu kang at 9:24! i love that you did the mokap punch xD

It would've been nice to see some of the newer training sessions as well as you playing as Shujinko in arcade mode with all his fighting styles unlocked. This however is still spectacular.

Man the Deception Konquest mode was amazing. If they just improved on what they already had going on here instead of making that boring button smashing that was Armageddon's konquest it would have been just outstanding. I prefer way more this kind of approach for a story mode than the chapter based that they went since MKvDC, so many secrets, weird and special appearances from characters, side quest and a neat open map to explore
Konquest was so much more atmospheric than the current Nrs era shit, I mean look at outworlds ambience and creepy, purple vibe meanwhile in mkx and mk11 outworld is just a generic desert .... absolutely unacceptable

Yeah bro there was alot of cut content for this game unfortunately, kochal was supposed to be something else and with the raiden staff quest was also supposed to be more and there was also a treasure hunt that was supposed to happen in chaos realm, thanks to time constraints this konquest mode feels about 70% done to me but hey im still grateful for it this game is one of my most personal favorites i would spend hours tying to find hidden secret things, it was a nightmare trying to locate liu kangs chest i swear that was my bane in this game i wanted to unlock liu kang so bad i was so excited when i finally did.
also the hidden chest is 300 onyx koins for my iI think its random and its in the village by Sindel and the indigo portal and look towards the fence its that chest

If memory serves right, most of the Chests can be skipped if you have the Koins to purchase the right Tombstones within the Krypt. The Chests just cover the fee. They're not really "keys" as much as they are "coupons".
One of the ending in Mortal Kombat X says that someone is going around taking souls then someone is stealing souls and someone suspects that it's a resurrected Shang Tsung then a special forces agent fights him wins and while he is laying there dying she ask him his name and he says Shujinko

Xbox received a port version of the game that basically left them with the short end on the stick. Xbox wasn't ever intended to receive mk deception

Yeah bro there was alot of cut content for this game unfortunately, kochal was supposed to be something else and with the raiden staff quest was also supposed to be more and there was also a treasure hunt that was supposed to happen in chaos realm, thanks to time constraints this konquest mode feels about 70% done to me but hey im still grateful for it this game is one of my most personal favorites i would spend hours tying to find hidden secret things, it was a nightmare trying to locate liu kangs chest i swear that was my bane in this game i wanted to unlock liu kang so bad i was so excited when i finally did.

also the hidden chest is 300 onyx koins for my iI think its random and its in the village by Sindel and the indigo portal and look towards the fence its that chest

Great end to a great walktrough! I'm inspired to play the game myself. I want to ask - can I buy with koins some of the characters and costumes or I have to find all of these hard chests? Can't I buy them only with koins?
If memory serves right, most of the Chests can be skipped if you have the Koins to purchase the right Tombstones within the Krypt. The Chests just cover the fee. They're not really "keys" as much as they are "coupons".
