I bought the Elite lower group and had trouble with it. My Aero Precision upper would not fit without great exertion. Once together the rifle functioned fine. BUT, the factory cross threaded the grip screw. BUT, Ruger customer service is in the process of exchanging the upper for a new one. Ruger was very responsive to my email.
Thanks for the video. I plan to purchase an MPR in a couple weeks and it will be my first AR. Besides hearing in a few vids about 1. BcG not locking open on empty mag 2. Questionable staking on the BcG gas tube bolts and 3. Occasionally not chambering new round, i still really want this rifle. Sounds bad now that i listed all these things out. It looks wicked and im not planning on entering any competitions so as long as i can put 250 to 300 rounds through it punching paper, just messing around, i will be happy.

Mine came in a few days ago (American Flag version). Very tight! Today I got to work on the BCG. The Bolt Cam Pin would not come out (it was blocked by the Gas Key). Luckily the Gas Key was lightly staked so I could easily remove it. Some day, I will have to grind some material off the Gas Key to make room for the Cam Pin so it can slip out. Once all apart and after a good cleaning, the action of the rifle is now smooth. It was so tight with an over supply of old sticky oil, that I don't think it would have cycled after the 1st shot. Is that a 16 inch barrel
No the MPR is a 18 in barrel
I got one of these a few weeks ago. Have you shot any steal ammo out if it yet? Ive had issues with steel, none with brass. Ive only got about 150+ rnds through it.
Yeah mine wont shoot steal either. It wont extract the case.
@@hahn-arms8006 yah i was hoping it would break in, but if you've had 20,000+ rnds through probly not. Txs for getting back to me.
Trevor the mpr is built pretty tight they will loosen alittle but not much. I also have a AR556 that loves steal ammo. I will be doing a video on it here in a week or so. If that would be something your interested in .
@@hahn-arms8006 the problem is the BCG. Got a cryptic full auto BCG and it runs steel fine.
@@jesmellarin i believe you may be right. I have a few ARs and dont run steel often anyway. My PSA pistol loves steal ammo so if i have any i just run it in that.
Thanks for the review. How did you resolve the bolt catching issue? I'm considering one of these and may need to know. Thanks in advance.
I did post a video on it. But what happened to mine was dryed oil inside the bolt carrier. I took it completely apart and soaked it. After that it ran like a dream. The newer MPRs have different BCG from what i understand. Have a great day
Does it have a plastic delta ring?
The MPR does not. It's a free floated barrel. Hope that helps.
I'm looking to buy this AR15. How did you fix the bolt problem? I hear a lot about this problem with reviews & people sent there guns back to Ruger & had same problem
Ok so how i fixed the BCG problem was by taking the bolt completely apart and completely clean it allllllll out. Mine happend to have dryed oil on the firing pin and inside the bolt carrier. I use PB Blaster and wd40 to do the deep cleaning part.
@@hahn-arms8006 Thank you for the information. You should make a video on how to clean it. I'm a new gun owner. This is all new to me. 👍🏻
If youd like im getting off work now so i will make you a video as sopn as i get home
@@hahn-arms8006 Thank you I appreciate that. Whenever you have time to make one.
I just got home setting everything up now. Will have it posted for you in a few hours.
What are the multi purposes?
Ruger labels it as a multi purpose rifle do to the way its set up. It can be a hunting/ plinking rifle aswell as some.of the upgrade it has over the standard AR556. It can be used and is suitable for 3gun or match shooting. Great question man. Thanks. Have a great day and merry christmas.
