theres never been a harder mic drop in the last 30 years. Dave doesnt deserve it, he literally earned it, through 3 generations of comedy and 5 generations of heroes.
agree to disagree, but I see it as a man who didnt value his worth that high initially, he wasnt an up and comer, he was 27 and had multiple sellout specials and some movies under his belt. He has went on to amass over 50mil in worth AFTER walking away from the 50mil that he was offered 15 years ago. No one knew what the world would be like in 2020 as far as access to entertainment. Dave wasnt saying shit when all those sets of his show were being sold. Fuck Dave, dave wants people to stop watching a show that wasnt ONLY his, just so he can get another 50mil. No, the rest of the cast and crew on that show worked just as hard as he did.
I don't think anyone understands that he left Chappelle show without getting paid! You know how much guts it takes to say no money can control me! I'm out!
It was never about control. It’s clear Comedy Central let him do whatever he wanted from the very beginning. He was under too much pressure to produce content at the level the network and, really, the world had come to expect. He was being called the funniest man ever and stuff like that, and CC wanted 12 episodes a year. If you go back to season 1, it’s legendary. But by season 2 they were having a hard time coming up with written content and it shows. The pressure to meet the high standard was too great and Dave split to Africa.
@@TheSingularitarian Definitely not lol. After time, they wanted more and more control, and the type of influence the network wanted increased as the popularity of the show did. He wasn't comfortable with the energy they were bringing and left, despite the $50m contract offer.

As if Netflix did that out of the kindness of their hearts. They know there's money to be made w Chapelle. They gave him the platform to call out Viacom & HBO, gave him a good feeling and signed him. Now he's with the nicer master. A master nonetheless. As an entertainer, especially a high profile one, you're more of a high paid circus animal since so many people depend on you making money for them. Just look at Britney Spears.
He's the greatest to ever do it. Period.

This man has been through it and is finally being able to tell his truth!!! Speak on it LEGEND!!!🗣🗣🗣 I wont watch it.✊🏽
The audience. They can hear what he's saying but they're not listening ! They clap when he's pouring his heart out like he's telling a joke.
This comment is a new born baby, i would divide the audience in 3 groups, the listener mfs(they remain quiet because they know its not the time to clap or cheer but don't understand the deep meaning behind the sentences), the superficial mfs (the ones that cheer and clap at the wrong time because they think that just because the ppv said stand up comedy they are walking right into jokes, and are the same ones that just go to tell people they've been to a famous's show and post it every where), and then theres the understanding mfs (the ones that fall into that deep dark movie irl and can see and relate to Dave's experiences even if it is not on the same physical scenario) the superficial people is actively and unknowingly working with the same mfs that are stealing people's payments even if we talk about regular people with regular jobs, because they follow trends and care only in what directly benefits them materially.
Dave has a power that not many celebrities have. When he says jump, we ask how high. Standing with you dave. BOYCOT CHAPPELLE SHOW UNTIL THEY PAY HIM!

I hear you bro, Dave really get across that ride or die mentality
Dave has never been afraid to say or tell it as it is. Respect this man greatly for his unique skills.
I got to the end and thought "no WAY was that 18 minutes long." Felt like 5 or less, I was completely captivated what an incredible speaker
Protect our brother...the audience laughs when he’s not actually trying to be funny. He’s letting out some real pain. There are moments where he’s being funny but he’s really talking his shit.
On the chief
You can hear the pain and anger in his voice and he 100% means it... which is were I get confused because when comedians get in trouble for saying something on stage... I think it should be interpreted within the context of comedy. I tend to side with the comedians justifying what they say because they are making jokes. This wasn't that... He's not trying to be funny. He wants me to take his requests literally and act. I hope he gets paid but I also hope this doesn't backfire and cause a precedent for what comedians can say in the future because this certainly isn't a joke.
@@rhythmlessly not a joke at all
For real tho. Hope the brotha comes to New Zealand once this Covid ordeal takes a hike. The man be speaking dark facts underneath all those jokes. Like my old man did. Miss my pops. Dave Chappelle is truly a master of his trade.

I feel like this crowd was so lost. Applauding at moments of seriousness and praising at wrong moments.

Anybody peep that iceberg slim reference? It’s from one of his other stand ups.
The one where Iceberg Slim hooked his bitch up with some more mileage in a sneaky ass way right? I noticed that one too

It really hurts to see him genuinely angry. Won't even come close to a Comedy Central video again!

He's more than earned that right to be paid for his work. Being a good comedian is his job and he should be paid for it like anyone else who does a job n gets paid for it.

I know I won't watch it, until, he gets paid.

Im amazed that Netflix took his side. Well done for them, respect

I really hope so
I think they gonna give the name back to him. Dave too powerful now. He can shut down the whole comedy industry single handed
@@RapperHolik They dont give things back, they would rather kill you than pay you.
RapperHolik i don't really think they care about dave, they care about their shareholders. How does Comedy Central owe Dave anything when he signed the rights to his show to them?
I’ve always been a fan of his and I’ve always thought he was a bad-ass, this just proves that he is ❤️.
"Or I can just take it" ...like that bully comedian said to him about his joke! Wowwwww. This. Man. Dave. Chappelle. The. Legend.
Lol if Dave had to name that washed up old comedian now, i bet he would randomly get the sh!t kicked out of him xD
theres never been a harder mic drop in the last 30 years.
I was in tears by the time it ended... can literally hold his pain.
I don't think anyone understands that he left Chappelle show without getting paid! You know how much guts it takes to say no money can control me! I'm out!
They tried to ruin him after that!
Who cares, entertain my ass.
@@TheSingularitarian Definitely not lol. After time, they wanted more and more control, and the type of influence the network wanted increased as the popularity of the show did. He wasn't comfortable with the energy they were bringing and left, despite the $50m contract offer.
There’s a balance in our world between positive and negative that is inescapable. The key to mastering this balance is through our emotions. Beyond everything right or wrong, without control over our emotions will always lead to an incredible injustice unknowingly perpetrated by ourselves.
Although your anger and frustration is understandable, your self control and reflection over the years allowing your mistakes to be a lesson must be commended. You are truly One of the most intellectually honest people I know in Hollywood...still alive.
That feel when you've seen the entirety of chapelle show multiple times and you're satisfied with your memories. Good luck Dave 🤞🍀👍
