I watched a training film from back in the day and it is plausible to survive a nuke without dying straight away. IF you can shelter from the blast and IF it is an airburst the only thing you have to really worry about is the radioactive dust that gets thrown up into the air. If the wind takes the majority away you're ok, you just need to brush it off you after walking through it. But then again they didn't really know what they had back in the day either really

1. Even if it wasn't used now, could be used in the future (Mesoamerican desert), Zack Snyder is planning an entire universe on this.
2. It's July 2-3 in the Mohave. Rain would have been the most unbelievable thing in the entire movie.

@@anurag809088 the hummer was fine, and the soldiers would have been alot safer in a armored vehicle then put in the open, it doesnt matter if it had to be reversed (wich it didn't) they would have been safe inside while doing so.

Bruh this movie was really good but also had me yelling at my phone because of all the dumb decisions they made like the rescue mission the daughter went on by herself with a nuke dropping in an hour with no escape plan or anything.

I'm gonna guess Vander is actually immune in later sequel, the fatigue is just to throw you off thinking he will change and cause another zombie outbreak. But in the sequel the army hunts him and does test on him to find out why is he immune and can survive turning for that long. Extracting his blood and injecting it into other people to test. That causes another outbreak.

that is an interesting thought, i found it strange that the radiation from the blast didn't cook him up or kill him quickly. perhaps his infection altered and may be a stronger strain

Maria’s necklaces on both the skeleton and the current Maria are different. Skeleton Maria’s necklace only has 3 holes while current Maria’s has 4. Kind of like a nod to Dieter saying he shot a zombie 3 times and Vanderohe correcting Dieter that he actually shot it 4 times.

@@alex.berkowitz There are a lot of fours hidden in this movie if you pay attention. So yeah I too think it's their fourth attempt. The scene where they explain the plan in a montage is the one time everbody came out alive with money imo. Also Vanderohe knows too much about a lot of stuff too making me question him.

Erik, Vanderhoe's "tattoo" is actually appears to be a brand... usually noting a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. However, after being corrected, he is actually a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. who traditionally don't get branded. Sorry for the confusion... thank you for the correction!

Zombies and Aliens existing in the same world is actually pretty damn fitting. I can’t wait to dive back into this world again with the prequels. Hopefully a sequel is on the way! I loved it.

I found Vanderhoe's inevitable end as a zombie as a callback to Ben of Night of the Living Dead - someone who survived til the end but still became a zombie.
Ben didn't become a zombie the white trigger happy posse shot and killed him.

@@LonnieLBrown It happened when fought Zeus outside the vault. Vanderohe threw a punch. Zeus caught it and broke his wrist or crushed his hand, one of those, but I remember Vanderohe's hand being incapacitated.
I didn't even notice half the stuff you mentioned in this video lol. Snyder's attention to detail in certain areas makes the big plot holes seem like lazy writing.

I think Vander is the only one who remembers each loop and he always turns/gets bitten at the end and maybe the military catch him and do tests and he’s actually the alpha, which is then how he loop starts again, so that’s why he went hand to hand with the alpha zombie Zeus as it’s actually him fighting the zombie version of himself omg please let me be right!
I think you may have read into that scene a bit much. I think it was Snyder having fun and winking at the audience, making light of Chris Nolan type movies. It's a plot point that is so massive it would have taken over the movie from that point if it was meant to be taken seriously. I'm thinking of how in the beginning the main characters were all at their own photoshoots which makes no sense plotwise but its just poking fun at the "title card" trope
Omari Hardwick (the actor who plays Vanderhoe) has recently said that he and Snyder are in talks for a sequel.
So my guess is that he'll spread the virus but he himself might be inmune to it (maybe because of the radiation from the nuke?).

@@Chris-rg6nm I think it could be the radiation slowing it down, and the infection that stopped him from getting sick from the radiation. It's kind of the first hint something is off about him because he walks through the nuclear fallout without any problem

this bugged me a lot. actually there are a lot of plot holes scattered here and there, which i hope will be dug up in the prequels / sequels they’re expecting to make. still, i found this a one-time watch popcorn flick which can be enjoyed after a hectic day’s work.
Cuz the plan was to get the queens head... so he wanted to stall them prob.. as they only was told to retrieve the money. For their sake of gettin paid. And martin was quiet bout retrieving the head. Yeah writing is sloppy from them goin back to the startin perimeter. To back to the hotel and lockin them in. Ect doesnt make sense but aye zombie movies like this are always on a spin.
I'm assuming it was a way to stall them while Martin went to get the queen's head.

Because he doesn't really care about the money. The real mission was the head. Giving them the code wouldn't buy enough time to kill the queen!

I just finished the movie and i was thinking this same thing about half way through!
Because the real reason for the mission, was to capture a alpha zombie (in this case, was the Queen's head) without them knowing. The money was only the decoy to have them go. Basically, was to make the mission more "credible". Something like that, i supose...
And the safe has some kind mechanism called Randomiser password kind of shit, which is probably why Tanaka need them to bring a Safecracker

The flaming bus mentioned at 5:07 is not a bus, it is the character Scott Ward's food truck that you can see in various other shots of the beginning montage - the vehicle they tooled around in to rescue people. This has many callbacks later in the film when he references using the money from the heist to get another food truck.
Nobody notices this but at the end you see him getting out of the vault. Why would they be sent out there to get the money when the vault doesnt get destroyed by the nuke?
Tanaka didn't care about the vault. It was a ploy to put together an expendable team to escort Martin in & out to get the queen's head, while keeping it secret.

The reason the infection might have taken longer in Vanderhoe is because he was still alive. The people that get infected die then turn in every instance of the movie

3:05 Yea it was the first thing i noticed in the film, i got a flashback to watching American werewolf in London in August last year.
I was not a fan of the ending of this movie
No one is.. they killed the team easily.
The very end felt like a huge nod to dawn of the dead. But i agree, not a fan of the whole team dying. Especially since all the pilot had to do was fly the helo the way they are meant to fly and zeus wouldn’t have been able to get on. This is why im not a huge snyder fan. You can always tell when he either wrote something in mid shoot or just suddenly decided he wanted something cool.
I loved this movie. It's a lot of fun and has a really interesting back story.

It was a low yield bomb. I don't know a lot about nuclear bombs, but it's possible that there wasn't a lot of radiation or his bite made him immune or smth

From the start of the film, the only thing I had racing through my mind was "How are 9 people and 200 million in cash going to ride off in that helicopter". Like surely that is too much weight, did none of the characters think about this?

Also, both Garret Dillahunt and Theo Rossi appeared multiple times in the Sarah Connor Chronicles where they were both killed by Terminators, at least one of whom could switch their red eyes to blue, so I thought it was a funny coincidence when some of these zombies were revealed to have glowing blue eyes and Terminator style skulls.
It's a stretch but I feel like the scene when they run out onto the roof top and the end and the helicopter isn't there is a nod to L4D2 .

Actually he isnt, he's a part of Alpha Phi Alpha. The brand is most likely an easter egg by Snyder for Darkseid, but also because Zeus is the Zombie Alpha and Vander is the Omega, or the last to survive with the infection

@@trueapeman4192 what I got from Omari interview, Zack wanted the character to have that brand thinking the frats were the same. But his main draw for it’s usage was the connection to Darkseid
