Super late and probably irrelevant, but they missed one of the key aspects of touchstones. Touchstones and Convictions are intrinsically linked, your touchstones hold you to humanity by reminding you of your convictions. They either exemplify that conviction or affected your kindred's life in a way that inspired them to have that belief

A Tremere without Blood Sorcery is called "Expendable." You are dealing with a Clan that has. Hierarchy based on one's mastery of Thaumaturgy, The Pyramid may have lost its capstone, but it still stands.

Is it really that improbable? A clan doesn't entrench themselves in the camarilla and not just becoming tools by stirring a pot of blood all night. They know a thing or 2 about power. Controlling a cartel would mean the chantry could acquire rare, illegal and sometimes taboo(at least to kindred) ingredients and relics without relying on someone else. And plenty of gangs/cartels have been known to associate themselves within the occult and paganism real or not. Maybe one day a high ranked cartel member stumbles on to something real...

Zellan failing at becoming a filmmaker and becoming a simple barista lead them to wanting power, I think a Ventrue could understand the urge to be in charge

One's career choices are less important than a person's ambition when it comes to a Ventrue. They are drawn to people who crave power and want more from their place in the world, typically the rich/powerful but not always. Sometimes it can also just boil down to an obsession with the particular person.. like my ex's Tremere character, her biological mother was an occult obsessed researcher that didn't want to let go of her daughter after the Embrace, despite the daughter in life being more the type you would expect to be turned by a Brujah. Knowing my character was suspicious about the whole thing, she called in a boon to have me embraced by a Gargoyle, despite being the more logical Tremere as I was her research assistant in life.

Composer and resolve are new variation traits opposed to (Appearance and Perception) and those two new variant traits are now what decides what your characters Willpower is going to be. Personally I feel that this would effect my decision process to an extent. Willpower is very important in this game and I feel that this new element is forcing me to use these two new traits. It almost assures that I would put my 4 into one of them and one of my 3's into the other.
To the people hating on the non-binary comment: It's almost as if people use characters in narratives as a means of self expression through art or something.

So Nigel was "embraced while setting his art ablaze" in an enclosed space. So either Vampires aren't bothered by fire any more in 5th ed or his sire had no problem passing that Rötschreck test.
White Wolf published Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition this year. V5 picks up right where the old lore left off, advances the story right up to tonight. :)
Vampire the Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition was published in 2011 and was going strong until this year when it was killed by V5. You've missed quite a lot of excellent stuff. :)
I think Requiem failed with the players who played the Vampire the Masquerade: World of Darkness. Lot people didn't like how the final night unfold, and how they destroyed the old system.

I too am a Vampire the Masquerade fan and bought the rule book. There are no games or fans of the game in my KS area, so I would have LOVED to join your team as a Vampire!! I LOVE the dark, mysterious, creepy so much, my DnD campaign was an UNDEAD campaign.
If I was the storyteller I would have the Baron constantly misgendering the Non binary character at first. I mean the Baron is older and isn't as aware of the gender Non-Binary complex. I would slowly start using the correct pronouns and title.
Barons still live in the current times. They would have heard about it just like you did. Though they probably wouldn't be able to keep straight all the time. Like Abrams from 'L.A. by Night' is aware of social media & refers to them, but often mislables the app names "instabook" & "tweet tweet companies".
So, now would be a really good time to convert this lets play over to Requiem 2e. You know, what with the massive controversies surrounding New White Wolf, the fact that New White Wolf will shortly no longer exist, and that V5 is now dead in the water.
It isn't dead in the water.. they handed over control to Modiphius who was producing the physical copies anyway. They rereleased the Anarch and Camarilla books after clearing the offensive content, I literally just got the new versions. World of Darkness will continue under them.. they have already announced new V5 sourcebooks in the works.

Depends what you mean by violent. The 'Alleycat' Predator type is pretty violent as you ambush people. 'Cleaver' type feeds on their family members and usually manipulates & gaslight them into letting you feed or outright taking blood from them. 'Siren' type also can take a violent turn as you feed during the act of Sex. 'Osiris' can also get pretty dicey.
I couldn't disagree more. I personally find that dementation was all too often pigeon-boxing and stifling for a truly interesting Malky play. Then again, my one and only VtM character who lasted more than 1-3 sessions was an Auspex heavy Malk with a single point/dot in Deme, that I felt I was forced to take because the rest of the playgroup, so I'm quite probably the least objective person one could bring this issue up with.
I've seen plenty of Malkavians who didn't take the signature aspect at character creation. Down the line they often do end up taking points in it and it really makes for a more well rounded experience to not always go straight for the "crazy" but rather build up from just standard mental illness to actually having the madness network plugged into your brain. Can help keep groups that play together a lot guessing as to whether your madness is important or crazy, if you fall into a groove with a storyteller the others will start meta-gaming the signals between the two pf you. My group's storyteller liked to use pieces of paper to hide the madness, some of them just had random doodles on them LOL, to really emphasize the effect so we never knew what we could trust out of a Malkavian.. the way it should be.

The name alone attracts all kinds of geeks & nerds and the stuff they do is ok but I have never subscribed because I couldn't find anything interesting enough besides CR. I know it's not, but anyways lets say It's me alone feeling this way... but then you have the view count: nothing else here gathers 300k views in a week, or ever; there's a lone giant in a room of dwarves. Also, any simple video on CR's own channel gets way more views but enough of CR. The point is that I'd like to like Geek & Sundry because it has great potential but there's something missing or failing here. Maybe I'm wrong and that's not the problem but, at times, G&S feels like a RPG Player Handbook illustrated by Dr. Seuss, if you get what I mean.

At any case, the moment CR's contract expires, this channel is gonna pull a Creatures and I have a feeling everyone's gonna pack their shit up and leave while G&S slowly bleeds out until it gets taken out behind a shed and put down. I genuinely don't understand if their other content makes money but seeing the amount of views they get, I seriously doubt it. It feels like they have a bunch of crewmembers and sets/costumes sitting around on the days CR isn't happening and they just want SOMETHING to waste money on.
@@trodat07 I think I can see where you're coming from at least, though I find it difficult to judge G&S that way because that is literally exactly what they're doing: Geeky & Nerdy stuff. I am not quite sure what you expect. CR or this isn't any less nerdy or geeky than their other content, it's just that you have gotten used to seeing Liam O'Brian's face on camera *pretending to be an elf* for crying out loud. CR's earlier videos have about as many views as most of G&S's stuff does. And the comparison to CR isn't quite fair either, not everyone that plays tabletop games can be an Emmy award winner or massively popular or at least well known voice actor/director who has an already running tabletop campaign older than two years with other well known voice actors/directors. I agree that CR stands out from a lot of G&S's content, though for different reasons maybe. I think what you're realizing is that you're not the target audience for a lot of the nerdy stuff G&S provide :) And I am not saying that as a bad thing, I am not trying to push you out or anything. But that doesn't make it childish either. It just makes it different.
Just dont let Wil Wheaton play this since this edition harshly punishes players that consistently roll bad. Could have been better if you made a serious around one of the previous 20th anniversary edition or the Dark ages edition.
V20 is waaaaaaaaaay harsher on poor rolls. You lose successes for 1's in the old editions. Critical failures can be rolled on a in pools where you roll a success. V5 decimated V20, V20 is actually hot garbage compared. Especially with all the garbage over 5 dot powers gumming up the works.
Well wouldn't it be amazing to watch Wil role bad and regularly be a terrifying force of Bestial insanity? He would burn willpower like crazy and really deliver some excitement.. at least for us.

A non-binary, barrista, failed filmmaker. That's pretty far from a Ventrue. A more suitable clan would be Malkavian to add to the madness.

To the people hating on the non-binary comment: It's almost as if people use characters in narratives as a means of self expression through art or something.

@@ella353 because getting triggered by their internalized biases prevents them from enjoying a game. Imagine accepting all the murder, violence and Vampires being Vampires, but their suspension of disbelief ends when one of those characters mentions being nonbinary! Now we must draw the line 😂

White Wolf published Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition this year. V5 picks up right where the old lore left off, advances the story right up to tonight. :)
Vampire the Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition was published in 2011 and was going strong until this year when it was killed by V5. You've missed quite a lot of excellent stuff. :)
CutToTheAce The V20 is where the old school stuff is, V5 is a bit of new stuff heavily influenced by the old.
I think Requiem failed with the players who played the Vampire the Masquerade: World of Darkness. Lot people didn't like how the final night unfold, and how they destroyed the old system.
Will there be any following up on this? Love the characters and I can't wait to see coterie creation :)

I too am a Vampire the Masquerade fan and bought the rule book. There are no games or fans of the game in my KS area, so I would have LOVED to join your team as a Vampire!! I LOVE the dark, mysterious, creepy so much, my DnD campaign was an UNDEAD campaign.

If I was the storyteller I would have the Baron constantly misgendering the Non binary character at first.
I mean the Baron is older and isn't as aware of the gender Non-Binary complex. I would slowly start using the correct pronouns and title.
Barons still live in the current times. They would have heard about it just like you did. Though they probably wouldn't be able to keep straight all the time. Like Abrams from 'L.A. by Night' is aware of social media & refers to them, but often mislables the app names "instabook" & "tweet tweet companies".

So, now would be a really good time to convert this lets play over to Requiem 2e. You know, what with the massive controversies surrounding New White Wolf, the fact that New White Wolf will shortly no longer exist, and that V5 is now dead in the water.
I'd love to see a professional VTR game with lots of covenant action. G&S's L.A. by Night (VTM5 is pretty damn good). I wish VTR got that much love.
It isn't dead in the water.. they handed over control to Modiphius who was producing the physical copies anyway. They rereleased the Anarch and Camarilla books after clearing the offensive content, I literally just got the new versions. World of Darkness will continue under them.. they have already announced new V5 sourcebooks in the works.

Where are all the violent feeding? Have they been censored out?
Depends what you mean by violent. The 'Alleycat' Predator type is pretty violent as you ambush people. 'Cleaver' type feeds on their family members and usually manipulates & gaslight them into letting you feed or outright taking blood from them. 'Siren' type also can take a violent turn as you feed during the act of Sex. 'Osiris' can also get pretty dicey.

I couldn't disagree more. I personally find that dementation was all too often pigeon-boxing and stifling for a truly interesting Malky play.
Then again, my one and only VtM character who lasted more than 1-3 sessions was an Auspex heavy Malk with a single point/dot in Deme, that I felt I was forced to take because the rest of the playgroup, so I'm quite probably the least objective person one could bring this issue up with.
@@jandex4838 both narrator and malk players must be creative to workout a plot integrated with madness. I had a great time with my characters.
I've seen plenty of Malkavians who didn't take the signature aspect at character creation. Down the line they often do end up taking points in it and it really makes for a more well rounded experience to not always go straight for the "crazy" but rather build up from just standard mental illness to actually having the madness network plugged into your brain. Can help keep groups that play together a lot guessing as to whether your madness is important or crazy, if you fall into a groove with a storyteller the others will start meta-gaming the signals between the two pf you. My group's storyteller liked to use pieces of paper to hide the madness, some of them just had random doodles on them LOL, to really emphasize the effect so we never knew what we could trust out of a Malkavian.. the way it should be.

Geek & Sundry should start to understand that its main demographic target is around 30 yo and shake off that "Nickelodeon for grown-ups" feeling.
How do you mean? I haven't watched anything Nickelodeon in like a million years, but I don't get a particularly Nickel-y feeling from this either.
@@arnerademacker8548 Except CR and some other content (like this video f.e.) most of Geek & Sundry has a slight network-channel-for-kids vibe. The name alone attracts all kinds of geeks & nerds and the stuff they do is ok but I have never subscribed because I couldn't find anything interesting enough besides CR. I know it's not, but anyways lets say It's me alone feeling this way... but then you have the view count: nothing else here gathers 300k views in a week, or ever; there's a lone giant in a room of dwarves. Also, any simple video on CR's own channel gets way more views but enough of CR.
The point is that I'd like to like Geek & Sundry because it has great potential but there's something missing or failing here. Maybe I'm wrong and that's not the problem but, at times, G&S feels like a RPG Player Handbook illustrated by Dr. Seuss, if you get what I mean.

At any case, the moment CR's contract expires, this channel is gonna pull a Creatures and I have a feeling everyone's gonna pack their shit up and leave while G&S slowly bleeds out until it gets taken out behind a shed and put down. I genuinely don't understand if their other content makes money but seeing the amount of views they get, I seriously doubt it. It feels like they have a bunch of crewmembers and sets/costumes sitting around on the days CR isn't happening and they just want SOMETHING to waste money on.
@@trodat07 I think I can see where you're coming from at least, though I find it difficult to judge G&S that way because that is literally exactly what they're doing: Geeky & Nerdy stuff. I am not quite sure what you expect. CR or this isn't any less nerdy or geeky than their other content, it's just that you have gotten used to seeing Liam O'Brian's face on camera *pretending to be an elf* for crying out loud. CR's earlier videos have about as many views as most of G&S's stuff does.
And the comparison to CR isn't quite fair either, not everyone that plays tabletop games can be an Emmy award winner or massively popular or at least well known voice actor/director who has an already running tabletop campaign older than two years with other well known voice actors/directors. I agree that CR stands out from a lot of G&S's content, though for different reasons maybe.
I think what you're realizing is that you're not the target audience for a lot of the nerdy stuff G&S provide :) And I am not saying that as a bad thing, I am not trying to push you out or anything. But that doesn't make it childish either. It just makes it different.

Just dont let Wil Wheaton play this since this edition harshly punishes players that consistently roll bad. Could have been better if you made a serious around one of the previous 20th anniversary edition or the Dark ages edition.

Will often rolls just fine on non-d20 rolls actually, so he might be just fine here.
V20 is waaaaaaaaaay harsher on poor rolls. You lose successes for 1's in the old editions. Critical failures can be rolled on a in pools where you roll a success. V5 decimated V20, V20 is actually hot garbage compared. Especially with all the garbage over 5 dot powers gumming up the works.
Well wouldn't it be amazing to watch Wil role bad and regularly be a terrifying force of Bestial insanity? He would burn willpower like crazy and really deliver some excitement.. at least for us.
