In one of the earlier vids, someone commented that you should make two fighters: a heavy fighter and a light fighter or "Dark Roast" and "Light Roast". I think that would be a fun project and the different ship would be used against different threats, for example, the heavy fighter could be used to attack bases. Once again I did not come up with this idea, I just added to it. Btw, you make great videos and I would never have started playing Space Engineers If I hadn't seen the Pertam series. I really hope you keep making vids and I if I could I would have subscribed months ago. P.S. That was a good fight! Nice work Re-Caffeinator!
For the AI stuff: If you put a GPS coordinate near the home base and the PAMAmazon Distribution Center (PDC?) you can then use the AI Basic Task Block to have the drone fly to the GPS coordinate _without using the flight recorder_. Then, while docked on the connector, use the AI Flight Recorder to record waypoints _leaving_ the connector (only 4 waypoints really, then stop the recording). Then in the AI Flight Recorder block, reverse the waypoints (so now it lands instead of takes off). Do the same at the home base connector. Then "wire it up" with timer-blocks and what-not and it should work great. I have this set-up for my defense drones that auto-land for ammo refills and re-charging and it works great, even if they were 2km away fighting something. This lets you allow the AI to manage the flight between the two points without having to worry about specific waypoints; this should work across the globe in theory. Splitsie has a GREAT video on this: th-cam.com/video/SqZrD9tmH_E/w-d-xo.html
16:08 you could utilize the new signal blocks to send a radio signal to shut down your base guns to conserve ammo and salvage. Aswell as use those ai defense drones you have built. Have a block on every ship to release them for fast reaction
Since you RE-built the salvaged FLYer, and to keep with the general coffee theme... name the new ship Re-Flyed Beans. (j/k) When you get to space, if you build an outpost/base, build some defense satellites around it. (Battery, gyro, solar panel, cargo, defensive AI block, big gun, lots of armor)
I do something very similar in Survival. 1) Fly your large grid ship to 15-20 blocks above your base. 2) Make it a station. 3) Build a Full-size battery in the air and let it fall onto your ship. 4) Make the battery a station! WA-LA... Floating DEFENSIVE Turret Pods. 5)Put a solar panel (or wind gen) and a cargo container with some ammo; cover the whole thing in heavy steel and put 4 or 5 guns on it! I usually place between 3 - 5 of these for the Reavers... Terrors of the Universe! 6) Bonus! (Don't forget a decoy on the top away from all the guns, so they shoot at that first!)
A space station/outpost would be a cool thing, especially if you use some of the new hallway blocks that were added. On this episode the 'new' ship is interesting, a nice design.
Maybe call it the Carafe...? Since its for going long distances, and a carafe is a way to take coffee a long distance away from a stationary coffee maker...
remember to put o2 tanks if you are going to space or a h2o2 gen , also i recomend a hydro engine, the wings you fill with blocks you can try to fill them with small batteries, hydro tanks small , an ore detector ? to scout for stuff ?
I know its weeks later and others may have suggested Extend the arms to temporary merge blocks Paint them red with an LCD to tell people what to remove. That allows for a blueprint with the arms However, it would make repairs harder
Ship Name is the Java Hero. And name that connector Docking Bay Hangar 1. Glad you re-used that ship, good fight too. Maybe you put in an upper level hangar with armored retractable doors on pistons.
So I just thought of this, what you should do with your drones just to ensure they do not collide with each other, since they are running on way points anyway, when they reach their maximum altitude way point when lifting off, have an event controller that turns on collision avoidance, and when they have reached their max altitude way point at their landing area or above a job, turn that collision avoidance off... then, another event controller does the same in reverse, using container mass as the distinction between coming and going. (If container is under 25%full and at waypoint 1, turn on collision avoidance, if over 50% full and at waypoint 1, turn off collision avoidance... tweak as needed)
If not being able to project the Re-Caffienator’s arms bugs you, you can download the space engineers plugin loader and the multigrid projector plugin that adds that feature. You’d have to launch the game through the plugin loader everytime but I just have steam set to launch the game through it so it’s not too much of a hassle
That's only for welding subgrids projected in a blueprint that already saved the subgrids. This was something janky with the actual ctrl+B blueprint function in-game not saving the subgrids to blueprint (or else Andrew has habitually saved blueprints with ctrl+shift+B without usually making subgrid designs?). Last I played, ctrl+B should save all subgrids in the blueprint. Then in creative you can paste in a complete ship including subgrids from that blueprint.
@@dakaodowell he was looking at the blueprint through the projector. Which by default does not show the subgrids. He may or may not have saved the subgrids to the blueprint. We don’t actually see what it looks like if he attempts to paste the blueprint. His exact words were “oh, multiple grids are not supported with this”. Implying he was shocked that the subgrids don’t project.
I have just started watching and also playing the game on xbox. I just wondered if you tried the event controllers to help maintain you loot as you could set them to turn your sorters on and off when cargo gets at %. will admit they do glitch out sometimes. and gotta make sure you always hit the and gate.
I still think you should make the AMG Sandstorm your space station. Take it to space, turn it into a station and fix it up every now and again when you’re there. It’s got a big hangar for your ships as well as a whole entertainment area. It’s perfect. Plus it’s reminiscent of the last series without making it too major of a point for this one. Just a thought though
Could you add a colored interior light for each of the timer blocks, and add to the timer actions to turn off all lights except the color it is associated with?
Not sure what happened with your blueprint and the Recaffeinator's subgrids. Ctrl+B SHOULD catch all subgrids. It's only ctrl+shift+B that isolates only the targeted grid, no subgrids, and ctrl+alt+B in include all magnetically locked grids.
What if you made that piston ice machine sideways with two of them in a rotar. They would spin in a circle ⭕ expanding collecting ice. You could keep putting piston ontop of piston to expand the circle. ?

18:41 it's literally directly to the right
By the way, that big explosion you saw when the reavers attacked was a hydrogen tank on the Sandstorm.
A space station/outpost would be a cool thing, especially if you use some of the new hallway blocks that were added. On this episode the 'new' ship is interesting, a nice design.
Binge watching this series. You got me hooked. Escape from Mars and Typhoon was the gateway drug!
You'll need to find another spot for a connector on the new ship. Nice video .
Maybe call it the Carafe...? Since its for going long distances, and a carafe is a way to take coffee a long distance away from a stationary coffee maker...
Love the idea for the ship name. Great reasoning too.
A couple of heavy chin cannons and a railgun down the top [spine] would make it really epic... ~( 'w')/
If you keep those colors you could call it the pumpkin spice latte
If you want to there is a plugin loader you can use and ome of those adds multi grid support for projectors
remember to put o2 tanks if you are going to space or a h2o2 gen , also i recomend a hydro engine, the wings you fill with blocks you can try to fill them with small batteries, hydro tanks small , an ore detector ? to scout for stuff ?
The Recaffeinator!! Woohoo!!
Great episode! The new ship look fast and you have the coffee theme going so how about calling it "The Expresso"
I second this.
me too :) this is a good name for the ship as well
I know its weeks later and others may have suggested
Extend the arms to temporary merge blocks
Paint them red with an LCD to tell people what to remove. That allows for a blueprint with the arms
However, it would make repairs harder
the ship name should be the Caffeine-bean or the Caffeine-Gleam
I hope you guys like these suggestions for the ship :)

You don't need to use event controllers for that, you can just have the AI block's waypoints toggle that at those points.
@travispluid3603 good call, I personally haven't played since shortly after the last major update, so, I'm a bit rusty on what can do what
A normal ship that flies to space would be a spaceplane or ssto. :)
That new ship looks so cool and beefy
U should name it coffee warrior
Love the design of the new (rebuilt) ship.
Weir thig is, everytime i go to that "dangerous" encounter, even reaver ones, the "danger" simply despawn. Maybe I AM the danger...
The new ship could be named Espresso’s Pride! Packs a punch with its ion engines and it’s similar to its original name!
As soon as he said let’s get it here I thought no because I remembered the first time he tried to get it to the main base.

Just build an X-wing. Your fighter ship already looks close to one
You must do a ship to transport small ships! create a "LAAT Carrier" ☝🤓
Make sure to hydrogen thruster toggle for efficient space travel!
It’s the ‘Cosmic Coffee’
The new ship should be called the coffee maker
Call the new ship the Double Shot
Oh HECK YEAH!!!! HOW did YT NOT inform me of this VIDEO?!?!
looking like the aliens 2 marine drop ship now lol
Didn’t you place decoys around the big hangar pit, if so they must have done their job pretty well
I have just started watching and also playing the game on xbox. I just wondered if you tried the event controllers to help maintain you loot as you could set them to turn your sorters on and off when cargo gets at %. will admit they do glitch out sometimes. and gotta make sure you always hit the and gate.
Hey! dont forget to take a blueprint of your space ship. thx for video
Thanks for the reminder!
Everyone underestimates the small cargo

Tensor fascia-latte

Finally another episode! What is the mod that you use to fly faster than 100m/s
You already have a drone station. How about automating it before you go to space. to protect the base?
The new ship name can be
*Gravity Defier
*Sonic boom
* Honey bean
PS keep the orange colour
Should rename the ship to Expresso to go with the Re-caffenator
leave a title
Not sure what happened with your blueprint and the Recaffeinator's subgrids.

Projectors don’t project subgrids

The ship could be called "Bean"?
I think that the word "pride" should stay in the name so how about you name it "Caffinators Pride" ?
Shuttle Cup?
Make space ship that can carry other ships
Name for the new ship: star flyer?
I dont know if u should watch this or got to bed
Its 1:14 am for me
Fix the Sandstorm please
AMG Folger
Ship looks like a Creamsicle Latte
short one today :(
I’m getting better at this game but it’s still hard
This is a short episode
Ship name "The Hampster" for its large cheeks
