    Hi Brian! Read you comment on Ashley’s channel so I had to check you out. You are way too hard on yourself. I found this video quite informative with the breakdown of potential profitability. You’ve got a good voice and I find you very relatable. Only the humble opinion of someone who watches a lot of reselling videos but is not ready to be a content creator. Cheers 💃

      You can sell new products as new. some brands will get mad at you which is part of the learning curve. but most are okay. Usually they will only care if you are a massive seller that clearly is getting some private deals for their products somehow.

      @bryanronning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I picked up some womens ralph lauren embroidered boyfriend shirts for 20 bucks full price. I picked up i think 5 of them and they all sold pretty quickly for 75-80. they retailed for i think 145. It just depends on what they price is at and what the retail price is. generally anything under 100 retail probably needs a clearance sticker. On the flip side I see tommy bahama shirts that also retail for 150ish but they price them at 40 so I would need a clearance sticker on that was well so it just depends.

    on average how long does it take for the products to sell?

    • @bryanronning
      @bryanronning  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends on the sell through rate, I unfortunately didn't go over this in the video but when you type the item in the search it will tell you how many are listed, then when you check the sold box it will tell you how many of that item has sold recently. Those cole haan shoes are selling as many that are being listed, I got a sale every few days with those, some items (the nikes) sell slower. You just have to learn and do your research over time, and of course make mistakes and have bad buys to learn. It also depends on how much you undercut the competition in price, so the faster you can list the cheaper you can sell your products for.

    How do you know all the taxes and shipping fees while you are at the store? Are you using some sort of app to calculate it for you?

    • @bryanronning
      @bryanronning  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sir, a lot of people starting out use a spread sheet which you can get from other resellers for cheap or free. Once things grow generally (not everyone) people use software like godaddy or quickbooks + some others which i dont know much about. For me software automates a lot for you so its worth the price imo but only after I had a few grand in sales.
      After re-reading your comment I realized you meant when im at the store. I just do the calculation in my head. Ebay fees are around 13 percent for shoes (only around 3 percent for athletic shoes over 100) and I make the buyer pay shipping depending on where they live. So if I turn a 10 dollar pair of shoes into 50 + buyer pays shipping based on their area. That means the sale will be around 63 dollars so 10 (cost) + 13% of 63 (I just round up to 7 dollars to make it easy in my head) so thats 17 dollars into 50 if they buyer pays shipping. also tax
      Also you can google ebay calculator until you get it
      hope this makes sense haha

      lower the price and get the money back or take the loss, that's how business works. Learn to not make the same mistakes but there will always be stuff that doesn't sell. don't buy more inventory than you can afford, grow slow and think long term. As long as you cash flow and your wins outweigh the losses then you're good.

    • @bryanronning
      @bryanronning  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive heard this with various brands. I heard the same thing about north face and arcteryx and other resellers say they dont have a problem. I think the problem is when you sell really high amounts of volume, the brand may come after you since you have a huge influence on the brands reputation. I dont think small resellers who sell a variety of different brands will generally have any problems. For example if I got to know the manager at nike outlet and he was able to use his account to buy lots of shoes for me at wholesale price, hes gets instant profit and I put in the work to resell each shoe online, I may be in trouble doing that kind of volume because nike wouldnt want me taking a huge part of their market.
