I remember watching a video about SNSD’s history and the story involving this song is pretty crazy. In 2008, the girls were going to a music show to perform this when they got into a car accident. And at the time, they were still rookies and not the iconic superstars they are today. So basically if you were late, you got a lifetime ban from that show 😳 They walked all the way there and made it just in time. And the song won!
When I heard this song first I listened to the audio version and not the music video version and I really thought it was taeyeon who did the first highnote😭 and turns out it was Jessica they really have similar voice in the earlier days

I kinda miss it too It was their success formula back then Taeyeon + Jessica Seo + Fany + Sunny Yuri + Soo Yoona + Hyo All of them having their counterparts in lines and mantaining certain equilibrium With OT8 the formula changed completely

It's still amazing to know back then Sunny was more of a lead vocalist than Tiffany (obviously because Tiffany was still learning Korean) Now Tiffany even gets more lines than Taeyeon sometimes.
I think that back then, Yoona only sang in the first verse And Hyoyeon was her opposite; she didn’t sing in the first verse/chorus, she tended to sing in the second verse/chorus or even just the bridge

That's why despite the poor amount of lines she received, she mostly sang in the first verse to catch the viewer's eye. It happens in ITNW, Girls' Generation, Kissing You, Gee, RDR and Hoot, for example.
First it was Tiffany who didn't got lead vocalist lines now it is sunny imo! Sunny's line have improved since Jessica have left but still seohyun and Tiffany get near to main vocalist lines! Anyway I miss ot9 sm 😔!
I think it was because TTS. On early days, Tiffany didn't get as many lines as Sunny, but she eventually got more attention, especially on japanese releases like Jessica. After TTS, those 3 were the most prominent voices, even when Jessica was still there (IGAB and Mr Mr are examples of this) and then they were the ones who got the biggest amount of lines during OT8 era as well as Tiffany and Seohyun getting the armonizations that Jessica had with Taeyeon.
Even in Igab album, if we remove lost in love , Jessica got far more lines than tiff and seo. The only two albums , I feel were can come into this category are love and peace(which I can't even understand because almost 75% of album is cute and bubbly, which is more of sica sound than tts) and maybe Mr Mr(not as much as the previous except for wait a minute and backhug, which she clearly suits).
