  • In this week's LiveStream, we will take a look at some Digital Whiteboards and how they can help when presenting - not just online, but also in-person. Using these tools is a great way to bring more dynamic variety into your presentations, extend your audience reach, and create digital artifacts of the work you create.

Great content! I am evaluating digital whiteboards for online classes in the Teams environment. Miro is looking intriguing. Does it give you the ability to collaborate with guest users in Teams as well as our 365 users? Also, can you create these ahead of time and brought into the sessions/breakouts for collaboration? If so,, are they easy to bring back up for discussion in the main room after the breakout session?
Is there a better alternative for this use case?

Thank you for all the information, Frank!
I may ad that, for my experience with geometry descriptive online classes, with a single student or a small group, there's nothing better than MS Whiteboard. I draw a lot, so it's the one with the best tools for the task. Even with all the changes they've made... It has some problems once in a while and doesn't work, so the second choice is OpenBoard. The third one is also my prefered for presencial classes: Powerpoint, not exactly an whiteboard but with great tools to draw with a very well build series of slides.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to post such a thoughtful comment.
I’ll have to try out Openboard - it’s new to me.
I totally agree about Microsoft Whiteboard - it’s the one I seem to come back to almost all the time. For some reason it just seems the most imitative and easiest to use.
You also bring up a very good point - PowerPoint! A number of Microsoft Applications allow for inking now - PowerPoint, OneNote, etc. - that’s a good call and information.

@@LearningandTechnology, the main difference, for me, is not only the quality of the drawing tools but the infinite area of work. The "pages" on most of the whiteboards are so limited for my work, as I often have to make large/big drawings, or copy and paste some side by side for methodology comparison. On Opend Board I can work around the space limitations, but I have to force myself to adjust. With Powerpoint I have pre-set slides for the drawings I want to do, which are very good for building a lesson, atract the student attention and help im organize.
I have to say that the most important tool for all this to work is, in fact, the graphic pen (Xp-Pen in my case). As a sharing screen and surface to draw directly, it makes a huge diference in the flow and quality of my lessons. I use it both in online and presencial classes.

@@ricohnian XP Pen makes some great tools! They actually co-sponsored one of my videos and I’m using the Deco Fun (portable) and a beautiful Artist 24Pro - which isn’t “portable”, but is so nice.

I am currently researching the best options for a new Whiteboard option. Since you posted this comment, have you changed your mind about the best whiteboard tools? We would have preferred to use Whiteboard, as we are a 365 shop, but we have heard the problem have a problem allowing guest users to collaborate on whiteboards. Have you experienced the same thing?

@@mlmiles1 I keep using it the same way as my first comment. As I don't allow my students to collaborate, I have other ways to interact, I cannot help you here.

Thanks! I had some issues with the live-streaming that I think I’ve resolved.
