    When I'm using v mount for handheld I stick it on my belt with a cable that goes to the camera rig with 1 male to 4 female d-tap adapter so I can plug in my external recorder and other accesoaries. Also if you're using 98Wh v mount (14.4v) for powering 7.2V devices (with 14.4 d-tap to 7.2 dummy battery adaptor) The mAh that this battery gives you is around 13 600 mAh which is massive (compared to 1800 mAh of the LP-E6 for ex.) When I'm using Ronin M for gimbal shots I also use its p-tap ports to power the camera and external rec. This way the whole setup is little lighter, and it gives you more quality gimbal time in exchange of less battery life but also less sweat :)

      The belt mounted battery is an awesome solution! I haven't used it apart from lights, but I can see how it would save a lot of weight.

    Another valuable video, thank you. I purchased the IndiPRO 95Wh based on your rigging the C200 video. I look forward to more of these.

    Hey man, nice one about v-mounts. I do have an issue with those batteries though: they are big and heavy. So if you want to shoot handheld or on a flycam...smaller is better. So there are the canon batteries which are insanely expensive. But I did find seemingly the only 3rd party batteries for the c200: Swit LB-CA50 - they are actually placed in the battery socket of the camera and stick out a bit like the canon ones. They are attached though with a D-tap cable which you can get with an additional D-tap power output... not bad for small and light setups. I'll probably make a video about them - really useful ones! Again, compliments for your channel - one of the reasons I bought the c200 :-)

      The Keen Pixel whre I can find these as the d-tap out is perfect for powering external atomos rec

      They are just as expensive right, but don’t you have to plug it into the camera power also?

      Hey, Thanks for the feedback! I'll check out the swift - they seem like a cool option.

      Hey everybody, I've just made a quick video about these batteries: th-cam.com/video/MFi3GFCxsz0/w-d-xo.html that should answer your questions :-) The Swit batteries cost around half the price of the Canon ones.

    That mount looks like a perfect solution for me. Just powering the c200b and an Atomos monitor. Thanks for the review!

    Thanks man! You are my primary source of information since I own a Canon C200. Just got the Tilta Nucleus M wireless follow focus and planning on rigging out my Zacuto system with the Bright Tangerine Misfit, and Zacuto's new Dual hand grip system.

    I wouldn´t buy the 200wh battery since it´s prohibited in flights by TSA and airlines, but It would be amazing for local and roadtrip gigs.

    Could you do a comparison video of gold mount vs v mount? LOVE the channel BTW!!

    • @Crimsonengine
      @Crimsonengine  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! There is no real difference but the shape of the pins on the back. Gold mount was once proprietary for Anton Bauer, but they've let that lapse and now anyone one can make them. In my experience, V mount is more ubiquitous and if you are starting out, thats what I would get.

    Thank you for the video! How much time would you say a 98Wh V-mount last while powering a C200, external monitor (something like SmallHD 702), Tilta Nucleus-M motor and a wireless video sender? I'm trying to calculate how many of them I should get for a 12-15 hour shoot day. The 220Wh option seems better suited for this kind of work, but I don't want to lose the ability to fly freely

    In the BMPCC 4K manual they recommend removing the LP-E6 battery if you use this kind of external batteries...But you recommend to leave it in?

    • @Crimsonengine
      @Crimsonengine  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that's because the BMPCC charges from the power input, so it would be like leaving your camera on change. The C200 doesn't do this. Its fine, even desirable, to leave the battery in while you have external power.

    Another great vid, as always. Just curious, do you know if the batteries need the proprietary chargers to mount. I own IndiPro V-Mount batteries and chargers but would spring for the Shape 270Wh battery, but not if I also need to buy a separate charger for it. Any chance you would know if the Shape batteries will charge on the IndiPro charger? Thx either way!

    • @Crimsonengine
      @Crimsonengine  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as I know, the chargers and batteries are universal. There are two standards: v-mount and gold mount, but as long as the battery fits the charger, it should charge no issue.

  • @QasimAli-yo7sl

    Bro it put me in big trouble because when I attached v.mount battery directly to my canon c100 my camera is not working now due to high voltage.it's board burned due high Voltage as u know v.mount battery is 14v but camera need only 8v therefore I did big mistake and also why don't know about these type of issues which are created by these kind of issues nd what we need to do it.......all of you make videos like a advertisement for these kind of products but not tell us properly how to use it nd about it voltage power nd cameras voltage etc

    • @Crimsonengine
      @Crimsonengine  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not the battery that regulates the voltage, it's the plate you attach it to that connects to the camera. This is what you need: bhpho.to/2JLEoFFbhpho.to/2JLEoFF
