You say old lady as if that is a bad thing. To get yourself current and up to date I think you need to realize us "old ladies" can rock just about anything these days and most of us have a lot more money and less baggage to do so. The days of the old lady reference is passé. If you are lucky you will get to be one. I am amazed at how much cool stuff I can rock at 61.
I forgot to mention we usually rock all of this without bleached teeth, fake nails, fake boobs, fake eyelashes, fake hair color or wigs. The coolest of us old ladies have become accepting of our real self and celebrate our personal characteristics the. Style it accordingly.
You can even find converter pieces- they are like these little combs to put into your hair; and you can fix the brooch on it and voila! hair ornament. I've seen them on etsy, but surely you can get them elsewhere, too.
You have many good points, thank you for that - but it would be refreshing if you could focus on style, cut, colour etc and not always hang it on specific brands. Just a suggestion - I wouldn’t wear a logo brooch - let them do their own marketing, I want to show a more personal style than just shopping expensively
I have had a love affair with brooches for well a really long time. Awe, I do love a CC brooch!!! Some more tips: add to a cloth headband ( secure some of your hair if the brooch is heavy to add stability). I keep an arsenal of non CC brooches in an over the door organizational holder and add them to my hats - yes I am a hat girl to, IMHO they look " dope" on pull on knit hats. I also love them on blanket scarves or really any scarf. I am always taken back by how many compliments I receive on brooches , mostly from those that say they have them, but just don't know how to style. Oh and any top that has straps - pin one to each side and skip a statement necklace , as Lauren says it doesn't have to match. HTH. Wishing all and especially fashionistas a happy, healthy 2017!
Great video Lauren. Question, does one have to wear a Chanel handbag with a Chanel brooch? Can one wear a Chanel brooch with a different designer handbag? Thank you.
I have two Chanel brooches and only one Chanel handbag. So no I don't wear my Chanel brooch with just my Chanel handbag. You can rock that Chanel brooch with any handbag you want....JMO :)
I love brooches! I have a massive collection, but have shy away from wearing them lately as they tend to leave pin holes in certain fabrics. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for sharing...
Obviously a Chanel one would fit anything. I guess people watching this video have normal ones. And, if you don't like Chanel, "Please, get out of here"? You need a serious reality check girl.
Estate sales…Gram Gram’s jewelry box and bougie Aunties…these are where the stunning brooches will be found … Honor and wisdom go hand in hand. Honoring our amazing mature women and learning from them; adding to, not taking away, will produce true style. The older my firstborn gets, and the further her law career moves forward, the more she looks to me for style advice. Fashion comes and goes, true style is curated for a lifetime of beauty.
Honestly, I don't think that a chanel brooch is a statement, it def is not a style statement. I am wondering why you are offending old ladies out there. You are not gonna be young forever.
You are not very professional. Especially with the term "old ladies". A professional would have said "mature women". I am not near a mature age yet, but I found your terminology offensive since I happen to know many mature women. . Learn to address groups of people properly. You could also have replaced old lady brooch with your grandmothers brooch. You ard too montone & not excited about your work. Sorry.
Lucy Terrier I noticed the same thing. Offensive indeed and lacking passion about brooches. I was expecting more like a brooche tutorial. Do's and Don'ts, creative ideas, etc. I will look further.

Janette Lavender Well said even I am 40. Love your spirit!
Agreed. And I'm stll in my 30's
I am 64 and I agree with you totally!
Janette Lavender shut up boomer
i actually wear some of my studs/gem earrings as brooches, i think it's a fresh way to wear something i like in a completely different way 😃
Smarty pants!! You ladies are GOOD
You can wear brooches in your hair, secured with bobby pins. They are beautiful in updos.
Oooh good one!!!
You can even find converter pieces- they are like these little combs to put into your hair; and you can fix the brooch on it and voila! hair ornament. I've seen them on etsy, but surely you can get them elsewhere, too.
I use my broaches on scarves in the winter! Most of my coats are black so I need bit more interest in my outfits!
Love it!!!
Honestly, I was expecting an informative hands on video. Watching you sit there just talk made this so boring.
This was a complete waste of time. And boring, i did not learn anything from this
The most information is in the comments. You really are saying very little.
I agree boring stuck up woman

I have an oversized, long cardigan and I'll gather some of the fabric in the back and pin it to make the fit a little more streamlined.
They are beautiful
My tip would be to not throw so much shade on "old ladies." Aren't there any whom you love?
You can wear a brooch on a hat. I have a gold Chanel pin too, and wear it on my plain black beret in winter and on my gold straw hat in the summer.
Great ideas. I put a brooch on the cloth band of my straw hat. Get a lot of compliments.
Brooches are the most elegant accessory for me

I have been on the hunt for a stunning brooch. I have seen so money CC ones that love but I'm not ready to spend 300$ yet.

I wear brooches to adorn jean jackets and vests.
how can ppl not like brooches lol 'if you don't like Chanel get out of here' - high five to that! :)
Best thing is it makes your jacket look like it's Chanel
Useless. Slow
muy lindo tú video. by desde Costa Rica

Lucy Terrier I believe she was responding to the person who sent her a style question. I find the term "old lady" wrong.
We all get offended too easy. Yes she could have used other words but none of us are perfect. Lots of good ideas
Get over yourself
Damn you are the most Precious thing I ever seen
Meh.
