- Greetings All ! In this video I make a quilt for my very good friends Colin and Rachel and I also make one for their soon to be born baby !! We are all aviation enthusiasts here at Dave's Craftroom so the quilt is aviation themed ;-)
This is the link to the pinterest page where I found the inspo although, I could not find much information on it and the link leads me to a website that's in swedish :-/

What a great way to welcome new baby! Your videos are SO much fun to watch! Thanks!
Oh My Goodness, Dave, I Love the Way You Think❣️ You Are So Much Fun for Me to Watch and I Believe So Many People Enjoy Watching to See What You Have Created. 🥰 I hope you have a good week ahead. ❤ I cannot wait to see what you come up with for next week❣️ 🥰 👍 Chris
I love how you quilt. You ❤always make each fabric sing.
Wow, Dave, I think this is one of my favorites. Here’s a fun thing: I forgot that it was Tuesday and that means a Dave quilt. What a pleasant surprise to get home and discover this treat! So cool! So sorry about the Dave pincushion cup! But great quilt and great video! Thanks for the entertainment!
You’ve inspired me to be the quilt friend. Now all I need is friends 😂
You make everything look so easy! Love watching your vids.
Love the stained glass effect. Karen Nyberg would be so proud of all you have done with that fabric! Such a bummer the pin cushion broke. 😢
That's a really cool effect! I was sent over here by a commenter on one of my videos, I think because I used a similar logic of making "chunks" when combining orphan blocks of different sizes.
I would do this with a Google earth overview of the area around our airport.
This quilt is brilliant! My dad was a pilot for 36 years!
Another fantastic quilt! Thank you for doing videos of your projects. So fun!
😅I had not seen this fabric line until your cupola quilt video. I admired that quilt in the background of your subsequent videos and finally broke down and ordered a half yard of 29 of the 30 prints (FQ bundles not available anywhere😢). You did not exaggerate ! This fabric is gorgeous! I had planned to make the cupola quilt for a grandson but then realized he would never appreciate how stunningly gorgeous it is at his age. So I am enlarging to make for myself using all the prints ( I will acquire that last one!) and your design of all one print in each cupola. Thanks so much for the inspiration each and every week to create outside my comfort zone (I am usually drawn to Kaffe and Anna Maria Horner kinds of fabric).
Your friends and baby are lucky to have you as a friend & uncle! Your method of creating this stained glass effect is the best I’ve seen. Other versions are generally rotated blocks.
Thank you, and stay well!

Another great idea. The quilts are lovely. Thanks for sharing
To fix your mug try Kintsugi, we did it with my grandson's batman plate, it's the art of fixing with gold/gold paint to give it new life. I also love how you did the turn applique on the planes.
Checking your channel out after you were given a shout out from Brenda of Conquering Mount Scrapmore!
Love love your quilts! You are so creative.
What a treasure! Congratulations Colin and Rachel.
Best wishes for your new baby ❤❤❤ Beautiful quilts Dave- perfect gifts!
Another freaking amazing quilt, well, quilts! I WANT! I will be buying this gorgeous fabric - it is just perfect for this quilt. I don’t think I’ll do the appliqué, just the stained glass effect. So very beautiful. Wonderful that you treasure your friends by doing such amazing, creative handwork.
Very. Interesting project. I love the fabrics and learning your methods. Also, the personal twists you add to make them unique. 😊
When I fly, I’m always taking pictures out the window of the shapes on the ground, clouds and water (Gulf of Mexico…because I’m flying to FL). This is a really cool quilt!
Love your talking and your reason why you make your quilts- fun and inspiring! Love your ideas! Creative! Thanks, Dave- wanna see more! Sandi- Florida and Japan
Dave you really do like appliqué. I don’t but watching you have fun and the ability to changing basic quilts into amazing quilts means I must be more patient and enjoy that process. Thanks for sharing your technique
ur quilt has me soaring w/ joy-ur friends are so lucky
I always enjoy watching your videos
They are so great! ❤ both of them.
I love your planes! I really like the idea of silhouettes over a scenic background. Are you planning on participating in the 100days100blocks challenge this year? That is where i first saw your amazing talent last year! Thank you for sharing your quilts!
yes I surely am 😜👨🏻
As always you're inspirational. My husband is a huge dungeons and dragons player since it was invented as anyone can see from my youtube channel. How cool would dragon shadows over fields be for him? Beautiful quilt Dave!
Great idea! I agree that watching Dave's videos really gets me thinking of all the ways to make it personal in so many ways!!
Oooh now I want to make a quilt with all the planes I'm qualified on!
Wow this quilt is amazing!
Another great video. Thanks for sharing with us.
Beautiful and impressive idea. You are the best!
Good wishes for the new family ❤️
Best wishes to the new baby. Loved the quilts!
Everything you do is so inventive! I love it (it’s so great, it gives me a headache lol).
Fantastic quilt
Magnificent quilts! Congrats on a new babe in the fam & im really sorry about your pincushion.
😮 Wow that's awesome 💚
Your quilts are amazing
Beautiful! Don’t know how you do it ? Your amazing 🙏☘️
Love it! ❤
Great job!! Love the quilts !!
Love them!
That is fantastic!
I love the jazz in your videos. ❤❤. Do you ever do joint projects?
Dave...I love watching your videos...so much fun!! Do you ever have any problem with using glue with your appliques and the needle sticking or skipping stitches? Thanks for sharing and Bless you!
Is that a window behind you; or, is it a stained glass quilt? You can dry iron the packing paper to get the wrinkles out. Please buy yourself a new coffee mug to put the pin cushion in. These are beautiful quilts. No one is going to have one just like it when the baby takes a nap in preschool.
Very impressive ‼️... May I ask how you baste your quilt sandwich before quilting?
These are great quilts! I just noticed we use the same machine. Any tips for free motion quilting specific to 18:00 PQ1500? I’m still struggling with FMQ. Thanks.
Thanks again Dave sorry about your pin cushion
