Chris Fraikin, I got the gel coat filler from a chandlery, but the gel coat filler drys very hard so for bigger repairs marine filler would be much better, the yellow layer underneath is the boards construction, also these cracks where not very bad hense why i just drilled a few holes, if the cracks are bad then it requires a bit more work.
Hi Stephen, I’d like to repair and old windsurf board, I need only to make a new protective black rubber on the nose, could you recommend a material suitable for that? thanks
Great video thanks. Where do you get the Gelcoat filler? Is the yellow layer underneath the paint (as seen in the damage on your board) the gelcoat and everything white is paint? Also, what kind of paint do you use (for example a urethane paint? Thanks
couple of points, probably would have used some 80gsm cloth on those areas you used the gel coat filler in and why didn't you spray a gel coat finish on? looked like acrylic paint you were using where I would have used a polyester resin had I not gel coated...
Oops! It's polyester that melts styrene. Epoxy can be used on most things.

Injection would be the only way to get the resin into the voids

nice but the damage is too minor to really learn how to repair a broken nose I'm afraid..
Excuse me, but for me there was no point in filling with gel coat then removing it all by sanding... Looks like drying out ice.lol
