    I met Tommy in 2006. He bought a mattress and bed from the store I was working at. He was a very kind person, he had nothing bad to say about anyone. He knew I followed boxing, so he and his girlfriend sat and talked to me about boxing for 3-4 hours...about his victory over Foreman, heartbreaking losses to Mercer and Lewis...and how much he admired the other fighters of his era.
    He spoke openly about how he thought he was misdiagnosed with HIV because, he claimed, "there was no trace of the virus in any tests since the original diagnosis." Apparently he was wrong.
    Rest in peace Tommy.

      Because no one ever met Tommy right? He lived in a bubble isolated from the world.
      I also sold a bed to tyrell suggs, and Jennifer Walcott. I sold a bunk bed to Steve young, OK it was Steve's wife, when I delivered the bed Steve asked for my help building it. He was really down to earth and it turned out that his wife and my sister were once friends... But it's all made up right?
      Get a life you troll, go find a woman, make friends, meet famous people, stop being an insignificant douche on the internet.

      @@MysticGenius_ Wrong, that's always been a false accusation lead on by people who wanted to throw him (and his career) under the bus since '96. If you go onto his wikipedia page and read "Health" and "Death" sections you'll be informed about what caused his untimely death. Sad story.

      @@JayBoogieLive Wait, you don't think Aids didn't have anything to do with his death? Lol
      Come on, if he didn't have aids his body wouldn't have been so weak and been able to fight off things a a lot better.
      If I have aids and I did from a cold because my body couldn't fight off the virus did I really die from a cold or did aids pave the way for that cold to kill me?
      I love Tommy but facts are facts.

      One of the worst beatings I ever saw, Mercer was called Merciless for a reason. he didnt care if you were caught on the ropes or helpless, he would hit you as much as he could. Look up hios fight with Jeff Pegues. The guy was out and falling and Mercer stepped in and caught him while he was fall againt the ropes.

      True, Tommy was ahead on all three Scorecards 39-37 or 3 rounds to 1. Mercer was a tough Son of a bitch. Tommy ran out of gas beating on his hard head and Ray turned the tables. Ray was 41 years old before he lost by a KO.

    I met Tommy in a little town in Tennessee called Sparta, granted i had no clue who he was at the time! I worked for Airborne Express and had to do a pick up, so i walk into the garage and big guy walks out with no shirt and shorts and big muscles i was like damn dont see that very often in Tennessee lol so i got the envelope from him we just started talking he said he was an ex athlete and had some issues where he was living so he moved to Tennessee to get away from it all, I noticed a couple motorcycles and i ride so started talking about them, and he asked me if i knew anyone who worked on them cheap and said yes my father in law works on them and we exchanged phone numbers and i told him i would let him know if my father in law was interested in looking at it! So i got in my van and looked at the name on the envelope and called a buddy on the radio and he told me who i was just talking to and i was like OMG! He was a very nice and genuine person and thats what i know!

      What you said is wrong. That used to be the case like 15-30 years ago. Today its actually spreading at a faster rate among heterosexuals. But you are more likely to contract the virus from a guy rather than a girl and its also a bigger chance of contracting the virus from anal than vaginal sex. While Hiv is "some serious shit" you will still be able to live a full life with medications. Morrison stopped taking meds for some retarded reason. He was so deluded he was talked into believing HIv wasnt a real virus and that the meds was what made him sick and "hiv-positive" on the blood tests. RIP Morrison but you where living in denyal.

      Captain Ron, you can stfu. Did you know Tommy personally? No you didn't and by your statement of him getting old boxers to fight him, you obviously didn't watch boxing in the early to mid 90's. Tommy wasn''t dumb. Intelligence is measured in more than one way, He may not have been book smart, But his street/life smarts was genius. I grew up and went to school with his son Trey, who is now also a pro boxer with a (as time of writing) 11-0-0 all K.O.'s record

      +Alexander Whitton - Morrison had a punishing left hook (probably one of the best of all time), had fast hands and he was a tough son of a bitch but he certainly wasn't a technically gifted boxer. His defence was very leaky and you can see this from his face and speech - nose broken several times, jaw broken, speech slurred etc. Morrison was also too reliant on his left hook and that made him a little one dimensional as a fighter. Lennox Lewis completely neutralised that punch and carried Morrison for 6 rounds knocking him down 3 times.
      Morrison suffered some bad beatings by Lewis, Ray Mercer, & Michael Bentt and only beat Joe Hipp by the skin of his teeth by a KO. Hipp broke Morrison's jaw.
      Morrison could bang and was undoubtedly brave but he wasn't a top level champion and lost the lesser WBO belt in his first defence. If he'd have fought Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson, Tua, Ibeabuchi etc he'd have lost to all of them.

      @J. FILL You are an ignorant and judgmental person. How can you, Rhonda Gregory and Douglas Zimmermann (the two comment posters above you make that call from one interview? You do know that Tommy Morrison died just months after this interview was posted right? If he was acting abnormal it was because he was sick and dying from AIDS. Fuck I hate how impersonal and how quick people are to condemn someone they don't even know based on what they see on the internet. Please do some research before you pass sentence on a complete stranger.

    • @larsondarcy101
      @larsondarcy101 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @J. FILL Well he may have had addiction problems but were you following him around and hiding in the closets while he was he was supposedly sleeping with these men? How would you know this? Did you have exclusive access to his personal and sex life? Quit stating information that you couldn't possibly have and quit making wild assumptions and saying they are facts. You are a part of why the internet is so fucked up. Anyone who can insult another human being, who has died from a tragic and horrible disease, just because of some rumors they have read about online or watched in some random video has serious mental health problems. Go take a hard look in the mirror and do an intensive moral inventory or go get help.

    • @larsondarcy101
      @larsondarcy101 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @J. FILL Ok so what if the guy was gay? How would you know if he was practicing safe sex or not? Were you there too? So you believe someone was gay and because of that you judge and condemn him for something that you have no proof of? He's bi-sexual or whatever the case me be that is none of your business and for you to make incredibly horrible and serious statements against him with no proof and when has passed away and cannot defend himself. You need help. You do not know him as a person, you only know what you see or read online. Find a good psychiatrist and rethink how you treat other people lest you be judged and condemned yourself.

    So shocking to see him like this. What a raw deal.
    Stories like his are heartbreaking; someone on the cusp of greatness struck down in the prime of their life....... with so much yet to be and experience. Sure, he had 17 years after his diagnosis, but you can't think it was a quality 17 years.
    Life is fuckin' harsh.

      cindy Queen You know every medical test in the world has a 'result'. You either have something or you don't. Did you know that HIV tests don't have results? They have 'interpretations.' Yep. Your non-standardized HIV test is nothing more than an interpretation. AIDS doesn't exist in the way the media tells you - you can certainly get sick by doing drugs and banging people in their arseholes, which is abnormal and not as nature intended. But it's not HIV or AIDS.

    • @Vortex_one
      @Vortex_one 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mourning Pyre so if Aids doesn't exist in the way the media shows it how does it exist then? Not trying to be smart with you but I'm curious. I want to know what you mean?

    • @cindyqueen7228

      james bond He's talking out of his ass.

    • @mourningpyre
      @mourningpyre 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      james bond It doesn't exist. What kills "AIDs patients" is not "HIV." But having no immune system due to living a very promiscuous and drug-filled lifestyle. They called it the "Gay disease" for reason - because only gays got it. (Due to their hundreds of sexual partners jackhammering their assholes and taking drugs at the same time.)
      Furthermore, do you know of any other test in the medical world where - when you take it - you get an "interpretation" instead of a result?
      There is no standardized test for HIV.
      There are no specific signs of HIV.
      There are no sure ways to get HIV.
      Even if you get HIV, it doesn't mean you have AIDS or will get it. (Magic Johnson - did he take chemo? No. Was he gay? Probably not. What changed? HIS LIFESTYLE.)
      If you go to the doctor and get a Tuberculosis test, do you want his "interpretation" or do you want a RESULT? HIV tests will give you an "interpretation" not a result. (Because this monster HIV/AIDS is bullshit.)
      Don't want HIV/AIDS? Don't have hundreds of anal sex partners and do massive amounts of drugs. Don't live a promiscuous lifestyle and you'll be fine. Pretty simple.

    Ok im not going to win any friends but consider this.
    Tommy knew he had hiv about the same time he went pro.
    So he knew that he could very much pass his deadly disease on to every opponent, every sparring partner, every cut man and being a self confessd womaniser, hundreds of woman, and did it anyway.
    let that sink in.
    He knew the whole time!

      That’s the thing; I do feel sorry for him because he caught it back in 1989 and he was only 20 years old, he must’ve been very scared but he kept boxing until 1996, he could’ve passed it to hordes of women and countless opponents.
