    Great toilet cabinet! Thank's for the inspiration! As for the Cuddy toilet, we are considering it over other models on the market. We have been trying to get actual owners' appreciation of the Cuddy, other than the comments on the company's website, but so far, no luck! Can you share your experience with the Cuddy? Merci!!

    Its a great job and beautifully made. Probably the best tutorial ive seen on this subject and ive watched quite a few doing my van build. I was shocked by how much space was being lost in the configuration of the drawers both inside the drawer and underneath. As they can only have so much in them to not catch on the front supports the effective drawer depth must have been significantly reduced. I suppose it depends on how tight for space your van build is. As mine is a Transit custom SWB i couldn't waste an inch. Nice video though.

    Just a heads up on the LED strips, those type of snap or pinch connectors are only recommended for applications that are stationary, I believe it’s even the manufacture recommendation to solder the wire connections. The connectors you used are not meant to be jostled or moved about. It finally made me learn to solder wires once I read the instructions from the light manufacturer. Just fyi. Appreciate all your hard work and quality content.

    • @EXPLORISTlife

      Nope. When driving, push-to-lock drawers have a tendancy to 'push in' while turning corners and then open while driving.

    what is the finished height of your cabinet? I am trying to figure out which window and cabinet to use at the front driver side location. A lot of people are using the CRL t-vent window, but the cabinet counter must be held way back from the window to operate the vents. It looks like you have the Arctic Tern window married with this cabinet (of unknow height) and they work together fine. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that I am planning on have the wall in the window wall recessed into the existing metal framing opening . to provide a bigger countertop.

    Hi Nate, thanks for the video. For the life of me, I can’t figure out how the bottom of the toilet drawer can hold your weight when it is only glued in to the sides of the drawer…. Did you also screw it in to the side somehow as well? How did you make sure that the bottom won’t just fall off? Thanks again!

    Is that the Columbia forest products birch plywood that can be found at the local big box store? I think that’s what I am going to use because of the cost and scarcity of real Baltic birch right now.

    • @EXPLORISTlife
      @EXPLORISTlife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's birch ply, but not baltic birch since it's nearly impossible to get where we live. We don't have a big box store closer then 2hrs from us, so I can't speak to if it's the same brand. It was whatever birch ply the local lumber yard had. Was pretty poor quality wood for how much it cost, tbh, and we had to glue a few plys together in a few spots after we cut them.

    I’ve been eying that composting toilet recently for an addition to our caravan. It will be either that or completely diy. Nice cabinet build but wondered if the weight of the toilet (and person when on it) is being supported by just the glued bottom and finishing nails?

    I have a toilet in my Sprinter Van. But only for emergencies or female guests. I use big size bike water bottles to pie. I have 4. Easy to empty at any public toilet. The number two I always do at McDonald, Starbucks etc. I really started hating carrying a 15 kilo toilet to empty it somewhere. And these places are a lot less easy to find in Europe then the US

    You will probably find that you want a quicker way to remove the entire toilets unit for cleaning. We have this toilet and the simple act of turning the agitator, even slowly, will throw stuff around the inside of the unit.(Look at PatchWorxs TH-cam review) Also, liquids will sometimes find its way into the bottom of the unit no matter how careful you are, so make sure those screw holes don't leak.

    I did my toilet design like this and I did not work at all. You have no room for you legs to spread. Your right leg will be sitting on the drawer face, and the left leg will hit the cabinet face.

    • @greglonnon
      @greglonnon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I built it just like this too, and it does not work. The side of the toilet crowds the legs together and with a natures head toilet, it's too tall. In the process of rebuilding our toilet to be a "seat" with footrests for "better performance".

      I hope you found a solution that works for you. We are pretty happy with how ours turned out and functions. It's similar to our old sprinter that we lived in for nearly 4 years, so we've got some past experience on our side too.
