Is this intended to merge the functionality from AutoRemote in the long term? I use AR extensively since about 15 years and it's brilliant! Also, how does it find what devices you can use? Is it only devices in your account or can it work cross accounts e.g. my use cases for all my family members. Either way, this looks like one of the best new features for me - can't wait, thank you! 🤤
It's not intended to replace AutoRemote, but you can do some similar stuff. This is much more deeply integrated into Tasker. :) It finds devices by keeping a device list on your Google Drive. You can work with devices from different accounts though, no problem! :) Thanks! Glad you like it! :)

Hello Joao, Can you explain further how the connection is made between the devices? How do you set up the device names? And I'm most of all interested in whether the web connection is secure, and no man-in-the-middle or fake server attacks can be performed on it.
Check out the Full Setup Instructions he linked in the video description. This uses Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging service, and will only work after you've provided Tasker with your own personal FCM token. So security shouldn't be an issue as long as you take proper care in securing your FCM secrets.
The only server this goes through is Google's FCM servers. As mentioned by @benjaminallred5395 check out the setup instructions. Everything is explained there.
Nerd question, what would be more efficient battery wise: - having different profiles for an event that might be triggered by different sources (app, bt device, etc) - or having one profile and discriminate the source inside it
Super nice idea....but no option for people like me that dont want to use Google Drive or any other Google service. I would love to see something like an open source server-side for this kind of "command&control server", that I can run by myself.

I have one or two tasks/profile with it, but I just copied them from Google without clearly understanding what is going on. Thanks anyways for the update ❤
I hope you can help i use xbox cloud gaming to afk in fortnite i have to click on my screen every 5 to 10 min to be active and i have to move my joystick and click other button to not be inactive but how can i do that automatically? I can't use auto clicker because i have android 6.0 do you knoe any solution plz helpe me

Is it possible to message via Whatsapp or Signal from the other device? I often use the tablet when i want to share a link or i pic and WhatsApp or signal messenger is and can only be installed on one device aka the phone.

Do the remote actions work when the remote device is locked? That's limited me a lot in the past with other functionality

Nope, at the moment it doesn't work via bluetooth, sorry!
Maybe you can try creating a task that will enable your hotspot, wait for device to connect and then push the action you want...

Google Drive is not actually mandatory for this, only Google Firebase Cloud Messaging :)
What about security? Is there a authentication that is needed once setting it up and then some sort of encryption used

you can use whatsapp on tablet and it will ssend using phone, signal you cant yet
