Time travel or reincarnation are concepts that belong more in the world of science fiction, philosophy or religious beliefs. However, after seeing photos of few celebrities compared to people from the past, one may start to question whether this is a pure coincidence or perhaps something else is at play. I've told my friends and family for years about this theory that I have regarding this: There is only so many combinations of the shape of eye's, nose and lips that can actually exist on the human face before that numerical combination repeats itself. Although decades, centuries or a milenium may come and go, these shapes can only differ in size so much before it repeats itself on the human face.

I had an old man chase me down, his face covered in tears because I looked so much like his wife that died several decades ago when their house caught fire. He invited me to his family dinner because he wanted his kids and grandkids to see what she looked like. I bet we hugged thirty times. It was a strange day but he was so nice that i couldn't say no.

When I was a student nurse I went onto a new ward, and a couple of other nurses said "have you worked on here before". I replied no. Weeks later I had to go to a different ward, and saw a nurse, and straight away I knew who they had meant. This nurse was just like me in looks, a little plumper, similar height, hair colour, everything. It was a bit weird.
Many of them are spot on, but there’s a couple that are not even close. Nice video.

I saw my doppelgänger on the subway in NYC decades ago. We looked at each other for a moment, nothing was said. A man a few feet away kept looking at since the resemblance was uncanny. When she got up to exit the train, I realized she was about 4” taller than I, but the face was identical.
I'm 63 and English. In my youth I had the good fortune for people to tell me I looked like various famous people - in my 20's I was told I resembled Princess Diana and used to get stopped everywhere, with strangers and colleagues telling me I was the image of Linda Gray, then in my 30's, people said I looked like Debbie Harry and Marilyn Monroe, and in my 30's and 40's, like a young Goldie Hawn!! No one says anything any more, because I'll health has aged me!! I was very lucky to be compared to attractive women in my day!!! The only 2 I thought I was like, was Diana and most of all, Linda Gray. Friends, family and colleagues all called me 'Sue-Ellen"!!!
My sister did the Ancestry DNA things a few years ago. I didn’t look like I belonged to my family and always said so. The ancestry site found a fourth cousin on my father’s side. He sent her some photos. There’s a photo of a family, with my Dad’s grandmother as a toddler. Behind her stands her mother. You’d swear it was me! Sis calked me as soon as she got the photo. Said it gave her goosebumps. I resemble my great, great, great grandmother like a clone! Might not have the right number of greats there. It’s after midnight here and I’m tired and my brain hurts!

According to Hindu ancient scriptures, it could be that you have taken re-birth in the same family because of your strong attachments for the family at the time of death.
As it's said that if we strongly desire for something at the time of death, nature allows us for it in the next birth.
But that next birth doesn't have to be in the same year or next year, could me many years according to many other karmas' involved. :)

I took a caricature class at art school. The prof said that we have 7 main "markers": eyes, nose, mouth, face shape, ears, hair style and attitude. If, as caricature artists, we could capture 3 out of the 7, then our drawing would resemble the subject. I see this here. Not everything matches, but sometimes enough to be startling. On some of these it would be closer if the compliers would have found a recent photo more in the same position or action of the older photo. Like if Matt Damon had a full open mouth smile, etc.
They basically give the same directions to the sculptors of Funko Pops. Being able to turn a fairly featureless plastic figure with an oversized head into something instantly recognizable to the human eye is very interesting. They don't always nail it, but more often than not you can tell whom a Funko sculpt is supposed to be. In a way, they are physical 3-D caricatures.
Hairstyle is way too superficial to matter
It is possible that many of them are distantly related to those in the older photos. My grandmother strikes a likeness to George Washington, and we are distantly related. And, my father is almost the spitting image of his 8x great-grand uncle; a former college president. It is amazing how we can look so much like our ancestors or distant cousins.
I’ve been told I look exactly like the Grand Dutchess Anastacia. When I first saw her picture I was shocked because it was like looking in a mirror. Even my fiancé thinks I look just like her. It’s so weird! Unfortunately I don’t know my family lineage but I would not be surprised if I were distantly related.
I often wonder that, too. There is an old Victorian photo circulating on Pinterest, etc. People use it in junk journals etc. Creepy thing... first time I saw it, I LITERALLY thought my niece had simply used a photo of herself and photoshopped it to look antique early 19th century Victorian era in France. The child’s mother even looked like MY mother.
Nope... just 2 doppelgängers from the past that look like my mothers side of the family.
After some research, it turns out my mothers side indeed lived in France during the Victorian era. Still, that’s all I was able to find out.

When I was 14, I was just hanging out with my friends at a park near my house and all of a sudden this random girl on a scooter came riding by with her friends and sat down near where we were sitting. It was like slow motion. Time and my heart felt like it stopped. She looked exaclty like me… like I felt like I was seeing myself outside of my own body. Our faces looked almost identical along with our hair and skin as well. She was even wearing a long sleeved neon blueish green shirt like I was!!!! I looked at my friends and I was like “ummm…do you guys see her too?” and they were already staring at her in shock. And then one of my friends was like Casey I think we just found your doppelgänger. And I was like wtf is that lol.
And then I became jealous of her because my best guy friend walked up to her and started flirting and so I told everyone I wanted to go home 😂
Now I’m 23. Haven’t ever seen her since then. But I can still remember that encounter so clearly.

I saw a British show where they got together doppelgangers who met through the internet. These people were from different countries, but when they did a deep dive on their ancestry, most had ancestors from the same region of the world, or were distant relatives.

Hi, Samantha. I've had a similar "find" among my distant ancestors, too. When she was a teenager, my youngest sister's daughter looked just like our 11th cousin, twice removed; Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom, in her teenage years.

I have actually had the experience of meeting the doppelgängers of several of my friends. They were SUCH look-a-likes that I didn’t know they were a different person until I actually spoke to them. It’s pretty wild

That's pretty cool. I've been told, by more than one person whom I know and trust, that there's a lady living in my town who looks exactly like me. I have yet to meet the woman, but I've met people who know her and, at first, they mistook me for her.

It's genetics, now if you can't tell the difference (there is a difference especially if they are not related) then you must not look at your friends that much or might not be that close, or unfortunately something else might be going on.

All Acondroplasic dwaves share certain physical traits ( large head, overhanging brow, snub nose etc) so it's not suprising that they look somewhat alike.

I met a guy once who looked exactly like me. We just kind of sat there staring at each other. It was quite amazing.
What these images make me feel above everything else, is, that throughout the centuries people have always been exactly like us. Seeing them only in paintings or in black and white might make them look as if they were completely different but in reality, they have always been exactly like us - they looked like us, they felt like us, they acted like us. And that is at the same time interesting and comforting, but also extremely scary when you think about everything humans did throughout history.

The one that blew me away was Jack Black and Paul Revere. Long time ago my doppelgänger lived only 175 miles from me in Colorado. We looked a acted so much alike that people who knew her called me by her name. Freaked them out. I should have gone and met her.

I agree with you, Kay. I did once hear Cage make a comment about the man in that photo on a talk show, and he said it looked like a "slowed down version" of him, I believe. I don't recall the exact words used, but the word "slow" was mentioned. It seemed a little mean but then again he was probably sick of the comparison which he must have heard or read about for years.

My dad is an exact doppelganger of my 2x great-grandfather. My grandad had a younger half-brother that was nearly identical to the point us grandkids would often confuse the two.
In some of these cases I see a strong similarity and in some cases I don't. But I wouldn't read anything mystical into it: It probably is just a matter of similar DNA.

There was once a hilarious short book series called, Separated at Birth. It contained famous identical people in history who weren't related. Basically, they were doubles. In fact, there were even a few triples thrown in for good measure.
I think when people like people from past it could combination of they could be related or reincarnation of them in another life. Also sometimes it’s a coincidence because, sometimes you just look like people you have no relations to, and sometimes it makes you wonder are you related. Thanks to advancement in science we haven’t learned that is the small DNA traits we share with others that we are normally have no relations to that can explain why, people can look twin like to people from different time periods.

Every since I was a child old photos have held a special curiosity for me. I feel drawn to them like I'm looking for someone or something from the past especially ones from the 19th century. These pictures are so eerie yet prove that my search may not be in vain.

I have had people mistake me for someone else more than once or twice. I have a twin in my city that looks exactly like me but doesn't sound like me. Sometimes it's refreshing and other times just aggravating. One thing for sure is we all have a twin somewhere.

I'm just fascinated by this. The one that really blew me away is Matthew McConaughey! In his movie "Titanic" James Cameron went to great lengths to cast actors who looked like real life passengers. It's just simply eerie! I have a friend who, when he was younger, looks identical to J Bruce Ismay.
The only thing missing? The older photos slowly, majestically deepening into color, the eyes moving and then the smile to acknowledge the resemblance 😀

Wonderful piece - thanks so much for posting. I'm glad to see someone likes photo comparisons as much as I do. Ever since I learned about my grandmother's lost background, I love to post photo comparisons of family members to the historical figures I find in our family tree. Every time I see a family resemblance, I feel like I've hit the jackpot!! I would like to bet that in at least some of your comparisons, the individuals are actually distant relatives. That happened with my mom. As a young girl, she looked much like the film star Jeanne Crain. I found out a few years ago that Jeanne was actually my mom's 6th cousin. I only wish we had known that when my mom was alive. Thanks again for all your work.
There is only so many facial combination's in the whole world, my mum ran into her twin downtown Vancouver, B.C.!

I saw a picture of someone on a SoMe platform - I was confused as I couldn't remember taking that photo. She was my doppelgänger. I said hello and she could see it too. Same facial shape, red hair and glasses. Only thing different was our height - I was slightly taller. It was uncanny!

Here where I live in South America when the colonizers arrived, I already had a well-developed civilization.
@@darcidc4116 obviously. You need to read on history. I’m not on about 1700, when the British, Spanish and Dutch colonised, obviously way before that there were Aztecs etc. Way way before that. Obviously people were in South America for about 8,000 years BC, way before that Humans were around about 2.4 million to 1.6 million years. They moved from Africa about 1.6 million years and spread around the world.

Wow, if I were to see a picture of Paul Revere, I would have said that was jack black when he played in the movie Gulliver's travels... I truly scratch my head at things like this.. I do believe in reincarnation, and I think videos like this help that belief alot.
You never know. To me, I think there's also a possibility that some of these celebs are distantly related to these look-a-likes. I've also heard everyone has at least seven people in the world who look just like themselves because there's only so many different faces that can exist or that's what science says.
Humans only have a limited number of genes that can be arranged in a limited number of ways. It makes sense that the same faces pop up again and again. Nothing to do with reincarnation.

I like to allow myself the open minded perception of many things to humor the “unbelievable” that most will never give vindication to because it simply exceeds what the “human mind” is willing to accept as “answers”. I’m not saying that I believe these instances are reincarnation, but I definitely enjoy seeing how many strings can be connected between the two. How many times do “the dots connect” so to speak, if you break them both down in all the facts you can find. I’m not sure what exactly I’d say I “believe in”, but I would say that my mind is vastly open to all possibilities. & I certainly believe that reincarnation, is possible. Although I’m not sure how possible it would be to “live again” with the same face as before.(Perhaps if you were someone important. Hmm.. funny these faces are celebrities then, & now.) These make for interesting conversations when you can find another human willing to humor these ideas with you.

I've been mistaken for someone else at a church I used to attend 😂 and a couple I met in Mexico told me I looked like someone they knew. 😆 Also when I was around 9 or 10 I looked very much like my maternal grandmother when she was at that age.
