@@yanglllchina Sorry, I think you need to read more history, particularly on Hokkien identity. We Southern Chinese call ourselves T'ng Lang, which means people of the Tang. Unlike you, we still preserve our heritage tongue of Hokkien language. I don't know what poor education you are exposed too, but I suggest you learn the origin of Minnan identity, the origin of Minyue people and the Indigenous people of Minnan/Ban Lam and the sinicization of Minnan during 300-600AD. If you think that just because you're Chinese that you think that you can own our culture, think again. We speak different language and we have different culture. I am so sad that you do not have an ethnic identity and indigenous language. I am so sorry that you have no culture at all, but instead have to make do with generic CCP culture. Please do NOT come to South East Asia and speak mandarin. If you are in our land, speak our language! Perhaps you need to study more on your Confucius value about humility and respect.
@@bernardlokman5442 Although I can feel how you feel, Chinese people learning Mandarin is a must, Mandarin is called " Guan Hua" meaning " Official dialect or the dialect that Chinese Emperor can understand". That's why Mandarin has been changing according to location of the capital of the Chinese empire, but which doesn't mean we should abandon our dialect, for example I speak Yunnanese dialect at home. Before the Tang empire's capital was located in the middle heartland of China, that's why the local dialect had become the "Mandarin" which was similar to today's Hakka or Cantonese. So since ancient times, Cultured Chinese men who wanted to work in the government must learn to speak the local dialect of the Chinese emperor, Mandarin or official language to be able to communicate with the emperor. Today since the Chinese capital is located in Beijing, the cultured men or women must learn Mandarin, the Beijing dialect. But which doesn't mean we need to abandon our culture or dialect.
The Peranakan have their own language which is different from Malay language. The older generation might speak a mixture of dialects and their own Peranakan language and the younger generation are more comfortable speaking English at home. Most do not understand Mandarin and many do not follow the Chinese festival and practice
@Wei Qi agreed. They followed Chinese festivals as it was passed down from their parents but they have their own way of doing it. True Peranakan do not speak Mandarin and the TV series being in Mandarin was already wrong as it lost the rich “flavours” of how the Nyonyas and Baba speak in their daily life. Being shown in a Chinese TV series, even the 2008 local version, it really did not do justice to the Peranakan culture.
Mandarin was only introduced in 1900s by pro-kuomintang sympathizers. They build Tiong Hoa Hwe Kwan. Back then people still stick to their own tribe. Hokkiens with Hokkiens, Cantonese with Cantonese. The idea of 'Chinese people' as one Han race was not a thing. People need to study Southern Chinese history more and have respect of our culture. If they don't want to learn and respect our language, that is an older variant of Old Chinese, then they better stay in China!
Sandra Lim 你没交代有关你被称为娘惹家族的後代, 请问你是什么土著的第五代.?
谢谢普及~了解了~
Even as a Singaporean, I find the Nyonya Baba culture and traditions, both unique and interesting.
马航的制服不是娘若装那个叫kebaya。是一种马来传统服装和娘若装是不一样的。😊😊
不是娶马来人哦……是娶了当时的马来亚的土著。土著和马来人是有区别的。宗教上,马来人信奉回教,而土著不是回教徒。 任何与回教徒通婚的人都需要改信回教,甚至连名字也必须改了。但是,娘惹峇峇是随华人姓的,拜的是华人的祖先。
Yi Wen Lim

Go check out the Peranakan Museum after circuit breaker is finally over. very interesting.
Singapore and Malaysia.
背景音乐太大声了。
藤椅。。。??
新版的好像在演宫廷剧
追俩频道,都被删视频了,看个剧费劲死。
藤条。。。??
那时候叫马来亚而非马来西亚
It's baba nyonya not nyonya baba
