Had to unplug my battery and plug it back in to get my MHD licenses to show properly. Still have the VIN mismatch. I wanna start tuning the car but don't know if the BIN I send is going to be the correct one.

This is the nightmare I’m living in right now I upgraded then it didn’t pass smog because vin was wrong as well as modules seemed to be turned off. My car got state reffed because of this 🤦🏻♂️ so I found another guy that was able to fix these issues he coded the car now vin and modules are working. I took it to the state smog and they said it still won’t pass because the car isn’t throwing “certain numbers” but they won’t tell me what. 🙁 they told me it seems like the car has a “wrong software “ any help??
So I can get ahold a msd81 from a donor car plug it into my car flash it back to stock with MHD it will re write as if it's my original dme? no programming needed no clone my msd80 info on a msd81 ?
@@coleb.5120 I never tried it myself, bensbimmer service had a cloning service half off for the end of the year, if that’s still going on I’d def recommend going with that

MHD looks at the CAS and DME for the vin, if one of them has the right vin the license would work. If you move the DME over and align it with the new CAS it would probably overwrite the VIN and not work. I'd reach out to MHD and have the update the VIN associated to your license if possible.
This does, and doesn't work, you still get dme/cas sync issues if you get a donor msd81 dme that's off another car. Still working through this one lmao
@@speedbracer1234 i had to send my dme, cas, and key off to get the cas synced with the dme. Theres not really any way around it if youre getting the cas sync code reported by ista. After i got it back everything worked though aside from the rest of the car having older software than the newest flash files that the tuner put on the dme and cas. But i have the ability to update that kinda stuff..
So by just purchasing a donor msd81 to replace you're stock msd80.. MHD will let you flash your msd80 backup software too you're msd81 with vin.. just by restoring you're back up flash (stock map) ?
Hi! I’m doing a engine swap 2007bmw wagon 328i auto to 2007 bmw 335i manual, I going to transfer the dme ,cas and instruments cluster but I’m little worried for emission because will sow the vin # of the donor car , please can you help me with Advice. Thanks !!
The sensor could be bad. The older style sensor on the low pressure fuel rail on the bottom of the motor is notorious for failing. It should fluctuate slightly but be around 72 psi pre HPFP. The old one is easy to identify because it's brass. the upgraded one is silver.
@@VehicularDIY I do as the car currently has no paddles but the engine and CAS were from one that did. And I think it's why my sport mode isn't working, the shifter will go into manual once pushing up or down for +/- then after a number of seconds reverts back to D mode I've checked the wiring for the shifter and see no issues there. Also have swapped shifter out for another same issue. I assume is due to the CAS being from the e82 that had paddles?

If you get an MSD81 you still need to get the ISN associated, I have another video on my channel going into that. But now you can flash back to stock and have your actual vin show when it's time for an emissions test.
I have an 09 335i lci and my Msd81 DME got wet🤦🏽♂️ transistors burnt out and shorted my FRM Module, waterpump, and Auxiliary fan. Everything is now fixed and replaced just waiting on the fan to come in. 🤯

I changed and ecu and after installing replacement ecu I have a lot of codes Cd9d Cd9e and a few other ones and it has put my car into limp mode won’t allow me to make over 5 psi and help to look for a fix in this ?

It does not, that you have to get done separately.
Why did you still change to MSD81 after doing your mosfets? What are the benefits? Just changed mine on my MSD80...
Just to avoid this potentially happening again given the MSD81 has a better power supply built in.

For the E90 a K + D CAN cable and INPA.
Would you happen to know how one would code out the paddles for gear shifts on a e82?

It would still register as an MSD80 via software but any 2009 or 2010 would have MSD81 from what I've seen.
Would the only way to check be physically removing it?

Oh man that sucks, glad to hear you're getting it sorted. Maybe the lid on the DME box wasn't fully seated?
