Born and brought up in Bangalore Mr Ravi S IPS is from the 11984-1986 Batch of PUC Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology (PCMB) of Christ College. He is a 1998 Batch of Karnataka Cadre IPS Officer. Among his key assignments have been a Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Bangalore, Principal, Police Training Academy Gulbarga, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bangalore, Commissioner of Policy Belagavi City, Additional Commission of Police (Crime) Bangalore City, Inspector General of Policy Easter Range, Davangere. Currently he the Home Secretary-2 Government of Karnataka. His hobbies are long distance running, pistol shooting, photography, movies and cricket
