It's almost scary how vividly and morbidly the games portray anomalies showing that there really not in our control at all, rather we should head them because they're much more dangerous than us.

Maybe the Zone wasnt contained to guard the world from anomalies or mutants, maybe it's just to lure in people like him, just to make the world this tiny bit better... to get rid of the likes of his... After all the worst monster he encountered here wasn't some monstrosity twisted by anomalous radiation or any other sort of abomination, but himself, and his loneliness reminded him of it every step he took on his way back to the 100 Rads, where his reward and lukewarm vodka awaited him.
I'm glad this was recomended to me...S.t.a.l.k.e.r has something that only a handful of games have. Once you get immersed it's not game anymore, it becomes part of you, it feeds your soul because that's what art does

He spent a decade of his life in the Zone. He was there from the beginning, having left everything to pursue the Zone's call... Now, he returns to the world outside... His brother is dead, his wife is with another man, his son peddles drugs to feed his addiction, his daughter is everyone's favourite at the local brothel. No money left, no friends to speak of; all his comrades have been lost to the Zone, some by his own hand. And he hears the call again...
I discovered the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games at a low point of my life. I was just so tired at life back then. I just despised how mundane life was and my depression didn't help either. But when I found the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games it was like love at first sight. I don't know if it's the world, the characters, the enemies, the story or something else but I fell in love with the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and it just inspired me to keep going. If any stalkers are reading this. Please remember that you are loved and that darkness isn't forever. Good hunting, stalker.

This image really reminds me of the ending of I Saw the Devil. A Stalker has conquered the zone and earned his right to leave, yet the zone acompanies him forever.
A stalker came back, all pale hands shaking and all... Started confessing his sins and shit. Anyhow, him an a buddy were running away from some poltergeists when they bumped into a group of hamsters. So this guy decides that it's every man for himself, unloads into his buddy and runs off. The hamsters obviously don't bother to chase him 'cause they already got fresh meat to feast on, but when our little hero got away he started thinking about what he'd done... After a second bottle at Borov's you could hear him wailing about how his buddy'd given him his last medkit and all that... Well, anyway, the guy hung himself that night... That's what happens to people in the Zone.
SoC was great with these little stories that you could read on PDA or hear from stalkers. They were not related to plot in any way, or at least not in any significant way, but they added so much to immersion.
The lone stalker's feet finally rested upon the pile of smoldering brass casings, the air was reek of gunpowder, iron, and lead. On the ground, laid the lifeless bodies of a few men, hands still clutching their weapons. The stalker let out a heavy sigh, and his sunken eyes collapsed onto the disturbed ground. Quickly, he realized a coarse breathing sound rings out somewhere around his vicinity, behind the thick radiated fauna of the Zone. Could be a bloodsucker. With a great sense of alert, the stalker quickly readied his TOZ, while trying to locate the direction of the sound. He took a few steps back towards a nearby tree, his eyebrows squinted and drenched in hard sweat, dashing and scanning the area surrounding him. It's coming from that bush over there. The stalker closed his eyes, got himself together, and in a moment of determination, shouldered his weapon while slowly approaching the bush where the sounds were coming from. The breathing got louder and louder as he closes his distance, the ground and the leaves were covered in thick blood. He was ready. With a quick sweep of the hand, the stalker pushed away from the foliage, revealing another body lying underneath. It was a Duty soldier. His body was mangled, his vest torn and riddled with holes, and the ground was soaked in his blood. Through the gasmask, the stalker could see the Dutier's eyes staring at him, glistened with tears. The dying man tried to reach out, but he could barely move his fingers and let out some inaudible creaks from his mouth. The stalker sat down, and held the soldier's hand, as a final reassurance. He'd had enough. The Zone gives little, and it takes more. And it was about to take one more time. The stalker stood up beside the dying Duty soldier, his pistol locked and loaded, barrel pointing straight at the man on the ground. The Dutier slowly closes his eyes, finalizing his acceptance while the stalker could not bear himself to look and turned his head away towards the setting sun glazing the landscape. The crows' feast was disturbed by the sound of gunshot ringing out, as they quickly departed into the clouds.
Once you go into the zone it... changes you, you become a part of the zone. But eventually you get used to it. You learn the ins and outs, know where the best safe-zones are and so forth. A normal man spending a night in the zone would go insane, but only the insane can survive, Покойтесь с миром, братья.
S.t.a.l.k.e.r is not a game to me. It’s a gateway into another world. It’s an experience. I can directly influence it or be influenced from it. I can move along with it or fall behind. It’s more than a game or art piece to me.
It is also an allegory of our society. No one escapes the Zone, aka the crumbling wild capitalist reality destroying our planet. The stalkers are the wage slaves of the government plutocrats who control the Zone, luring the stalkers to fight and kill each other for the crumbs, the nearly worthless artifacts and objects they risk their lives to acquire, forsaking everything they used to believe in during the process, abandoning their humanity for the obsession of greed and short term gains. All this on the ruins of Chernobyl, one of the main event that led to the fall of the Soviet Union, the socialist ideal for a fairer society that works for everyone that was stolen from the people and hijacked by dictators and tyrants who built a system that made this calamity possible. It is a very powerful story indeed.

@@hazode i saw different stories about this stalker for some reason other one i read was about red betraying his friends when they reach the wish granter and they punish him by burying him alive to the sarcophagus and after a while he cames back to life and becomes some kinda of a ghost ?
@@solowingpixy9367 the Red I'm referencing is Redrick Schuhart, one of the protagonists of the novel Roadside Picnic by Boris & Arkady Strugatsky. The games are loosely based on the book, but in the book there is no sarcophagus; it's not even set in and around Chernobyl, or even the Ukraine/USSR. In the book "the zone" was made by alien visitors, and there's more than one.
I was doing an Ironman run on Anomaly when I had a run in with Monolith and freedom at the Barrier I helped the freedom soldiers fight off the monolith and after the battle I met and eventually befriended a Stalker by the name of Misha Chrikov. I ran a lot of jobs for him and with him. And I formed a genuine connection with this NPC. Later down the road I found myself at the army warehouse sorting some business with the hippies as usual when I heard a particularly close gunfight erupt. Out of curiosity I checked it out once again it was the damned monolith, at the barrier again. There was a lot of them. The battle was rough and both sides sustained plenty of casualties ultimately ending in freedom repealing the attack. After everything had settled I began to search the dead for patches, roubles and other valuables. As I was searching I realized I picked up a familiar gun, it was an AN-94 with a Kashtan scope and a Gp 25, I looked at the Stalker I was looting and realized it was my friend, it was Misha, I legit began to sob as I realized he’s dead and gone for good. I had only realized he was in an isolated pocket of other bodies with him and 6 other monolith troopers surrounding him dead. He went down fighting. A somewhat cinematic and beautiful ending that you never would have thought was possible in a mod for Stalker call of Pripyat, Thank you for reading my comment all the way through and let my boy Misha Rest In Peace
I had similar feelings in 1 life ironman playthrough. I died countless times trying to protect my fellow bandits. Its a rough life but I guess its better than being target practice for the Mercs. Sultan counted on us to cleanse the dark valley of the military presence. It was a suicide mission from the start. I was with 3 other bandits. They looked quiet experienced. We couldn't show that we were affraid, Sultan was counting on us. We were approaching the military but we were caught by gunfire from both sides, left and right. There was a trench there and I sat there. Seeing tracers flying and grenades exploding. I killed 1, and another grenade landed right next to me. I bandaged myself up. Realising I was the only one left, patching myself while my companions were dead around me. I was suppresed and couldn't even run to cover. I stood there, 1 mag left, no grenades and just my pistol. It was futile. I got killed too. Our bodies will forever rot in the soil of the zone. Along with my friends which I dissapointed.
One day I was walking through garbage when I saw a body face down in the grass. When I turned him over to search his pockets he spoke in a broken voice. Help me Startled and surprised I pulled my pistol, but this wasnt a zombie. This was a man! He was wounded. Badly. He need my help. So I picked him up and carried him to the closest place I could think of. I took him to The Butcher. The Buctcher said he never seen anyone survive wounds like that. We made the wounded man some stew and shared our ciggarettes and vodka with him. We were convinced he wouldnt make it through the night. The next morning the man was still breathing and over the next few days began to recover. He remembered his name was Filya and he said he hadnt been in the zone long. He said he couldnt remember anything after leaving on patrol with some colleagues and they had been ambushed. In the confusion there was an explosion and Filya memory went black after that. He didnt even know what day it was. For the next week Filya and I were inseperable. A few days ago Filya and I were sandwiched between bandits and military soldiers. It was a hard fight. Filya took a round to the chest. It didnt look good. With no help or medical supplies I carried him to the medical tent in Rostok. When we arrived there and I set him down, he was dead. In his backpack he had a mutant activity report that had been signed and completed the month before. I knew there was only one man that could make use of Filyas work. Doctor Sakhova in Yantar. You will be remembered Filya, for you were a good stalker. I still carry your patches with me.
theres hours and hours of imaginations in my head that came from this game. writing it down would make it a whole book. stalker is such an outstanding "game" to me i cant describe it, its not like any other game to me, since the whole universe of it feels so special, like it wasnt a game.. i sometimes wish i could explore my dreams a bit more. its hard to explain what i mean when i say this game is special in a comment. but im probably not the only one who thinks this. i have drawn hundreds of little pictures all over my notebooks and my draw book that are all based in the stalker universe. just putting those together makes up an incredible imagination. i hope i will never forget this game until i die. i have only played one of the series, but ive read more of it than i have read in homework.
It wasn't until today that i've hear of the game series S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and i already love it and this song is probably my favorite out of all songs from games

Man im writing this late in the Night on a sunday, I got school tomorrow and it’s gonna be a long day. But for some reason I decided to come here and listen to this song right before going to sleep, and it just made me so damn sad to listen to this song. Everything about this song and especially this arrange of it is perfect, it conveys a feeling of eternal loneliness and melancholy to me, it conveys the fact that I’ve lost the one that I could speak with on a deeper level and that they are likely to never return. Time marches on and on until the day my life ends and I can’t do anything to stop it.

Ordered roadside picknick yesterday to immerse myself deeper in this world that is the zone. The game represent it very well but lack the sense of ridiculous dangers you have to face. I gotta say mods like anomaly do give you that feeling. This deeply scarred world full of wonders that no human could understand. Impoverished People taking a shot at a life just to have it taken away by radiation poisoning, mutants, bullets and above all. The zone.
Can you feel it? The ever presenting ticking of the clock, The beginning growing farther away, the end drawing ever nearer? in the end what will it all be worth?
I will always remember the first time i got my ass kicked by anomalies, bandits, emissions and mutants on a hazadrous trek to get a fire artifact. Was totally worth it.
I don't know what I was hoping to find in this anomaly zone . I know I found gold , but was it worth in the end .... All the people I killed , the near death experiences .... I know one fact , if not for zone , I would had been a lost man , now I have a porpuse ... Even if it kills me , destroys me ... Zone is calling and the Emnision is over... I started playing a guitar because of this song about half an year ago. It helped me to discover my new hobby. Well, i learned how to play it (but my performance is still on amateur level). And also I was really interested in learning another songs. For example, now I can play some old russian rock songs and damn, when you ` re playing guitar...This is the best way to spend afternoon with or w/o company of people. Hitting those chords and singing along making you happy like in 1000 times better than anything i experienced.
@@wadlet3380 well, i am not really understand much in choosing guitars because i have been playing only for 6 months. All i can suggest - try watch some youtube videos. And I can say that you need an acoustic guitar to perform STALKER ost. Can`t really tell any brand because i was really excited about playing a guitar that i bought cheapest classic guitar. This is similar to acoustic, but usually there are nylon strings which easier to jam but they sound not so cool as metal ones. I put metal strings on my cheap guitar, but this is bad because it can broke your guitar`s neck. In future I want to buy a real and expensive acoustic guitar and already can`t wait to try to play an electric guitar.

The stalker closed his eyes, got himself together, and in a moment of determination, shouldered his weapon while slowly approaching the bush where the sounds were coming from. The breathing got louder and louder as he closes his distance, the ground and the leaves were covered in thick blood. He was ready. With a quick sweep of the hand, the stalker pushed away from the foliage, revealing another body lying underneath. It was a Duty soldier. His body was mangled, his vest torn and riddled with holes, and the ground was soaked in his blood. Through the gasmask, the stalker could see the Dutier's eyes staring at him, glistened with tears. The dying man tried to reach out, but he could barely move his fingers and let out some inaudible creaks from his mouth. The stalker sat down, and held the soldier's hand, as a final reassurance. He'd had enough. The Zone gives little, and it takes more. And it was about to take one more time. The stalker stood up beside the dying Duty soldier, his pistol locked and loaded, barrel pointing straight at the man on the ground. The Dutier slowly closes his eyes, finalizing his acceptance while the stalker could not bear himself to look and turned his head away towards the setting sun glazing the landscape. The crows' feast was disturbed by the sound of gunshot ringing out, as they quickly departed into the clouds.
Once you go into the zone it... changes you, you become a part of the zone. But eventually you get used to it. You learn the ins and outs, know where the best safe-zones are and so forth. A normal man spending a night in the zone would go insane, but only the insane can survive, Покойтесь с миром, братья.

S.t.a.l.k.e.r is not a game to me. It’s a gateway into another world. It’s an experience. I can directly influence it or be influenced from it. I can move along with it or fall behind. It’s more than a game or art piece to me.
It is also an allegory of our society. No one escapes the Zone, aka the crumbling wild capitalist reality destroying our planet. The stalkers are the wage slaves of the government plutocrats who control the Zone, luring the stalkers to fight and kill each other for the crumbs, the nearly worthless artifacts and objects they risk their lives to acquire, forsaking everything they used to believe in during the process, abandoning their humanity for the obsession of greed and short term gains. All this on the ruins of Chernobyl, one of the main event that led to the fall of the Soviet Union, the socialist ideal for a fairer society that works for everyone that was stolen from the people and hijacked by dictators and tyrants who built a system that made this calamity possible. It is a very powerful story indeed.

@@hazode i saw different stories about this stalker for some reason other one i read was about red betraying his friends when they reach the wish granter and they punish him by burying him alive to the sarcophagus and after a while he cames back to life and becomes some kinda of a ghost ?
@@solowingpixy9367 the Red I'm referencing is Redrick Schuhart, one of the protagonists of the novel Roadside Picnic by Boris & Arkady Strugatsky. The games are loosely based on the book, but in the book there is no sarcophagus; it's not even set in and around Chernobyl, or even the Ukraine/USSR. In the book "the zone" was made by alien visitors, and there's more than one.

I was doing an Ironman run on Anomaly when I had a run in with Monolith and freedom at the Barrier I helped the freedom soldiers fight off the monolith and after the battle I met and eventually befriended a Stalker by the name of Misha Chrikov. I ran a lot of jobs for him and with him. And I formed a genuine connection with this NPC. Later down the road I found myself at the army warehouse sorting some business with the hippies as usual when I heard a particularly close gunfight erupt. Out of curiosity I checked it out once again it was the damned monolith, at the barrier again. There was a lot of them. The battle was rough and both sides sustained plenty of casualties ultimately ending in freedom repealing the attack. After everything had settled I began to search the dead for patches, roubles and other valuables. As I was searching I realized I picked up a familiar gun, it was an AN-94 with a Kashtan scope and a Gp 25, I looked at the Stalker I was looting and realized it was my friend, it was Misha, I legit began to sob as I realized he’s dead and gone for good. I had only realized he was in an isolated pocket of other bodies with him and 6 other monolith troopers surrounding him dead. He went down fighting. A somewhat cinematic and beautiful ending that you never would have thought was possible in a mod for Stalker call of Pripyat,

I had similar feelings in 1 life ironman playthrough. I died countless times trying to protect my fellow bandits. Its a rough life but I guess its better than being target practice for the Mercs. Sultan counted on us to cleanse the dark valley of the military presence. It was a suicide mission from the start. I was with 3 other bandits. They looked quiet experienced. We couldn't show that we were affraid, Sultan was counting on us. We were approaching the military but we were caught by gunfire from both sides, left and right. There was a trench there and I sat there. Seeing tracers flying and grenades exploding. I killed 1, and another grenade landed right next to me. I bandaged myself up. Realising I was the only one left, patching myself while my companions were dead around me. I was suppresed and couldn't even run to cover. I stood there, 1 mag left, no grenades and just my pistol. It was futile. I got killed too. Our bodies will forever rot in the soil of the zone. Along with my friends which I dissapointed.

One day I was walking through garbage when I saw a body face down in the grass. When I turned him over to search his pockets he spoke in a broken voice.

Startled and surprised I pulled my pistol, but this wasnt a zombie. This was a man! He was wounded. Badly. He need my help.
So I picked him up and carried him to the closest place I could think of. I took him to The Butcher. The Buctcher said he never seen anyone survive wounds like that. We made the wounded man some stew and shared our ciggarettes and vodka with him. We were convinced he wouldnt make it through the night.
The next morning the man was still breathing and over the next few days began to recover. He remembered his name was Filya and he said he hadnt been in the zone long.
He said he couldnt remember anything after leaving on patrol with some colleagues and they had been ambushed. In the confusion there was an explosion and Filya memory went black after that. He didnt even know what day it was.
For the next week Filya and I were inseperable.
A few days ago Filya and I were sandwiched between bandits and military soldiers. It was a hard fight. Filya took a round to the chest. It didnt look good. With no help or medical supplies I carried him to the medical tent in Rostok. When we arrived there and I set him down, he was dead.
In his backpack he had a mutant activity report that had been signed and completed the month before.
I knew there was only one man that could make use of Filyas work. Doctor Sakhova in Yantar.
You will be remembered Filya, for you were a good stalker.

a stalker can be killed captured or can leave the zone but the zone will never let him go
theres hours and hours of imaginations in my head that came from this game. writing it down would make it a whole book. stalker is such an outstanding "game" to me i cant describe it, its not like any other game to me, since the whole universe of it feels so special, like it wasnt a game.. i sometimes wish i could explore my dreams a bit more. its hard to explain what i mean when i say this game is special in a comment. but im probably not the only one who thinks this. i have drawn hundreds of little pictures all over my notebooks and my draw book that are all based in the stalker universe. just putting those together makes up an incredible imagination. i hope i will never forget this game until i die. i have only played one of the series, but ive read more of it than i have read in homework.

But for some reason I decided to come here and listen to this song right before going to sleep, and it just made me so damn sad to listen to this song. Everything about this song and especially this arrange of it is perfect, it conveys a feeling of eternal loneliness and melancholy to me, it conveys the fact that I’ve lost the one that I could speak with on a deeper level and that they are likely to never return. From time to time i come here to this video to think about my life and choices, and then i watch and read this comment and mini stories, summed up. I cannot stop coming back since the zone wont stop me.
Ordered roadside picknick yesterday to immerse myself deeper in this world that is the zone. The game represent it very well but lack the sense of ridiculous dangers you have to face. I gotta say mods like anomaly do give you that feeling. This deeply scarred world full of wonders that no human could understand. Impoverished People taking a shot at a life just to have it taken away by radiation poisoning, mutants, bullets and above all. The zone.
Can you feel it? The ever presenting ticking of the clock, The beginning growing farther away, the end drawing ever nearer? in the end what will it all be worth?

And i was thinking about that comment and theres that came to my mind:
Man sitting in the kitchen by the table wheres bottle of vodka, pack of red marlboro and a PM (Makarovs pistol). His holdings his head (Like the guy on a video) and thinking about what he done and having flashbacks where he and his mate having good and bad times together. As the string on guitar start's hitting high notes 0:59 every hit makes a flash in his eyes, like he drinking with his mate, and then second hit, his laughing on a joke told by his mate, the third hit and there a scene where him and his mate being robbed by the bandits and the main guy being shot by bandits, forth hit and man laying on the bed and his mate sitting next to him worring about him (And the next hit's you need to imagin by yourself to the time where his shooting his mate over a artifact). 2:19 theres another flashing but it's about timeline where his leaving the Zone, first hit his packing his stuff, second hit and his in a border giving cash to guards to leave the Zone, third hit and theres him sitting home depressed and full of sadnes and tears eyes, (As allways the rest hits you need to imagen by yourself) and by last hit his taking PM from the table and shoot himself truth the mouth and after that theres just instant black screen.
If only i had a good pc to animate this but only i can do it's just write my scenario here so people can watch it in theyr minds. And mabe someone will see this and animate it. If i have some gramma errors fill free to correct me and i will edit the comment. Good hunting stalkers

I started playing a guitar because of this song about half an year ago. It helped me to discover my new hobby. Well, i learned how to play it (but my performance is still on amateur level). And also I was really interested in learning another songs. For example, now I can play some old russian rock songs and damn, when you ` re playing guitar...This is the best way to spend afternoon with or w/o company of people. Hitting those chords and singing along making you happy like in 1000 times better than anything i experienced.

@@wadlet3380 well, i am not really understand much in choosing guitars because i have been playing only for 6 months. All i can suggest - try watch some youtube videos. And I can say that you need an acoustic guitar to perform STALKER ost. Can`t really tell any brand because i was really excited about playing a guitar that i bought cheapest classic guitar. This is similar to acoustic, but usually there are nylon strings which easier to jam but they sound not so cool as metal ones. I put metal strings on my cheap guitar, but this is bad because it can broke your guitar`s neck. In future I want to buy a real and expensive acoustic guitar and already can`t wait to try to play an electric guitar.
