8:01..My Twisbi's put out alot of ink ..a little to much for my taste..LOL good to know that shimmers , are not agreeable with these twisbi's 11:20 ...kaweco's are good for my outdoor field journals, 15:19...The Lamy med nib is smooth as butter on the paper....I like them very much.
Hey Kanzee! I find that the black coated lamy steel nib (usually on the Lamy LX models) are the smoothest, then the cursive nib (which isn't really cursive), and then the silver steel nibs (those can be hit or miss for being smooth). So this one specifically is my smoothest and it's so lovely! Kawecos are super fun to use and bring outdoors. The petiteness of those pens are so fun and nice. And I love putting shimmers in my twsbis, but sometimes, I just have to relinquish the ink if it's not suitable and just try a better shimmer. I just do this with the ECOs that I know have worked well with my shimmers. I find using regular inks in my TWSBIs to be very boring, since the look of the TWSBIs are very simple and normal at best, but that's not a bad thing! I just like them to show off the beautiful shimmeriness of inks!
I’m a little late seeing this, but I love the ink colors and pens you chose. There are so many vibrant colors in this video. Your voice is soothing to listen to as well. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Anna! That makes me so happy to hear that my voice is soothing ^_^ I definitely went ham on the vibrant bright colors in February. My May Currently Inked will be a bit more Springy+Rainy xD I'm excited to start and share that one after the Chicago Pen Show!
beautiful colors! very springtime too. i don't wear pink, but i sometimes wrote with a neon hot pink when writing poetry, and colors really change the way you write. so when i got into fountain pens i looked up my dark teals, oranges, stormy blues, faded rainy blues and wines and a couple of hot pinks. i really like them sometimes! you've inspired me to ink them up again this spring!
Thank you, Gristle! That means a lot knowing it has been inspiring! I hope the pinks bring you much joy in those moments of writing! Pinks of all shades really do bring a bright and fun atmosphere to things :)
♥Yeah, and it's amazing when it catches you by surprise and you end up loving a totally new range of colors! XD I love my dusty greens, and this one is more of a dusty dark olive and I'm so for it!!! I know you love your greens, you should try this Kitano Olive Green xD Thank you for stopping by as always, Monica!! ♥
First, I must tell you that I also love the Blushing Mushroom! I hope that I can get a bottle soon. I’ve been using a sample of it! For February I used Ferris Wheel Press Scarlet Song and Ruby Royal Flush in TWSBI pens . Also Wearengeul Dracula in TWSBI. My TWSBI nibs are stub. For my Valentine splurge I got the Leonardo Nebulosa Laguna and paired it with Diamine Arabian Nights !
Hi Liz! Yeah, Blushing Mushroom is so beautiful! It's light, subtle, but legible! I can't believe I wrote Blushroom Mushroom hahaha, someone pointed it out to me and I didn't see it until that comment. And yeah, my TWSBI Eco Stub has worked wonders with all my shimmer inks. I thought the Goldspot Exclusive Leonardo already sold out, how did you manage to get one on Valentine's Day? That's awesome that you got one ^_^ Arabian Nights is beautiful! Great ink pairing ^_^ Thanks for sharing your inked pens ♥
I'm commenting inbetween meetings at work so this may be a little rushed and scatterbrained :P but holy crap! what an amazing pen lineup you have going on here for february! i absolutely love it! so many lovely pens here. How do you like the cypress nib? is it smooth? i've seen those around, but i haven't tried one yet. i totally agree about twsbis and shimmer. i am actually in the process of destashing my twsbis because they just aren't bringing me a ton of joy anymore. however, what i will say is, i put blushing mushroom in an eco and it took me like 5 drops of vanness white lightning but after 5 drops it finally pushed that sucker through! so if you don't feel like switching pens for the vampire pigeon you could always try that LOL. (what a pain though! why can't FWP put that special sauce from sugar and spite into their blushing mushroom? that one is so juicy...) anyway speaking of sugar and spite, i recently got that bottle and i have it inked this month as well. mine is in a broad jowo nib, OMG Lao! it is THE BEST. i can't stop reaching for it. I love that ink, it's such a winner from them. oh, and the other thing i wanted to mention. i have wanted one of those hello kitty kawecos for a while, but i always back out of buying them because usually they only make them in fine nibs. i know i could replace it but it doesn't feel the same not having hello kitty's face stamped on the nib :( sigh! oh well, perhaps someday they'll introduce more nib sizes!
Hey Daisy! So happy to read all of your lovely comments and thoughts! I agree, the Sugar and Spite ink was such a hit and a wonder because only 10-20% of FWP shimmer inks are ever good, the rest are very dry and have bad shimmer particles, but they all look very pretty haha! They just need to put that magic juice from SAS into all of their other pretty shimmers. I dislike Vampire Pigeon now that I look at it. The blue is not very elegant next to this orangey red. I think I prefer shimmers that have a similar tone to the base, like a blue shimmer on a teal, rose gold shimmer on a dusty pink/purple/...well, literally rose gold on almost any ink is a win haha! I definitely now know I do not want to be disappointed anymore with these darn TWSBI Diamond 580s. I have no need for a medium twsbi for regular ink when other pens look way prettier with regular inks xD The only thing, for me, that TWSBIs had for them is to show off my pretty shimmers, but it's not even functional with shimmers, so there's no point. This Cypress nib is a bit draggy against paper - but I've only tried two shimmer inks in here. So the ink is dragging the cypress nib a bit. Mine is a medium, and the tipping material feels quite thick, so it kind of feels like the nib isn't really touching the page as closely as other nibs. Casey told me that the Medium and Fine write about the same line width. I'll have to test this Cypress on a regular ink to see if it will write smoother and without any bit of drag that I currently am feeling, but the nib looks beautiful :D The Kaweco nib on these Hello Kitty are Jowo because Kaweco decided to use a smoother nib for a luxury and special feel, different from their bock experiences. xD Someone commented that Kawecos use bock and I said, "I know that, but I have the bougie Hello Kitty AL sport and it IS a JOWO!" So I assume because they chose Jowo and its not their usual nib supplier, they made a decision to only buy a big stock of one nib to reduce costs and potential for certain nibs not being as popular? But that really limits it for us because everyone's tastes are different, but the one thing we all want is that KITTY ON THE NIB!! xD
Happy Monday to you, LIly! XD I was pretty proud of deciding to have the pens ordered in colors instead of red pink purple and repeat. This way the colors blend so beautifully throughout the lineup and made for a pretty picture! I hope you enjoy the colors of inks I chose!

As always, looking at your Leonardo makes me want to have one 😂 Really loving your lineup here - the pen color and ink color match so well!
Well it's a good thing I only have Rose Gold Antiqua that I enjoyed and cared to venture in with RO inks xD I think SOME of FWP's inks also have huge shimmer particles haha! My Leonardos are a spectacle to behold xD they're so extra and colorful, compared to my Sailors, which some would also think are extra and colorful :D Kobe inks are so wonderful. They've got the basic good qualities of Iroshizuku inks but the colors are interesting, yet tamed. They don't have super light illegible chromashaders like the Sailor Ink Studio line, so I love that! Thank you so so much for watching and enjoying my Currently Inked for this month ^_^
Hahaha!!! I read Blushing Mushroom twice and was so confused!! And your last sentence of “did you notice it?” Finally hit me when I read it correctly! 😅😅😅 Blushroom Mushroom 🍄 😂😊 love that! Thank you for your kind words! I’m happy you enjoy the pairings as much as I do! ^_^

I don’t have much in this range of colour inks but I am loving the Robert Oster Dusky Pink and the Kobe Sunset of that Day. They are lovely in those pens…. the two sailors are stunning and I also like the Kaweco/ Hello Kitty pairings. Bring on the pinks! 😀

Such a bummer about the TWSBI not working well with that shimmer ink. 😥 I tend to have less than excellent luck with RO inks, in general, so it's definitely sad to hear my go-to pen brand for them still can have issues with it. Loving the color palette this month and can wait to see how you like the Chai Latte when it lands.
Yeah, it was SOOOO sad. Diamine Firefly worked fine out of this Diamond 580 M nib last year, but it does not seem to work with this Robert Oster ink. I now know what you mean by having bad luck with RO inks, but in this case, I think it may be BOTH the diamond 580 and the ink being the bad apples. The blue shimmers were very saturated and heavy on the first line of words, which I didn't really like anyways. It doesn't create a purple, it just is kind of a solid blue on top of a dark orangey red and it's kind of ugly...xD TWSBI Ecos still rock though, I am most likely keeping all of my gold/rose gold ECOs. But selling all but my favorite Diamond 580. I can't wait for the Chai Latte to come too so I can make a fun new pen day video! :) Thanks for commenting and watching, Christy! I appreciate you! ♥
Oh yeah, it is NOT your fault. TWSBI nibs and feeds cannot handle shimmers unless the ink has VERY VERY TINY shimmer particles. Even then, the shimmers can clog the feed. My TWSBI ECO Medium nibs have handled shimmer well, though, so I'm really not sure why that is the case. ALL of my Diamond 580 medium feeds have clogged the nib. None of my TWSBI ECO mediums have clogged, and I will not put shimmers in my TWSBI fines. TWSBI nibs are a bit dry and too thin compared to most jowo nibs. And I now know I don't like a blue shimmer on top of a red ink xD I will probably have to scrap this Atlas Exclusive ink if I don't like it in another cheaper steel nib pen of mine.
