I am so proud that the amazing JulieAndrews invited the talented Brazilian musician SIVUCA to her wonderful The Julie Andrews Hour. What a brilliant episode ! Love Julie & Harry, they are such great icons.
I about fainted! I’ve been waiting so long for this show! Thank you, @Julie Andrews. You’ve made my year. I get to be 76 in three days. I like seeing the tiny icon of yourself on each screen. God bless you and keep you safe. Happy new year to you and your family.
Down by Frankfurt? I know you guys had your own little American compound (supermarkets, movie theaters and all), but did you also have American television? Considering that was way before Internet times, that’s pretty impressive! (I’m pretty sure it never aired on German television.)
@@TheJulieAndrewsArchive you are correct. I worded the comment incorrectly. We did not see your wonderful show in Germany. That is why I was so excited you aired it. My stateside family told me about it. They knew I loved you and was a fan of Harry Belafonte. We had the Stars and Stripes newspaper and a tv station which brought stateside information at times. We were in Bitburg near Trier. We took many trips all over Europe in the four years we were there. I tried to see as much as we could of the areas where Sound of Music was filmed. My 51 year old daughter remembers those trips and your movie is still her favorite. One of our main objectives was to get my dad to the places he fought in WWII. He needed to heal some by seeing the places that he had caused so much carnage, rebuilt. He visited with people everywhere we took him. They were so grateful to see him and to be able to thank him. He was in tears. Battle of the Bulge, Remagen Bridge, Buchenwald concentration camp and much of France. (Normandy) I was a nun for a couple years. Much like Maria I’m afraid. The Reverend Mother told me she thought I had a temporary vocation. I left and married a few years later. I have five children and thirteen grandchildren. Thank you for being such a huge part of my life. God bless you and keep you safe. Much love.
Two extraordinary stars. What a treat. Though my favourite episode is the one with Julie and Robert Goulet this one comes just next. I already did love them together in their show " An Evening with Julie Andrews and Harry Belafonte" in 1969. Though they have their own unique stiles their performance together is absolutely wonderful.
Extraordinary dystopian skit with Harry Belafonte. The only 2 survivors of a catastrophe being black & white, when America still did not accept a relationship depicted between a mixed couple on media! Ground-breaking with a quiet thud!!
Da gusto ver a los grandes cantantes
Sigo viendo todos los videos de Julie este con Harry belafonte❤
Every time I see the notification ‘The Julie Andrews hour’ I get so happy!

What a very talented and handsome man was Harry Belafonte! And Julie's voice with that stunning guitar is particularly sublime.
Thank you for this...this was such a great show! Harry Belafonte was great...and of course Julie was at her best!
