- During the After Show, Kelly Clarkson is asked about her decision to include Steve Martin’s name in the lyrics to a track off her new album, Chemistry, and reveals that she’s never met the actor, but hopes to in the near future. Additionally, Kelly addresses being pitted against fellow American Idol winner Carrie Underwood throughout their careers and shares her favorite part of having the country artist as a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

They're pitted against each other because they're literally the only two legitimate stars to come from decades of "American Idol" and probably of any U.S. reality competition show. Which means they should be grouped together as the two flukes and the dozens of other winners should be considered the opposing force.
