In the NHL, any team can win the Stanley Cup. In the NBA, unless you're the Warriors or the Cavaliers, you basically don't have a prayer of winning the championship. The Caps were going crazy because 44 years of failure had finally come to an end. The Warriors didn't have much to celebrate because they're one of the only teams that has enough money to *buy* the NBA championship. And what the hell was with the Eagles? A 50+ year drought comes to an end, and they celebrate like that?

They need to rebuild then win then repeat in the next 3-4 years the Warriors wont be in the Playoffs. Every team has a chance if they get get lucky and a player accepts their offer. Contracts expire what if the players like Klay or KD wont sign again? Dont judge a sport if you dont know anything about it.
The thing with the NHL is that it has the most brutal and beating playoffs in all sports. Hockey is a full contact, high speed and very physically taxing sport and the winners play anywhere from 16 to 28 games at full pace with full hearts, when the game is at its most physical (which it is in the playoffs) that amount of play time is going to wear you down, so winning feels better and losing feels worse
One of the things I'm glad Gary Bettman didn't copy from the other leagues (despite my differences with him) is have some network personality like Terry Bradshaw or Ahmad Rashad interview people at center field/ice/court asking them if they're going to come back or whatever. He just announces the MVP, congratulates both sides, says a few words and then gives the trophy. Short and sweet.
Watching all 4 sports, you could tell 3 are incredibly excited. Ovechkin (repping NHL) was damn crying in joy, jumping up and down and screaming in excitment. That cup lift is now iconic and tgey celebrated for like 3 months straight with the cup. The MLB you could tell the Red Sox were also very excited. Their celebration out on the field and in the locker room matches the Capitals, unfortunately they gave their trophy to their owners first which imo is wrong and it should go to players like the NHL. I may not understand the hype behind baseball but I could respect the passion players have for it. The Golden State Warriors example isnt as great imo, since they won the championship like 2 times before that in 3 years. Their initial celebration and the trophy lift were pretty boring but you can tell they were excited when they went in the back. What even in the fuck is NFL?!?!?. I mean that is not how you celebrate winning the most important game in sports smh.

Hockey is the least popular because the least amount of people play it. All the other majors sports are pretty easy for the average person to play. Especially basketball since there's hoops everywhere and all you need is a ball. To play ice hockey you need to join a team, which costs money, that team needs to buy ice time, which costs money, and then you also need a lot of equipment which costs a lot of money. Hockey is such an expensive sport, and it honestly is a rich kid sport. From my experience playing it for years, a lot of the best kids were the more wealthy kids because they had access to the best equipment. My parents would buy me thick sticks to make sure they would never break because we couldn't afford to get many, while rich kids could use the thin sticks that make shooting easier. They would break a few a season though, which their parents would easily replace, but yeah, it costs so much money to play the game and even them the people who more money will often still be better than you. Compared to basketball which is pretty much a raw skill game. I still love hockey and it's my favorite sport, but it'll never be the most popular sport just due to access. If you go to a poor community, they will act like they've never heard of the NHL in their life but they will worship NBA players. There's just a huge wealthy disparity in our sports, and of the four major sports, hockey is the richest and basketball is the poorest while baseball and football are in between.
Hockey is by far the best to see a team when or lose. Just imagine winning the cup in overtime of a game seven. In basketball they just jump around. Football all they do is smile and give hugs. Baseball they seem happy when they all run to the mound. But in hockey when everyone clears the bench screaming and jumping and rushing to the goalies crease they are by far the most happy that they one. And the inverse is how sad the losers are. The cup losers are always humiliated when they walk to the bench and the poor losing goalie is beyond filled with shame. The goalies always on the bench in humiliation or like Lundqvist when he lost the cup in 2014, face down on the ice in total embarrassment
MLB is really similar to the NHL when they win their championship titles. Not too long ago, if a team won the world series at home, the crowd was allowed to storm the field and celebrate with the team
NHL standings are often pretty tight until the last dozen games of the season. Alot of bottom teams in the nhl arent that far off from a playoff contention. There are usually only 2 or 3 reeeaaally bad teams and about 18 teams are around the same skill, but only some of them clinch playoffs, then u have ur top 10 beauties.
NBA was better celebrating when it was Jordan and Pippen and Rodman. Hockey is the only trophy presentation that is about the players. They get to have it for a year and then it goes to the next champion. The rest of the trophy presentations are about giving the owners a trophy.
