Criminal law adheres to 'beyond all reasonable doubt'. So, even a small sapling of the seed of doubt is enough to see a case thrown out. Law is all about playing the percentages. I worked under Rob Stary, one of the better criminal lawyers here in Australia as part of work placements, and he regularly alludes to this very scene as part of getting a point across. Trevor also conveniently left out the part where he's the one who convinced Mike to cheat on the test which resulted in Mike getting expelled from college.
They couldn't bring up that part cause their whole case was based on that the allegations against Mike are false. If they brought in the part that Mike cheated on the test for him, it proved that Mike never went to Harvard.
If only he listened to his Grandmother when he was in high school about getting rid of Trevor, this wouldn’t have happened. He might’ve also managed to go to Harvard, cmon he was quite smart regardless of his photographic memory.

Muzamil, it’s probably as exciting as that when you’re playing at their level. They’re the very best in the world and all the grinding and paperwork is made by their army of paralegal and lower level lawyer
Thank you! No other person has pointed that out, but they're saying Trevor is speaking the truth when the truth is that Mike's life, prior to Harvey, was a mess because of Trevor.
Trevor makes me so furious that i wanna punch him in face. First he ruined Mike's life-twice (2nd time, tried and failed thanks to Harvey). Then When Mike asked him to come to the wedding, he acted so holier-than-thou and could not even spare 1 day for the guy who did so much for him.
Completely agree! He sits up there all high and mighty acting as if he is better than Mike just because he's not a drug dealer anymore and isn't breaking the law but what about his integrity. He was just jealous of Mike. Mike may not have went to Law school but he helped multiple people using his mind. What the hell has Trevor done in his life.
agirlhasnoname 98 As a law student myself; I absolutely love this show. It’s very realistic, no made up rules or laws, every single thing checks out.. And Harvey well, he’s so well played. Love him as well! :)
agirlhasnoname 98 Well, in that case know that you’ve also learnt a lot about actual law, just one thing, there’s a whole lot more to it than just that hehe !
+Leeroy Jenkins Well, the laws or rules they mention all check out. The only stuff that don't check out are certain minor details like the LSAT scene in the pilot episode: no non-religious headgear is allowed and there are suppose to be multiple proctors in the testing room. Overall, most of the stuff in the show do check out.
The basis of the justice system is "Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt" so making Trevor seem untrustworthy is absolutely the right move, when you know he's actually telling the truth

Deshune Morrison obviously, but at the end he didn’t obligated Mike to do those things, he may have influenced him but Mike is responsible for his actions, like Harvey told him there was many things he could do instead of doing tests and being high
I'm really not into TV series, but Harvey Specter is probably one of the best written fiction characters on TV. His personality was very well developed and always consistent from season one. The actor did a great job as well. And he's weirdly endearing, always on the edge of being an ass but you can't help taking his side. I guess it's no accident his name is an anagram for respect.

So maybe you choose law because you saw suits, but at the end of the day you also need no discover the love to law, otherwise you are lost. So what I am trying to say is that it doesn‘t matter if your motivation to get into law school was suits, if you mastered it and you are a lawyer, you definitely have interest in law and you are definitely not a dummy
I wish Mike's grandmother was still around to see this. Then again, she probably knew back of her mind that eventually Mike will see for himself about Trevor.
Any Christopher Tyng fans in the house? The guy did proper justice to a series like this with his background scores. The one that’s playing in this scene, called “War” is my absolute favourite, followed by “Hardman returns”
Trevor didn’t just answer , he answered and then some; gave entire vivid details he did was not required to divulge And that’s when I knew He was never a friend
Even if it’s true that Mike didn’t go to Harvard, who is Trevor to testify against him? Harvey proved his character is shit. Mike was always the very best of friends to Trevor. He even saved him from being killed by those thugs with Harvey’s help. And in spite of this, Trevor did everything in his power to destroy him like snitching on Mike to Jessica.
People doesn’t get that the show isn’t trying to show people what’s good and bad, what the show is trying to show is how can you protect someone you love or care, so doesn’t matter if Harvey and Mike where lying but what they do to keep each other’s backs safe
This one is good no doubt... but not flawless though. Harvey kept threatening to call Jenny who wasn't even present in that room I personally think nothing could get better than how Louis completely owned Donna in that mock trial... most probably season 2
I always thought about this during the show. What does it matter if he did or didn't go to college. If this guy does your job 10000x better compared to everybody else who did go to college, doesn't that make him more qualified for the job in any way? If someone is that intelligent and making me millions I wouldn't give two shits about his education
SjoerdHammond I'm not from US but in Season 2 there were said that in US it's illegal to do those law thing (like lawyer) etc. if you haven't graduated from college (law school.)
Well, the main issue is that he didn’t pass the bar, which is a board of lawyers essentially reviewing you and accepting you to practice law. Some states -California, Virginia, Vermont, and Washington, I believe- allow you to go before the bar without attending law school. Keep in mind it is incredibly difficult and most firms hire directly from law school so it would be more difficult to get a job without the degree.
Perhaps if you're counting undergrad but it only takes 3 years to get a law degree. I got my B.S in environmental science and policy from USF Tampa and now I'm a second year at Levin in Gainesville.
This entire trial is filled with so many errors. Why the attorney didnt call the former dean of Mikes university to the stands who called Harved and told them about not letting Mike in because he sold his daughter a test? Since that moment somebody, espacially from Harvard, should have known that something is wrong with Mike Ross being a member in the bar.
she cud hav.... but dat wudn't hav made d case...bcoz harvey would hav destroyed his testimony by showing mike's transcript from harvard to him, and asked him if he was sure dat mike has not taken d lsats once again after he was done graduating from somewhere else...which dey would hav managed very easily by using lola in getting mike a graduation degree just like she got him in harvard....
The Dean of Mike's old college would've had to prove that Mike never attended Harvard Law which he can't! It would've been a he said she said kinda deal and who's to say after Mike left that college that he didn't attend another college and finish college there and worked his way up to Harvard Law and actually graduated. It's kinda like the same situation with Claire [ Trojan Bellisarios character ] she has no actual proof that Mike's a fraud just her suspensions that he never attended law school and this is based on something that happened between them decades ago because Mike lied to her once about attending Columbia to get a date and trying to impress her if that's all the proof she has then that's pretty shitty evidence if you ask me. I'm sorry but lying to her once decades ago about attending Columbia to get a date with her is not proof in my eyes, which she seriously needs to get over. She doesn't know for a fact that Mike never attended Harvard nor is a real lawyer, how the hell does she know that Mike didn't turn his life around or back to college and get his law degree? She doesn't! And even if Claire had taken Mike to court Harvey would've destroyed her testimony cause she has no proof of any kind that Mike is lying just her suspensions that he is. Even if they had called Harvard Law Mike is in the computer and they would've mailed them his transcript. Plus if you remember right when Trevor reports him to Jessica she does find Mike's HLS graduation, Mike was going to transfer has an undergrad in order to even apply to HLS he just needed an undergrad degree. Mike did get accepted to Harvard Law but was kicked out for selling a test to the dean's daughter and lost his scholarship, and if Sheila is really in charge of who gets accepted into Harvard and supposedly remembers everybody then she would've remembered that Mike did get accepted into Harvard Law, who then had his acceptance rescinded.
HarveySpecter Fan no it's not a he said she said thing😂 it's called being a witness. A witness testifies. If the dean says he kicked Mike out of college and called the dean of harvard to not let him in it's a testimony and has not to be proved. But if you add harvards deans testimony it is 2 against 1. In this situation Mike had to proof they are lying.
I can literally teach a masters course on objections from Harveg's CX. We can start with Badgering, we can move on to Assumes the Previous Question, we get a health smattering of Council is Testifying throughout, and we can end with a healthy amount of Calls for Speculation.
The only thing I hated about this show was that Trevor never got what was coming to him. Mike was dumb for being manipulated so many times, but Trevor was just a nasty douch that basically just got to live happily ever after.
Even though Harvey saved Trevor's ass from season 1 he never liked nor trusted him. I'm Guessing he knew that Trevor will eventually pull this stunt again on Mike.

Trevor always used Mike..
I’d love an actual lawyer to come review this scene and talk on its accuracy
The only thing I hated about this show was that Trevor never got what was coming to him. Mike was dumb for being manipulated so many times, but Trevor was just a nasty douch that basically just got to live happily ever after.
A judge has to rule on a an objection you just can’t go on when the opposing counsel objects.
No, the defense is wrong. These tire Mark's were made by a 1963 Pontiac tempest.
One of the few court scenes in suits..
Trevor needs some ice. No, he needs an iceberg.
You can’t keep asking questions and getting answers when there is an objection lol
One of the best scene in suits
absolutely triggered that her objections were ignored
Harvey is like batman and mike is spiderman
Remember, when your mother/grandmother tells you to stop being friend with someone, you just need to stop.
Even though Harvey saved Trevor's ass from season 1 he never liked nor trusted him. I'm Guessing he knew that Trevor will eventually pull this stunt again on Mike.
